Craig Murray

A huge three points, well done the teddies.

Jamie

The whipping boy patter and making him sound like a victim is terrible. He couldn’t get a game for Aberdeen for a reason. Saying he isn’t the worst player on the pitch and trying to justify how he somehow is good enough to play for us is funny. He is a winger for Rangers, wingers for Rangers are meant to be flarey, score goals and be exciting. He isn’t that and that’s the reason he gets stick. He is a hard worker and good professional to his credit, but he isn’t of the standard we require. Even as a squad player, if we are looking for something off the bench I struggle to see how he makes an impact. The cup final was a good example of him being great, but that’s a very odd example and sums up how inconsistent he is.

Russ

Some of those crosses in the first half were borderline criminal. Not sure who did those lines at Livi, they looked thick enough to be on the roads haha.

Graham johnston

Seriously why can't we defend a long punt up front? I think we are going to have to go to a back three for a while and see if that works. There is a bunch of journeymen strikers out there who score about 3 goals a season and one of them is against Rangers. Season after season. We got it over the line today but our defence needs to learn to head a ball. Doesn't fill me with Confidence either that that's not Davies strong point.

Hoggy

He’s not a victim, he’s a squad player. He was no worse than others but he’s the one that gets it. He’s a forward in a forward three and he’s trusted by the manager because he’s a better defensive forward. Is he for me? No. I’d rather he wasn’t starting against Livi cos that’s not what we needed. If that’s terrible or funny, that’s quite the take.

Doug Young

Wasn't expecting the win after the rubbish offside call and the flukey save from Tilman but well done lads on keeping the foot down. Plenty to come. Sure Souttar will improve but has to be said that Sands looked very solid and composed there when he came on.

Jamie

The way some people go on about him you’d assume he was a victim. Realistically it was Souttar who got most of the flack. Wright “gets stick” because he consistently underperforms the level we require. It’s that simple.

Hoggy

We didn’t go on about it to make him a victim. If folk assume that from what was said, not much that can be done. Souttar had a bad day. A very bad day.

Jamie

Fair enough. I actually think the managers hands are tied because we’ve already brought quite a number of attackers in and through circumstances outwith his control not all are fit. Agreed regarding Souttar. Worrying.

Hoggy

The “problem” with Wright is the manager likes him. Something different. When all are fit he might not even make the bench.

Ross Whitehead

Andy Walker is a complete and utter dork.

Ross Whitehead

For the offside goal the linesman is about 2 yards behind play and as he is looking across the angle he has makes Čolak look offside. Officials were poor today.

Hoggy

Anyways. We won 😁

Graham Roy

Have seen better rangers teams play worse than that on 1st day of season! Will take the 3 points and forget about it. Souter was poor but Borna never helped either. Tillman looks a player though!

Regarding SW I have never understood why we brought him to the club me personally I have not been impressed in 99% of the games he has played for us. I understand why Gio and the staff pick him like you say Hoggy he is a far better defensive forward and gets trusted to do the dirty work but I agree that wasn't required at livi for today's game. Soutter today was a bomb scare even during pre season games I seen him in I was worried with how much he gets caught out and then today he gets caught out for there goal.

Mark Boyd

The point about whipping boys, irrelevant of who it is, has always been true at rangers. We have to have a fall guy. It’s just a frustration thing but when you ignore what a guy does well cause you just don’t like him then you’re not really supporting the team imho

Graeme Guthrie

Regarding points of failure, i agree Borna and Souttar had to take some blame for the goal, but i also think Mclaughlin didnt cover himself in glory either. He was in no mans land, off his line, but nowhere near the attacker.

David Welsh

Ironically, maybe McGregor would have been “rooted to the goal line” and there would have been no opportunity for a lob. Though I do think it’s the right call to give McLaughlin the chance to nail down the position.

Really good second half performance and credit to the manager for his changes today. All subs made a positive impact and were made at the right time. Some positivity around the result required here. Livi away always a tough game to be fair and even tougher when it’s your first.

Graham Jones

I think we’re being a bit hard over the first ninety minutes of the season, but by all means get it off your chest. It’s nice just to have the football back. I don’t mind who plays in goals, because I trust all three keepers. Let’s just accept we were caught sleeping at the back today, but still won the game. I thought we fully deserved the three points, as we battered Livingston in that second half. Also, can we all agree that FIFA should never, ever agree to play the World Cup in the desert in the middle of our winter, ever again?

Jock Paterson

I’m not sure Souttar should have played, he had a bereavement a week ago. Hopefully more to come from him, a session with a dietitian will help him for starters.
