Adam hosts Martyn and Ross to look back on Saturday's emphatic 4-0 win at Tynecastle to discuss what we learned from the game and what it means for the upcoming pre-World cup fixture block.

We also look ahead to tomorrow night's Champions League match at Anfield and briefly discuss matters off the pitch over the international break.

I think the 'Čolak is rubbish outside the box' is because he doesn't compare favourably to Morelos in that regard. I don't think he would get the same criticism if he was replacing Roofe for example.

On Arfield, if his feet could do what his head wants him to do, he'd probably still be playing at a level above us.

I see Tom Lawrence broke down in training and is out for months. Why is this happening and especially for so long. It's never a week or two but months. Any ideas?

Good listen as always. All podcasts that have been released over past 3 days have had very low levels of volume on my tablet. Have the recording levels been reduced as othercpods I listen to are perfect played at half volume levels.

Hopefully not jumping the gun here, but the idea of Celtic being this all-singing, all dancing, high-powered juggernaut seems to be coming under question. A 2-1 defeat and a rather scrappy 2-1 victory at home to Motherwell underline we’re not talking Pep’s City here. All teams, and how they play, eventually get found out; perhaps SPL teams are beginning to realise they can give Celtic a game after all?

Craig

With Sands I get the same worry I had with Khizanishvilli and Ross McCrorie that he's not physical enough to be a centre half, and not good enough on the ball to make it as a midfielder, at least not at Rangers.

Martyn 100% correct about Colak, when chances are few and far between you want a clinical striker. I’m happy to admit Morelos did us a job but his style of play is so limited and his striking is erratic. If Colak was playing for them they would be bumming him up to the heavens yet we are determined to play him down as one dimensional. Adam also 100% correct that we are in danger of making out as he is clinical he has nothing else to his game. For me Colak is the first choice 9 until Alfie starts banging in enough to force Gio to play both or he simply can’t be left out as he has finally screwed the nut and grown up. Morelos ‘rag dolling’ people is as much a liability as it is a bonus I’m bored of waiting for his next explosion or I’ll discipline and I think what we desperately need to to ditch what we have been doing from SG era and move direction by letting Gio implement a new style not hark back. Great to hear some sense on the abilities of Colak finally. On a different note I think we need to stop pinning our hopes on Kent sustaining any form for an extended period. It’s about as likely as Helander being fit or Roofe playing more than half a dozen games. We do this a lot, If a guy can get fit, if a guy can get a goal, if we can get him up to speed etc but history tells you with Kent this is one of the few goals he will score and he will maybe get a few more (possibly a few more important one) but overall his numbers won’t merit the star player tag we give him, he just doesn’t do enough often enough. Arfield is an empty jersey for me, Adam nailed it he almost does loads of good stuff but he far far too often is wasteful, if you watch him he is little more than a headless chicken who gets a pass for effort. Really enjoyed this pod, some great discussion.

Listening to Adam describe Arfield in that was way weird because it was exactly what I've said about him in the past. The amount of amazing stuff that never quite comes off for him is ridiculous.

Couldn’t agree more with Adam regarding Arfield….one of my favourite players since Gerrard came in…not great on Saturday but could have had a hat trick on another day…since day 1 I’ve always felt he’s been a half yard off being an outstanding player…nearly every game he plays,he either scores or nearly scores…still has a massive part to play for me

The guy has played his part and is a good pro but a bit like other guys we have had we out grew him about two seasons ago. It’s not his lack of effort but if I got a game I would give 110%, I would be absolutely gash though. My big bugbear is something Martyn touched on with Kent, if your in the attack you need to get goals and the reality is Arfield is too erratic, yes he gets in the positions but it’s almost a waste as you know his strike rate is about 1 in 10 and we have too many like that up top.

Colak does the ultimate job a striker needs to do, which is to score. Until or unless he stops doing that he should continue to start. I think the rest of his game took time to settle because it takes time to settle with a team and now we're really starting to see all he has to offer. I still think Alfie has a roll to play, and I would still like to see him in behind Colak but if not, it's Colak's jersey to loose. I've always found the narrative around Sands being played out of position to be a little bit of a misnomer (though there are criticisms to make of his game) as he played just as many, if not more games at CB before coming to Rangers. I do think long term that Davies and King will be better options, though Sands is absolutely useful for a back three. I think some of the criticism given here about his physicality and speed of passing could easily be addressed with time if he gets the chance to play in DM and is coached/works the gym with that in mind. We have aging players in midfield whom are likely going to be left go at the end of the season (i.e. Davis, Jack, Arfield...) so there are spaces opening up and I think he has a lot to offer. If the price is right I think he's a good option to retain and could be a good partner with Lundsrum giving him more licence to push forward. I do agree though I worry his game time will be limited moving forward. If he barely plays between now and the end of the season I see us potentially letting him go, which I think will be a shame as it just adds more pressure to find another replacement in a window where we'll be shopping for a lot. On Arfield, I've enjoyed having him at the club and he's given us a lot in his time. I do think we're starting to see his limits as he gets older though he still has plenty to give from the bench. One big thing that's often overlook that I think Arfield has been key in is mentality. Seeing him come in with confidence, laughing at Celtic players and getting Scott Brown riled up in particular was something we sorely needed at the time and can't be underestimated. He is just lacking a little bit of composure in key moments which is his biggest draw back. I have at least three or four key shots from Europe in mind that he should have scored. Overall though he's been an excellent signing and I'll be sad to see him go.
