Andy B and Rob return for another episode of Heart and Sand, with Rob now re-re-located back in Hong Kong after his short stint in The Emirates - We’ll hear his sob story.

The lads are joined by the CRO-pods very own Shane Nicholson who reveals all, including why he’s never visited Ibrox and how living in Rockwood, Illinois is more dangerous than Helmand Province.

Brilliant show guys 👍🏻

Thanks Andy & Rob for another superb Heart & Sand, one of my favourite shows on H&H. Even more so with special guest Shane, a proper 'ringer' brought in - absolutely brilliant as ever👍. Andy raised a very valid point re the board being ultra cautious - its a very uncertain economic landscape. They've said "never again" (re 2012-15) and "ensuring a Rangers for the next 150yrs" many times. The fans hear of big money and want it spent on players now. Kind of like a lottery win; Me "Ya dancer, lets buy helicopters & ferraris" Mrs "We pay off all our debts, put the rest away for a rainy day and can treat ourselves now & then" Baseball. With you 100% Shane such an amazingly technical and tactical sport, over & above the physical side. Rob & Andy the catcher is a pivotal player, controls pitching tactics and pace of the game - quivalent to a centre back + #6 + captain. Maybe not an epic fail on the guilty pleasure Shane but definitely only partial credit - no guilt, solely pleasure 🤣🤣

Shane

I feel guilt, Gaz. I am generally a nice sort of guy, or at least people have developed that expectation of me. But sometimes I just really don't want to talk to anyone and I'm not sure there's a better way to convey that than a big bastarding set of cans on your head.

Gregg

Great shout on the goal - mols was electric that day

David Kiltie

Well done on a great discussion, guys. Apropos the lack of big spending, perhaps the board’s strategy is to make the shift to being FFP-compliant long term. A possible parallel, however hazy - the early to mid eighties pre-Souness were dire in terms of results and performance but the one positive development was the rebuilding of Ibrox, in which Rangers were ahead of the rest of the footballing world, never mind Scotland. We reaped the benefit a decade later. We remember the horrendous downsizing in the noughties as the price David Murray’s extravagance and hubris was claimed. Obviously we want no repeat of that cycle.

Shane

I elaborated further on those points on a couple midweek shows. Kinda like on the CROpod big show on Friday, I didn't feel like fully rehashing a bunch of shit that pissed me off for a good chunk of the week 😂 But they're both available over on the CROpod network if you wanna hear more.

Shane

That second from Reyna that day is nearly as good. Think he started that move as well, iirc. Certainly finished it flying into the camera shot from out of nowhere.

Shane

Btw, if anyone needs it for their bingo card, it's Rockford, Illinois. Rockwood, Illinois is a downstate village that is the headquarters of the Middle Mississippi River National Wildlife Refuge.

Shane

To Andy's credit, I just discovered that there is a Rockwood in this state, with a booming population of 25 per the 2020 US Census, or roughly 0.017% of the population of my city.

Rob Shorthouse

We are still looking for guests for the show, so if anyone fancies coming on - let us know.

William Cameron

Great pod. Been listening to Cropod for sometime now but that was the first time I had heard the backstory of Shane and Rangers. Enjoyable series.
