Was I the only one when group C was still looming who was shouting at the screen "Bring it on, Yaya!"?

Ian Gillies

Nope me too! Tillman this season’s Bassey?

Colin Mathie

We have to carry this forward and start improving domestically, starting with 3pts at the weekend.

I think Andy makes a really good point on Yilmaz - rushing him in to the team for some of the big matches coming up in the next month just because we've paid decent money for him doesn't make sense for him or for the team

Liverpool are definitely beatable at home if we get them early, they're always good for a poor result in the groups.

On the finances - we made €16.7m in prize money for getting to the final. We're making €15.6m just for being in the group stages, and only need 2 points to make more prize money this season than last season.

I think with the domestic issue - Gio isn't a bad domestic manager; our identity under Gio (and Gerrard) is a team that controls teams and wears teams down. This has its positives - it's why we've been much better than Celtic in Europe over the last 4 seasons. Domestically though, Celtic seem to be set up to blow teams away in the first half of games (they struggle a lot in games where they're not winning at half time), which is probably more conducive to winning a title.

I think this chat about styles of play domestically/European is a bit overplayed….yeah we don’t blow teams away but we blew it in games last season because of small margins, not because we struggled to break down defences…Ross County was a freak show,2-0 going on 5 V Motherwell and drawing 2-2,same could be said against Hearts at Ibrox when they score in the last minute….Tannadice in March were we have about 30 shots on goal,3 glaring chances and 2 stonewall pens denied….we’re talking inches and seconds from winning the title last year
