Totally agree Stephen 👍 as someone who was supporting Benn going in to this fight, I’ve lost all my respect for him. Hearn as usual doing his spin doctor manoeuvres but I expected better from Connor. The board’s actions added on to all of that just gives the sport yet another black eye 😔

Totally agree re Benn. I was a huge fan of him and his improvement but everything he’s done now is tainted I’m afraid. Like I said in the pod, I like Hearn and Matchroom too but they’ve gone too far with this and their actions have been disgusting. There’s a lot of people involved who need to answer some serious questions. Thanks for listening as always John!

Thanks for the detailed explanation on this one Stephen, like you I agree it’s a disgusting shambles and the greed of some people is horrible and I just can’t understand this. There must be consequences here for all wrongdoers but I’m not holding my breath. Boxing always has a way of giving itself a black eye!

I followed the coverage of the fight and the different shows/pods on what happened. Really decent concise pod mate, cheers. The main takeaway from the mess for me is that it's just really murky, but what Conor Benn and his team have to do now is clarify the situation with the B sample and then either own his mistake or have his name cleared and claim contamination which hasn't happened in pro boxing (that I know of).

Thanks for the kind words Russ really appreciated. What you’re saying is spot on in theory but the question would be why haven’t they done this by now? If someone accuses me of failing a drug test then the very first thing I’d do is demand they test the B sample which hadn’t happened by Wednesday and I don’t think it’s been done even now. I think you’re right that he should own it if he’s taken this drug. He’ll get some real serious flak but in the long run it’s the best thing he can do.

That's it though isn't it, what are the odds on that B sample never seeing the light of day? By the looks of it Benn and his team thought they either got away with it or thought they were in the clear with the second test (ukad?).

I have only just caught up with this pod today, thanks for breaking it all down. Thankfully I had only forked out for the PPV. Just as well there is some decent boxing on this coming weekend to take my mind off this farce.
