Totally agree with adam when he says about comparable teams in other leagues and even celtic, they show that if you have the right players then it isnt as hard as we make it to break teams down and score but the main reason for me is we dont have the players to do it.

Whether some people want to admit it or not, Lundstrum with Jackamara next to him or a steve davis etc might be fine away from home in europe but as USG game showed and domestic games, they're totally different to dortmund/leipzig away. Having guys like hatate, o'riley, turnbull, McGregor etc is why they get so much joy because our only attacking impetus generally comes from outwide in Kent and Tav in the main, certainly dont have anything worth speaking about in the middle and it shows

Adam is bang on with the midfield. Lawrence and Tillman need to start with two wide men. Far to defensive against bang average teams

Shaun Watson

Great show as always guys. Tactics talk is one of my favourite shows on here. But was it just me that struggled to hear what Adam was saying?

Colin gray

Great show, what is happening with Adams sound though sounds like he's down a well

We talk about how flexible Gio is, which is great don’t get me wrong. But is there an argument to say that in some cases, him needing to be flexible is because he got the team wrong in the first place? Tuesday is a perfect example of that. I think this is linked to the fact that we seem to be starting games slowly.. it’s starting to become a concern for me! Thoughts?

I didn't think the line-up was wrong at kick off but hindsight is a wonderful thing. Just don't think you can legislate for nearly all 11 players playing so poorly as individuals. Vast improvement required.

I really do enjoy these shows and I have to agree 100% with Adam regarding the chance creation. It’s something I feel has been an issue for years actually (even in the 55 season we won 1-0 umpteen times, many of which were a real chore and could easily have resulted in dropped points). I totally agree that with the gulf in quality between ourselves and the budget teams in the league that we should be creating so so much more. I genuinely can’t remember when we last had a game won at half time which really should be relatively commonplace with our quality, because we do have really good players. Every game seems a complete toil. I do think that we have considerably better players than celtic but they do have much higher quality than every other team in the league and their games against the budget teams always seem seamless whereas ours are complicated beyond belief. Frustrating as our players are capable of so much more.

Did we not beat Aberdeen 0-1 at pittodrie the beginning of 55 season? Ryan Kent scored

I always really enjoy this show. It’s enough to warrant the monthly fee on its own. Great to hear Ally’s dulcet tones - and well constructed thoughts - again too.

One thing with the narrow victories during 55 was we were creating chances but had patience when they were not converted, many games won later on in 2nd half and as usual after the first goal others often followed. No fans, so there weren't thousands of the pant wetters all squealing after 20 mins to shoot from the halfway line!!

Great show lads. Thanks Ally, Adam & Martyn. I see one big difference between season 55 and all the rest - tempo!! We've played pretty much the same style / tactics every other season but not as quickly or as decisively. That extra pass or pause is allowing the opposition defence the time to reset. We seem to have a case of Arsenal-itis!! Keep doing what we're doing, just quicker!!
