Samuel Brownlee

If the Haaland to City transfer somehow falls through is that a player you think would fit our system? I know he won’t oust Morelos but could be a good option off the bench.

Joe McCallum

Hey guys. It appears unlikely to happen, but do you think Thijs Dallinga the young Dutch striker would be a good signing? He looks the part and his goal and assist stats speak for themselves so far

Steven McNeil

How much do you think the transfer dealings will be impacted by Europe? Like plan a gets us to the qualifiers Then it’s plan b if it’s champions league and plan c if it’s Europa? Is it worth taking the risk of spending now to get champions league and selling more if that fails or is it better to go with a more conservative approach and what do you think the board will do?

Ewan Taylor

From a Scottish homegrown perspective - which Scottish players would you sign that you would also be happy playing in European competition or with potential to develop like Bassey? I would take Josh Doig from Hibs but curious about you guys’ opinions. Do you know of anyone from feyenoord during Gios spell there that he may sign - it feels likely he will want to sign players (if suitable) that he has worked with and knows well?

KG

I'm a bit surprised the club aren't taking advantage of the new work permit rules and doing some scouting work in South America? Is there any other nations that peak your interest? I'd love to see us set up more academies in untapped markets in a similar fashion to what he have done recently in India

Jordan

Scottish players to rangers. Yes or No given a reasonable price. Some examples Ross Stewart (No) Josh Doig (Not sure) Kerr Smith (Maybe in the future) Lewis Ferguson (Yes but price would be an issue with the sheep)

John Monk

I know this will split opinions but what’s your thoughts on Kenny McLean? His contract is up next summer, so the fee this summer could be manageable and it’s no secret that he was a rangers fan, I feel like he could be a good Arfield replacement.

Michael

How do Rangers manage to integrate youngsters into the first team, whilst improving our success on the pitch?

Jack

When’s Kenny miller coming back?

Callum Dinnen

We're not in a position where we can take risks IMO. We posted massive losses last year and we should have learned from the Murray years where reckless spending gets you.

Craig Fryatt

A Squad work through , 2 players for each position What are our key areas to improve? For me it’s Right Wing , any Suggestions? Do any of the youngsters that were out on loan have a future? I see Maxwell looks to have left Right now without any sales I am perfectly happy with the squad bar a RW and another striker Hypothetically if Kamara, Aribo and Kent go who would be the replacements?

Bob MacCallum

Number one priority has to be another striker but not to replace Morelos. If we could use Liverpool's front 3 system then we're looking for a Sala type. A cheap enough acquisition with sell-on potential. Plus, Kent has to score more goals.

Dylan Brand

Do you think the LB area should be more of a priority that it is considering that Bassey could continue playing in CB (if he stays) and the inconsistent nature of Barasic ? Also with setting our eyes on doing better in Europe each season, should we as a support not be hasty to discount the domestic market for players considering the success we have had with Jack, Kamara and potentially Wright ?

KennyY

I genuinely believe that if Gerrard had still been here then we would have signed his pal Suarez on a 1 year deal. He would have banged a few goals in for us. What we need as it stands is a creative right side player who will score and create goals and a striker. Hagi will be back and I’m hopeful that we might also see Ofoborh make his debut. Jon McLaughlin is a safe pair of hands, commands his box and that will bring confidence to the defence and we wont have the amount of goalkeeping errors that cost us the league last year. Lowry must be integrated more into the first team. Must get a striker to challenge Alfie. I know he does lots more than scoring goals but we need a better goals return from him. Also need to clear out some of the guys who won’t get a game.

Ross Stewart

Apparently not looking at an LB in the window after reports of looking at josh tymon. Think that is surely got to be incorrect with bornas form and interest in Bassey. Is Fraser good enough to step up now as a backup or not?

Paul

We are crying out for creativity in that team! We need additions that will score and assist. Box to box midfielder who can take a shot! Striker and RW. Enjoy listening to the show!

Simon H&H

Cut off 8pm for questions as recording tonight folks 👍

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

Goalkeepers. Do we think we should sign another top quality keeper? I’m happy with McLaughlin as number 1 and McCrorie as number 2. Jon is a good keeper but McGregor is again different class and that’s my point. If McGregor doesn’t stay then in an ideal world i’d want a keeper close to his level. Appreciate this might be very expensive purchase though. Thoughts on potential names maybe?

David Clapperton

Has Ross Wilson done a good job over his time at the club so far (ins & outs)?

Neil

As a few have mentioned the Scottish quota for European squads definitely needs discussion. With Arfield and Jack out of contract next year leaving us with Souttar and Wright along with our 4 home grown ones (Lowry, McCrorie, King and + 1) we need to be looking at where the next players we can pick up from other clubs in Scotland or came through a Scottish academy. Ross Stewart or Liam Kelly (depending on the GK situation) might be decent shouts.

bigwilliamstyle

Noticed player called Lois Openda score on his debut for Belgium the other day. Been on loan at Vitesse for past two seasons and been banging in goals in Eredivise Surely guys like this should be on our radar/price range? Under contract with Brugge till 2024. Looks the part in the OYTV but they always do! Better option than the Colombian playing at Sochi

Paul Kerr

Let's say nobody else significant leaves and we're bringing in wide right, attacking midfield and a striker. One Scottish, One English, One overseas. Who are you bringing in? Can't see the support or manager being happy with a few free transfers. What's a realistic net spend this summer in your opinion?

KennyY

I think most of us are hoping that our Dutch management team have some hidden gems up their sleeves for us to sign pal.

KennyY

Not 100% transfer related but any news on the appointment of a new Doctor. Surely we need to get sorted given the injuries we’ve had than those in rehab

Tamus

3 things. 1. We need to cash in on Bassey, I'm amazed so many people say no. That's the new model. It's they way it's got to be. 2. I'd take a cheap punt on the wee Charles-Cook dude as a decent squad player. 3. Sands at £4.5M behave

Martes

With Lowry getting game time next season, Hagi’s delayed return & if Aribo does go with his contract up next year. Do you think we will prioritise the No. 10 position along with wide right?

Ross Chalmers

In my opinion, it’s an absolute must we sell Calvin Bassey. What is the minimum we should be looking for? Can we really turn down a bid of around 20 million? I’d love us to hold out for 25+ but clubs will know we will be tempted around the 20 mark.

David_Davy_Dave

Lots of talk about “the model” How well equiped do you think Rangers fans genuinely are to cope with a scenario such as selling on Aribo and Bassey and relying on Lowry and King to step up and replace them?

Gordon Mac

Genuinely think we need a refresh or we will find ourselves in trouble, as per last year, we struggled from the off. If you could sign 2 first team starters which positions would you prioritise? if you have targets feel free :)

Alan Baxter

Is Matej Vydra from Burnley an attacking option to look at as he has been linked previously? I think one of Morelos or Roofe will move on this summer

Gordon Mac

Think Kelly may have burnt his bridges. Speaking to a Sunderland fan when i was over for Sevilla he really liked Stewart cant say ive seen enough of him to judge

Douglas Wright

Given that bassey is likely away and with bornas form fluctuations and injury history what would you do regarding the left back position. Sign a starter, sign a young backup or trust the b team left back. I feel like we cant leave the position as it is

Andrew Montgomery

Has there been any hints as to what type of budget Gio has for this Summer. ?

Brett

What positions to do think will be a priority and if we have to sell 1 player who do you tinker it will be? Do you guys have any news on possible budgets that we will have to spend - with and without a sale?

John Buchan

The one year left contracts must be top of Ross Wilson’s to do list . Love Bassey to stay a while longer

Simon H&H

Any Qs not answered in tonight’s pod, will be next week 👍

Bruce Burns

Given the necessity for home grown players for UEFA competition, which players from the current Scotland National squad and U21 squad should we be targeting?

Scott Dickson

How worried are we that rather than a summer rebuild, we’re just trying to get by with renewing older players contracts and letting our highest value assets run theirs down?

Graeme Brown

One question and one general point: It’ll be interesting to see how “sentimental” Gio is in his first transfer window. I think Gerrard was emotionally invested in some players that maybe should have been sold for financial / contract reasons before now, but weren’t. I’m excited and a little anxious to see what Gio’s approach will be. if Alfie doesn’t extend his contract (which I believe runs out next summer), should he be sold? Personally, I don’t think we could replace him for anything less than £10 million as he’s as vital as Tav is to the way our whole team is set up. I’d keep him and risk losing him on a Bosman in 2023.

John Smith

Is there a particular market that you feel is untapped which we could take advantage of ?

Simon H&H

I’ll be honest, everyone out of contract bar Steven Davis and Goldson would have been thanked and moved on for me.
