Jimmy Millar

RANGERS Football Club is saddened by the news of the death of our former player, Jimmy Millar. Starting his career at Dunfermline, Millar was signed by Scot Symon in January 1955 and went on to enjoy a 12-year spell at Ibrox.

R.I.P Jimmy. Deepest condolences to his friends and family 💙

David Herd

A player I wish I had watched play, although my dad told me about him so often I almost feel like I did see him. He may be gone, but his name at Ibrox is immortal.

Douglas Hannah

My older brothers and my father all raved about Jimmy Millar, a real true blue in every sense.💙💙

James Martin

R.I.P Jimmy. Great player, one of my favourites of that era, I saw him play against Evans , McNeil and Ure and he always came out on top . Condolences to his family .

Alan Bradley

Sad news indeed. R.I.P Jimmy. 💙

My all time Rangers Player, Two incidents that stick in my mind, the man head and shoulders of the match when we beat Septic at Hampden when Kai’s screamer beat a very good Ronnie Simpson. Jimmy had dropped into mid field (nearing the end of his career) where absolutely Ruled it, Thou Shall Not Pass! The other was at Ibrox quite a low crowd, Jimmy and the rest of the team weren’t playing all that well, the support took it on him to hurl abuse, second half came and Jimmy had enough, so he turned faced the main stand, and dropped his shorts and let the Coo Shed (Sandy Jardine) know what he thought of them, hilarity was instant, memory serves me correct he got booked! I’ve said it on FF many a time, cut Jimmy in two and there would be rings RFC RFC RFC RFC, there’s only one Jimmy Millar, as a tear comes to my eye. A true Ranger unlike what we have now, with modern day players!
