S Kelly should have been given 7,8 games, a very gifted boy and hope he does well, we go out and buy some dross and never give youth a chance. I really hope the same doesn’t happen with lowry McCann and long, they need games.

After having sometime to reflect David I've changed my tune. Was it a difficult watch, absolutely, but it took an absolute worldy of a freekick and a penalty. If it wasn't for those, we good have defended our way to a 0-0 draw and if we had done Rangers Twitter would be entirely different lol. We'd probably have been happy with that. Think some Rangers fan screaming to the hills for Gio to be sacked is entirely to far. We're 2 points of Celtic, they're picking up injuries and are looking fatigued already, as I said they would back in August. Remember this David, we'll be top of the league by the World Cup 😎

Paul

No belief. No wonder when you listen to the manager! He has sucked the life out of this team. We don't play with any intensity or style. Wasn't expecting us to beat Liverpool but Jesus at least have a plan when we actually had the ball. Ryan Kent has flattered to deceive for years.

John Smith

Me personally David, I’d rather go out and get tonked having a pop than just parking the bus like jobbers. I don’t mean “Angeball” levels of just running about like nutters and getting picked off, but I’d like to see us approach all big opponents like an old firm

Jock Paterson

I think we will see more players run down their contract like Goldson. I don’t think he was ever leaving - unless for a mental offer, but the signing on fee tops up that wage ceiling the board refuse to break. Risky business.

Martin Boyd

Besides Dortmund we have not been great away from home under Gio, at home different matter , I include Napoli in that as it was even until the sending off. I think we will give them a right good game next Wednesday. As for Kent I expect he will run down his contract he looks like Laudrup did in his last season, not the same class obviously.

We consider young players ‘kids’ for far too long, at 20 in football your not a youth player your making it as a pro or your not going to make it. If your good enough you should get the game time, we pretend to like the idea of bringing guys through but don’t take the chance to actually do it enough.

Scott Moore

Are the Rangers support prepared to accept short term disappointment for longer term gain? Not a chance in hell. No rangers manager would survive it. Look at the reactions to some of the recent wins never mind defeats.

Hope we can get shot of Kent in January. Would be surprised if an EPL team would come in for him. He’s just not consistent enough for that level.

Thanks for the update David. Anfield - We have to acknowledge where Rangers are in world football and where Liverpool, Ajax & Napoli are. In the same CL group but worlds apart, financially, technically and mentally. We have come a long way, making great leaps over the past 5 years (achievements unmatched by many Rangers sides with far more investment, experience & stablility). But even with that, right now we are still way behind in experience at this level. Only 3 games, this past month, in a decade!! But we ARE learning. The game plan is clearly identical to most SPFL visitors to Ibrox, fearing a tanking, safe football, nick something if you can but keep them out / it tight until 75 mins then actually have a go, try n nick an undeserved point or a more undeserved win. It is clearer each game what Gio is considering. Ajax won their home game v us, we do the same to them, a point anywhere = 3rd and Europa (🤞they dont nick a point!) I wholeheartedly agree our youngsters almost never, get the first team gametime they required to develop. With most just drifting away, for minimal fees or contracts expired. (which cannot continue if the trading model is to work!) However I'm very interested in podder & patron opinions as to any young player who left and then excelled, you know 'the one that got away!', like De Bruyne at Chelsea, maybe Sterling at Liverpool. Who is/are ours? Any suggestions? Billy Gibson? Not really as that was the closest thing to player trading we did in the decade between Hutton & Patterson. Sold in desperation to keep the lights on with Chelsea paying over the odds as I recall.

David Innes

Tend to agree - he’s certainly not much better than Dan James who Leeds were happy to send out on loan

Andrew Mathieson

I’ve been Kent’s biggest apologist, he was a massive part in 55 and the EL runs. Arguably has paid back his transfer fee but can’t help think that £7m out and no profit made is not how we should be doing business

David Kiltie

Last night’s result in Amsterdam puts our home game v Napoli in a different light but it makes our horror show v Ajax all the more disappointing.

David Kiltie

Ajax are seen as the ideal version of the player-trading model. We have made a start - Patterson, Aribo, Bassey - and we need to develop a virtuous circle of buying in/ developing better players and selling for higher and higher fees. Much is made of Clubbe Brugge’s results in the UCL this season. They have played in the UCL for several seasons now - we are years behind them in that cycle and nothing can substitute for the experience of playing top quality opponents. Enduring some drubbings is part of the learning experience as we seek to establish ourselves at this level.

Greg

Never mind seagulls fans , what about SPRINGFIELD fans?

David

I know Kent is not at his best, but he should have been sold in the summer, same with Alfie. If any of these players leave for free then someone needs to get their jotters for this. None of our sellable assets should be allowed to run down into the last 6 months of a contract.

chris smith

Kent should be told, move in Jan for a fee or face 4 months without football
