One more for the Beale bandwagon - I've started following the QPR socials to keep track of how he gets on. Good lad and wish him all the best

Colin Mathie

If McGregor is the no.1 next season then McLaughlin is an idiot for sticking around.

Blair

Don’t feel guilty a would say it’s about 80% negative towards mcgregor no other team in world football give new contracts to 40 year olds

Mark

Roma, AC Milan, Juventus, Manchester United, Inter...

Blair

All legends in world football mcgregor is not that

Robert White

Disagree Blair. His heroics ensured 55. Without him,no Manchester or Seville, he made several world class saves in both tournaments, way beyond what is ordinary. Yes, last year's league had some errors but the whole defence did. 56 this year.

Andrew Ewing

For no reason whatsoever, I am tipping Augustin Alemandra (22) of Boca Juniors to Rangers. There are no rumours so I’m starting that one.

Andrew Whiteside

In 55 season McGregor had an amazing season and last year he had a lot to live up to. Age is not a factor. If he is number 1 then he will be judged the best keeper at the club.

Trev @JimmyBell_Loyal

I really don’t think shagger would sign again if he was told he would be number 2. He’s the type of guy that would want to be playing. Now if he is chosen at number 2, that’s different. I reckon he will be between the sticks again.

Steven McGill

Sitting thinking calmly, Klos rarely came off his line, or Goram (odd big punch away when we were protecting a lead). Shagger is Shagger. He’s a winner. Come back after the summer, go into the new season flying and get our title back.

David Rome

It’s too easy to point the finger at mcgregor. We werent good enough at both ends of the park. We didnt score enough goals last year.

KennyY

There’s no doubt that in Europe last year MacGregor was outstanding and his saves assisted greatly in our run to the final. The issue I have is domestically everyone knows his weaknesses and teams exploit that. His failure to command his box and come for crosses led to a few goals against last season. McLaughlin has made no mistakes of note so far and is better than McGregor with the ball at his feet. We wait to see what Gio plans to do with the keepers and I trust him to get it right.

David, you mentioned the poor show of the replies in the McGregor announcement tweet. I don't mean this as a go at the club but you've worked in social media and I can't think of a different way of putting it, do they take some responsibility in some way? They can't take it for the abuse of course but most if not all of the media staff will be bears and will be acutely aware it wasn't 100% universally supported - rightly or wrongly. So with either people on Twitter in my perception either being nasty, lazy or not knowing how to untag, should the Twitter account have tagged him in? I at times pull people for not untagging when being critical so a bit of a bugbear - no pun intended - of mine!
