Love Ally. My hero. There's a reason he's not a manager.

Graeme McLeod

If James Sands as a left sided centre back is the answer, I don't want to know the question. At this level it's too obvious how uncomfortable he is with his left foot, and he too often looks for the safe pass and it slows the game down. Last night it had a knock-on effect on our attacking threat as we weren't getting the ball down the left flank to Kent quickly enough in the first half. Leon Balogun isn't required though - we've got Ben Davies and Leon King there. Should clarify I don't blame Sands for the goals. I wasn't impressed by Goldson or McLaughlin. Don't think either organised the defence well enough.

Jordan Grant

One of my favourite ever songs :D

Paul

John Souttar injured already. It's not like he has a record of picking up injuries....do we ever learn?

Graeme McLeod

I had PSTD style flashbacks to Andy Cameron last night at half-time. Broke out in a cold sweat expecting him to run out onto the pitch like he used to.

Simon

Anyone else picturing the Adam’s family dancing when they heard that tune?

Euan Third

34 and injury prone. Of course Ally wants us to re-sign Balogun!

Ryan Stewart

Probably an unpopular opinion but I think it’s harsh to blame Goldson for the 2nd goal last night. The guy literally has a 5 yard run and jump on him. Don’t think there’s many CBs who would win that header against another CB attacking it.

Stephen

If Balogun was a champions league level player he would have a new club by now. Even as a short term signing he would take all that time just getting back to match fitness having not had a proper pre season. Mad idea from ally

Neil Wilson

Great question. In Rod We Trust.

Brian Rae

I was never fussed about the prospect of Goldson leaving this summer and deep down, I was hoping we would upgrade. Yes, his new deal has saved us money, yes, he's very robust and reliable but, he continually costs us at European level and he's started this season like every other with the 55 season being the exception. Helander is/was our best CB but he's seriously injury prone to the extent that he looks done at this level of football. (Playing 2-3 games a week) Worryingly, he's far from alone in that regard. All winning teams have a solid defence and unfortunately, IMO, we don't have that. Our defending at set pieces especially has been an issue for over a year now with no sign of improvement.

Sands had the best passing stats of all the players last night and dealt with everything he was asked to. We don’t have to go back long to find examples of players in new positions who got lots of criticism early on and turned out excellent As for McGlaughlin he was good last night. McGregor could not play half of those play outs from the back and he was off his line in a flash when he needed to be

We had a new DJ last night. I wonder if the outgoing one left him the Andy Cameron song and a note saying “this is a real fan’s favourite. Be sure to play it” 🙈

Gary Brown

Thanks for the update David. It's rare I differ from your view but I don't think the away team advantage is as big a factor as your good self. All still to play for! A Cup Final - the CL Group Stage Cup 😉 A one off game as big as the UEL Final for the restoration of our European status and financially it's even bigger. If we all dream, believe and support the team like we did for the Seville Final amazing things can happen. Goldson 90% of the time bombproof, 10% of the time bombscare. Been that way since he walked in the door, that's simply his level. He doesn't make a lot of errors but the ones he does make almost always lead to a goal, it's just like a great goalkeeper. He needs to put it behind him & move on, which he's done dozens of times before - we need to do the same. The Bluenose song🤣 gave me a laugh (& a shudder!). I'd forgotten about the karaoke bouncy head (Broxi Bear head was it not?). I'd guessed the DJ just kept FARE-friendly Rangers tunes coming to avoid any silence or gap which may have led to supporter 'favourites' being started in the stands - he'd clearly got to the bottom of the playlist by that point!! Well done to Lewis & Jenny for their support of the Beatson and all the best of luck &🤞for favourable weather during the 3 peaks.

David Harrison

Why didn’t Rangers say how long Tavs contract extension is for? Seems an odd thing to not mention….

David Harrison

Also, I’d have definitely kept Balogun. Yes he has had injuries, but look at Souter. We signed him and he got injured again after 2 matches. That’s simply embarrassing. Balogun was quick, strong, good in the air. Really should have kept him if he wanted to stay.

Bradley johnson

Ally again showing why he couldn’t manage a prayer in a church

Graeme McLeod

Can't say I agree about Sands being helpful at building out from the back in the second half. As the game went on Borna was having to come back deeper to take passes from him, and eventually we were stuck in a rut of passing it about the back. I'm not saying that's all on Sands - and Goldson having a bad night probably has a knock-on effect on him - but I think it's obvious he's being played out of position. And at SPFL level I don't really understand the reluctance to play King instead. For all the stick Borna comes in for, playing next to a right footed midfielder being played out of position cannot be helping him. It also can't help when we're defending set pieces that we only really have one centre back on the pitch.

John Walker

What a great tune .iconic album. We have lost height in the defence and don't look a threat as much in the other box either . What is the story with helander ?

Gary Nisbet

I remember him coming out and trying to lead the crowd in singing his song and gradually dying on his feet as no one joined in.

Lewis Anderson

Thanks for the shout Davie and the donations so far guys appreciated 🤝🏻
