David Campbell

Absolutely heartbroken but on Saturday we go again this team have done us so proud. Let's finish the season on a high and look forward to the champions league qualifying.

John F

Hi David Will the club put in an official complaint to Uefa about last night? It was an absolute disgrace particularly the water situation.

stefan strzelecki

Feel numb like everyone else We should find comfort in the opportunity of champions league qualifiers , no team in Europe will want to be drawn against us , we shouldn’t fear anybody. Very proud of the supporters , you. very much did the club proud. UEFA need to explain themselves for the lack of hydration and eating facilities. Bring a type one diabetic , it’s just as well my brother took my ticket . He confirmed what you were saying David regarding water. He had to get a cup and get tap water from the toilet.

William Black

Apologies for my comments last night, there’s no excuse but as soon as Ramsey went up for a penalty it was one of they parody moments that you knew what was coming. Apologies nonetheless. Completely heartbroken and stuck out here till Sunday, just want the cup final done and then switch off from Rangers for a few weeks. Felt like I’ve been living in a bubble since Leipzig and then last night was like someone stuck in a pin in me. Stadium conditions were absolutely shocking, but it’s Uefa and enough brown envelopes will be passed around to ensure that other absolute shithole stadiums with insufficient food and drinks for fans, and of course a lack of seats, happens again and again. Just win on Saturday please Rangers and let us all have a break.

John F

Thanks for the response Cammy. I hope they make this public.

Craig Scott

Iam really struggling to get over last night all I see is the penalty miss gutted to say the very least

Colin Mathie

I think we have a right to be angry with Goldson especially David, wtf did he think he was doing, just blooter the f'n thing ffs.

Cameron Bell

I would doubt it, but they will lay the blame at the organisers of course. I don’t think they have a huge focus to regulate or supervise these things as the hosts should be taking care of it. Most likely the repercussion would be them not getting it again, however I’m concerned we are shouting into the void.

David Hanlon

The team did us proud and penalties are a lottery. My problem is with the club and how they treat the fans. Look at the difference between the German fans and ourselves. While Stand of Germans getting behind the team as real fans get tickets. We have talked about the experience at Ibrox on Thursday nights. Too many tickets given by the club to people that never go to Ibrox. The Union Bears should have been behind the goal and why did the Germans have a have flags and flares. We were treated like 2nd Class.

Andy mccrorie

Had a feeling in the pit of my stomach as Ramsey walked up that he would miss , didn’t look confident at all , gutted beyond belief

David Kiltie

Back in 2008 we had 3 league games after Manchester which drained the team before the cup final. I think it’s better to play the two finals in quick succession. No one will be taking Hearts lightly on Saturday.

Steve Clark

The one thing that has cheered me up today is the behavior of our fans in Seville.the conditions in the stadium sound horrendous.

Dougie Grant

Totally gutted today.Feel horrible.

Spoon

Great pod guys. Simultaneously very proud of our run but bitterly disappointed in how we didn’t take the game to them more, even with that team and without a striker we have created much more going forward and put teams under pressure that we just didn’t seem to believe we could last night. I don’t feel angry at the team but I do think it was very much as good a chance as you ever get in a final and that is a regret. Onwards and upwards 🔴⚪️🔵

Roddy John Murray

Well, not going to lie, I am as flat as a very flat thing today. Penalties are a shite way to lose any game, never mind such a prestigious final. That being said however, I am immensely proud of our team and the fact that we have gone toe to toe with so many huge teams and handed them their arses. Basically, process last night today and then tomorrow we are on the eve of the Scottish Cup Final. Jambos will fancy their chances after our exertions of last night, but I think that our team will be well up for the fight. Come on the Rangers!

James Cameron

Still feel totally numb couldn't sleep last night. Hit me today that this will be probably be the last time in my life time thar Rangers will be in a European Final. Emotional wreck yesterday seen all the vids and pics and I will regret not going to Seville for the rest of my life.

Bradley johnson

Walked up to the ground today and stadium staff were picking phone chargers, sun cream, earphones etc out of the bins

David Harrison

Gutted, and can’t help but feel we’ll fuck up the cup final on Saturday and end the season with hee haw. Hopefully not though. Need to get this cup win so badly.

David_Davy_Dave

Edgar is right. Rangers simply can’t opt out of Europe Colin shout for you. Excellent again on the Guardian podcast

Drew Hyslop

Sorry Cammy. We were looking to Goldson and Tav to lead us last night. They were the worst two players on the park. Goldson should've given a penalty away, he had a slip/bad touch that put the boy through and was at fault for the goal. He also put the ball out the park about 10 times. What chance did we have when our Vice Captain leads like that?

chris smith

For me, GvB lost the tactical battle. It was a close game with little between the teams. I dont think we played badly - given the situation/circumstances, but we never really got to grips with the game until the last 15mins and it just leaves a sad feeling of we should have done better. I didnt think Frankfurt were that great and in defence they were a bombscare. We seemed to give them too much respect in the end.

Garry

Football can be so cruel. Its always going to be a what if when we look back at this game in years to come. Not sure we will ever get a chance as good as that to win a European final again. On the other hand look how far we've came in such a short space of time. We must win on Saturday and we must win the league next season. Champoins league qualification would be nice too.

Karl Waring

Just here to say thanks for doing these pods, as im sure everyone here feels the same about last night, im sure its hard to talk about.

Stephen Fraser

A bit of therapy, thanks lads. Still hurting….in a way it’s a bit like that feeling when you get dumped! It just lags and every now and again when you think it’s gone, it comes back! Hadn’t seen the ball go over the line for the Kent chance so I’m relieved to hear that was the case. Will eventually look forward to Saturday, but fair play to all the bears who made it over. Sounds like it was some experience. Love to all 💙

Andy Sladen

100% agree on everything said about getting into the ground last night and the total lack of organisation and duty of care given by not providing basic needs for people. One of my friends I travelled with is diabetic and didn’t have a drink from 6 till we got to our bus after 12.30 and thankfully CTM had thought ahead to have water available for us for us or goodness knows when we would have had some. Leaving the ground last night a couple of guys had set up a BBQ and selling beer - everyone was asking if they had water, when they said no only beer everyone moved on - didn’t think I would see the day bears knock back the chance of a beer to look for water. We all made comments that it was like being back at Belgrade but we expected Belgrade to be as it was - not Seville. I wonder how the Frankfurt fans behind the other goal were treated especially as they had flares going off in the second half?

David Gardner

Hi David - couldn’t agree more regarding the security situation, the water and the stadium was actually one of the worst I’ve ever been to in Europe! I was in F42 near the top of the stand and it was so so steep!

David Gardner

Also blew my mind how they got pyro and flags while we got zero! …. Spanish police and uefa are vile scumbags - let’s hope someone has filmed their treatment of fans yesterday

Andrew Hind

Going to take a long time to get over this, if goldson had just kicked it away! What was he thinking anyway it's done now, hopefully we can have some more great times in Europe next season, just need to improve the away form

Raw Data Analyst

Look at Braga, Villareal, even Frankfurt. Getting themselves into latter stages of europe, definitely achievable again. Need to recognise how good we actually are.

Robin Balfour

Personally I think we’ll see a massive reaction from both our players and supporters on Saturday. I’m going to get myself up for it big time and cheer our team onto our first Scottish Cup win in 13 years. That is far too long ( only one year less than our last European final) and we need to get back to lifting trophies year after year again. Saturday is massive. So lift yourselves up guys and let’s do this.

Alan Bradley

Well done Colin on keeping everything going in Heart & Hand towers this week 😞😞

Gordon Smith

David’s description of a scar is perfectly apt. It may heal but will leave a mark on us for a very long time.

Craig Robertson

Good listen, thought the Goldson tackle was a penalty and that the Roofe chance was out of play. I'm philosophical about it all. We didn't really show up until the last 40 minutes of the game or so and could have had little complaint if we'd lost in normal time. As much as we went to sleep for their goal, what about ours? Calamitous defending.

Mark Harvey

I'm not sure how he could win the tactical battle with the players at his disposal. Frankfurt were excellent at stretching the game. I'm not sure Gio did much wrong.

chris smith

Losing the tactical battle didnt stop us from winning. In the end we had more possession and more shots on target than them. Their keeper made more saves and I think we even had a higher XG … but they nullified the way we wanted to play, which made it look like Tav etc., had a poor game. Unfortunately, they always looked more comfortable in midfield and looked more ‘in control’ … thats what I meant. Their defence was pretty poor and their front line was fairly ineffectual bar the goal.

David

Loving your positivity David.

Robert White

Afraid I agree, they played their heart out but the occasion affected their play. Too much fear. We won every other round playing fearlessly. Defend when absolutely need to but not in a final...again!
