Need players today. Its that simple. Prices at Ibrox for everything is a joke - we pay it, to see a Lge winning team. We have to win the Lge this year. Its not up for debate. Ahead at Xmas every season for the last 4 season and won the Lge once. Not good enough. Europe has been incredible but that success has to be seen to have improved us domestically.

Mark

If we are talking about players to improve the squad, rather than starters, then I would far rather we gave the chance to our own promising youngsters than spend to bring in journeymen signings, or academy players from 'bigger' leagues. Let's not allow this talent to go to waste!

Ryan Stewart

We came into this transfer window needing a starting quality RW and CM regardless of any player sales. It’s deadline day and we still need these players with no sign of them coming in. Ultimately only time will tell whether the window has been a success but it’s hard not to feel like we have left ourselves short again.

chris smith

Seems that CL is not the attraction we thought, we dont actually have extensive lists of scouted options and that we still have financial issues … on a day when the club are taking 9m from the fans … who knew?

Pedro

Cracking goal mentioned from the B Team, but would argue the McCausland one was better

Robbie McCarroll

The lack of reliable CHs is a worry and Matondo / Wright isn’t a consistent high calibre option on the right. With Lawrence injured we have only have Tillman in that advanced midfield role. Taking a big unnecessary risk ! Tying Alfie and Kent down now is critical.

Colin Ferguson

Chris Sutton... I think the word you are looking for David, is, Serpent!!

Graham Jones

I’d forgotten about the Lisa Stansfield one. Just put up a warning if there’s anything explicit and they know not for kids. It wouldn’t be Scottish if there wasn’t the odd swear word, though. I’d like to now why the board are holding back with the money, to be honest. Is it a strategy to build from free transfers? Because it certainly looks like it. Or are they holding back money for a stadium expansion. I’d argue that the first team is a bit more important right now. Stadium building is usually a chairman or CEO thinking about their legacy rather than what’s really needed. Prime Ministers are often the same, where they want to point to something they did for the country, and this has the same feel to it. I just hop they’re holding back on us, and make us look stupid tonight. 🤞

Rod

After we signed Yilmaz Gio said we were done unless anyone was sold and everyone was fine with it. Now suddenly we need all these extra players added to an already big squad. I'm fine as is.

Delgers

Will wait till midnight before I give my opinion on the board.

Its not looking likely according to Sky Sports Gio said our business is all done, if we do sell Kamara and don't bring anyone in it would be pretty unforgivable to weaken and not strengthen.

Scott Parker

Ice Docking!! Lisa Stansfield! Golden times 😂🤣😂🤣

Mark

Are we back to hating Ross Wilson tomorrow? It's hard to keep up

David Innes

I agree - wasn’t really expecting another big signing unless we had to replace Kent or Morelos. The squad is too big as it is. Kamara leaving would be a blow for the CL but not domestically as it just pushes McCann up the pecking order.

Stephen

Not too bothered if we don’t sign anyone. The next window isn’t that far away considering the league shuts down for 5 weeks during the first half of this season. A lot of our current squad issues are due to injury so hopefully we will have some of them back soon and give some of the better younger players more minutes too.

William

I think we need to acknowledge our transfer dealings were completed early. Not leaving our dealings to the last day, has provided us with 7 new signings, 3 of which have greatly assisted in our progression to the champions league.

Martin Davies

We were never going to spend money with the intention of competing in the CL. We could spend £100m and still finish bottom of the group we're in. But I do worry about our strength in depth domestically. We have a big squad but it's got far more than it's fair share of crocks. Factor in the condition and form of Morelos and Jack, the age of Davis, Arfield and McGregor, the mentality of Borna, Lawrence is injured, etc. We look weak going i to a hugely important couple of months.

Graham johnston

There's literly only one club in the world who could be as successful domestically yet r convinced everyone is against them. I'm scundered for them. Sutton is their cheerleader and he needs to be challenged. Why does Scottish football have to have someone who claims one of their professional teams let Rangers beat them and all the trolling against us. It's embarrassing

Gary Brown

Thanks for the update David. Personally not fussed about any last minute transfers in, I'll be happy to support anyone we get, not gonna wail & moan if we get no one in. No point in just buying for the sake of it, especially when we're perceived to be flush with cash. We're a better squad now that at the end of last season. Nico, I hope you fare well, literally. Once a Ranger...big guy! Ice Docking? Lisa Stansfield? Sounds intriguing!! ps - Sutton??? TBH in this day & age we really shouldn't mention him without using his proper pronoun - 'That total wank' Sorry any kiddies reading but it's better you learn from good people that bad language can be used about bad people! (But wee Teds, just don't do it in front of Mum & Dad!🤫😉)

Allister

Bring back Van Den Akker and ice docking stories!

Stephen

I think people get a bit carried away with the final day of the transfer window to be honest. We signed about 6(?) players in a 2 week period earlier in the summer but I bet if we had only signed 4 players then and 2 today people wouldn’t be as bothered about things.

G Calder

We haven't turned a profit in YEARS . This will hopefully + should happen this year . There is a MASSIVE financial crisis on the horizon - this will Hugely effect the club IMO( inflation + less fan disposable income -my bills are going up - so will the clubs ) We NEED to be in a good shape for this .. Rangers have NOT been creaming huge profits from the fans - there has been NO profit to trouser or fleece us .. I feel fleeced by my governments & energy companies - not Rangers . Im not suggesting it's anywhere like 2012 - but isn't everyone still a bit spooked by that ? I am . We have a squad that got us to the champions league .. 4 VERY Tough games meanwhile Celtc have been playing Aberdeen+ Dundee unt etc - let's see how they are when they are also playing real teams on a Tuesday + Wednesday. In an ideal world we would blow the profits on players - I don't think we can . Let's see the financial figures before we criticise the board .. I actually seen a photo of ' sack the board' on twitter !! I thought it a parody - it wasn't.

Luke

Fuck me, we played Aribo up front in the Europa League final and are now going into the season with one striker. Will we ever learn?

G Calder

Some might argue that we should learn from our financial troubles in the past ?

Delgers

Board have managed to turn positivity of getting into the champs league, into a massive PR own goal. Premium prices with not even one new player!! Won't be renewing the 3 kids mygers next season. Only a small thing but will be cutting back on the amount I spend other than season tickets!

Michael Thomson

It’s absolutely essential that H&H, as fan media, go hard on the lack on transfers since PSV at the press conference tomorrow. It is completely unacceptable that, on a day the club are taking MILLIONS from the bank accounts of fans, nothing is happening transfer wise.

Delgers

Customers bank accounts! They only see us as Customers who they milk repeatedly

G Calder

Are folk really thinking we hade a 'fat cat' board that have been creaming off profits & not investing in the team ? Really ?

Craig

Is this the same as space docking? I’ll just leave there …

G Calder

Fans are asking , no DEMANDING, the board spend money without knowing if we can afford it ? Too much back of fag packet accounting going on with figures lifted from tabloids '' £40m from UEFA'

Michael Thomson

The window’s closed now David. You said yourself you were being more reserved in your criticism until later. We now know for certain we haven’t bought anyone since pocketing tens of millions that wasn’t budgeted for. The tabloid rags won’t ask the question, it’s down to fan media. I also don’t think the club give a fuck about what you or anyone else says on social media tbh. I’m meaning to be critical of you, you done the right thing not going hard today before the final outcome was know. But now it is the fans deserve answers.

Luke

So playing a Europa League final with no striker is what we are settling on then?

Heart and Hand

All we can do is use the platform we have, which is speak on our shows and our socials. We can ask questions but it doesn’t mean we’ll get answers. And really, what do the words mean anyway? Judge them by their actions.

Heart and Hand

I’ll ask Gio about it tomorrow but I think we can all guess what he’ll say. The AGM will be very interesting though - no hiding place there.

Michael Thomson

Yeah I get that. I just thinks it’s important the questions are asked out with our echo chamber. AGM will be interesting right enough. Pretty toxic I’d imagine if the lack of strengthening bites us on the arse.

David McBurney

Just for argument sake had we gone out and signed more players what does that do the morale of King Lowry McCann etc etc. They fall down the pecking order and eventually disappear. We can't demand the youth get a chance Andy then flood the squad with average joes

G Calder

You know what. . yes - I'd love to have won it - but if we are getting to Europa cup league finals ,+into the champions league every season I'd be MORE than happy . I'm glad the board has opted for financial stability Gio will know MUCH More than you & I about the finances - so perhaps that's why he is happy ,? Perhaps he agreed it's for the best for the club ? I ask you & any one else reading - when the finances are published - how much would too much profit be? If after decades of losses we make 5-6 m would you be thinking - we should have blown that on a player ? We seem to be running in perpetual debt ? I'm hoping this is the end of that. It's so important that after a great period of income we prove we can turn a bit of a profit. . if we never after all that income I"d be worried - we are in serious problems IMO The club should be aiming to be self financing - that was our model Perhaps this is it ? You & I have NO Idea about the finances - pure speculation . So we are both guessing We all are . You are asking the board to spend money without having a clue if we can afford it. I ask those screaming we should be spending more - How do you know we can afford this ? I hope it's not the '£40 from the champions league' Being financially self efficient is a very important thing for our club - I am hopeful we are now on that road - Soft loans etc every season won't work. We have not turned a profit for DECADES . interesting question - when was the last year in the black ?

Luke

I’m happy about the money we have spent, we seem to have invested it in sensible areas of the squad. A few project players and a few players that have fit right in to the squad. You’re right, nobody knows the finances behind the scene but I’d expect the money to be there if there’s an emergency in certain areas of the squad. How many years have they been running this mygers scheme that every fan buys into? The scheme that is promised to be “invested in to club”? Every fan knows that we were short of a striker last season and now we are short of a striker again. Colak is now our only option for the 4 competitions that we are competing in. I fall in the group of people that think we would have won the Europa League last season if we had any striker fit and ready to play, it bit us in the arse last season. Let’s hope the same doesn’t happen again. I’m not saying go out and spend money for the sake of spending, we really needed another striker and that’s what I’m gutted about.

Luke

To say there isn’t money there for another striker when; -we got to the final of the Europa league, -qualified for champions league, -sold 3 of our biggest assets and management team from the seasons before, -have a membership scheme that every fan must buy into -rip the arse out of CL prices .. is just a bit silly in my opinion. Given we brought in players like Kamara for £50k.
