Point to note both the subs on Tuesday were stripped & ready to come on at 1-1. So Gio was making them regardless of Lawrence’s goal or not

Genuine question... How do you differentiate between 'poor form' and 'not fully fit'. These comments always seems subjective to me and are allocated according to 'levels' of players and their performance... eg Kent is 'not fully fit' after a poor showing even when its in the middle of a season... against Wright has a 'poor performance'

Mark Boyd

I’m officially a total loser cause loved the zonal chat 😂 Truth is pure zonal or pure man marking doesn’t work. What Stevie said is I think correct. You have to have someone who is going to go where the ball goes to contest. You have to have man to man to be touch tight and you need zonal for balls dropping. Great pod 👌🏽

Steven Harrigan

I don't Wright is very good at that level. If that helps. Kent looked unfit to me, just my observation.

Kev Armstrong

I was always man marking guy till I seen us get out thought by lower league teams. Now I am in the mixed camp.

Gordon Black

I was using Kent and Wright as examples of my point and not specifiy towards you.... Kent / Morelos not playing well.. "not looking fully fit"... Some others not playing its a straightforward dip in form.. Trying to understand the nuance.. Maybe Kamara is a better example of "loss of form" when you could argue its more to do with system..

Would be Intresting to hear people's opinion regarding Wednesdays game. If we are going to have limited chances against PSV going on the fact we are away from home and up against a tough opponent On current form which striker would you want in the box to finish these chances? On the flip side of that which striker is going to help us create more chances for others? It's a tough decision and one I don't envy, either way keep up the good work, WATP.

See if there are only two teams playing and you can definitely lose the tie after the first leg how can you say that you can't win it after the first leg? 🤔

Scott Watson

Can't believe Steven is only just back from Mouseville and he's straight in to the comments of the last pod to rip off my point about Davis having a case as actually being the best average performer under Gio despite limited chances. This is the chilling effect that exposure to even limited amounts of Disney has on people Just kidding, it's obviously actually just a case of great minds thinking alike 😃 Cracking pod gentlemen - really enjoyed the detailed discussion on marking systems and the ways we start convincing ourselves We find ourselves in a bit of a tricky situation where we've got Davies, Yilmaz and Morelos who we would probably all expect to be first picks once fully fit but for various reasons it's not straightforward to get them into the team to get sharp. That semi-final debacle was an absolute catastrophe on the left side of defence against Boyle and throwing both Davies and Yilmaz in seems fraught with risk when they've never played together, they've barely played at all and Yilmaz looked a touch tentative against Kilmarnock Think there's been lots of positive signs in the last few games and it might end up with a comfortable 3-0 win

Stevie Davis was class the other night and I know it wouldn't have gone unnoticed by the PSV Eindhoven backroom staff

Think the point made late on if hibs want to press us play Kent and Matondo and turn hibs and press them back ..... its what they did to us in that lge cup semi final

William Hughes

Standing jump doesn't win against a running start and leap. Plus the fact we don't have a fit CH who wins headers with any regulatory in our box or the oppositions.
