Alex, Steven and Kevin look ahead to our final Champions League group stage match at Ibrox on Tuesday evening against Ajax.

We look at what to expect from our visitors and answer the first part of the questions posed by you, our wonderful listeners.

With regards to the question about any Scottish players, I’d be looking at doing a swap deal with Hearts. Scott Wright for Barrie McKay

Greg

Barrie Mackay is where he belongs, hearts are his level, big fish.

Gary Morris

Felt Connor Barron showed well in the first half on Saturday before fading badly in second half. Scott Wright isn’t the answer but not convinced McKay is much of an upgrade sadly. Only real benefit would be to the home grown rule.

Steven

Sign Sands, he will be your Jack replacement and will be a better player

Martyn Dick

Cheers for answering my question on the show lads….think I agree with Alex’s point that motivation and belief will play a part in running stats (and therefore the ‘fitness eye test’) Seen against Aberdeen that the players were full of it for the full 90

Christina Herriot

Totally disagree with Kevin. I thought Kent had a decent game.

Gregg

Think sands needs a run in midfield to properly judge him. Think it’s harsh to say he does lots of things averagely - we have a small ample size. He doesn’t have the passing range of say, Davis, but he does have physicality, energy and ball winning ability. When yilmaz is in the side I think we will need a sitter - arguably if he had a superb range of passing as well, he’s probably not with us. Takes different skills sets to make a good midfield - if we have 5 attacking players ahead of him, two very attacking full backs, I’m okay with that.

My results are boosted by getting to listen to the preview before I make a prediction 😃

You don't get full international caps at the age of 21 for the USA (who've been to 8/9 world cups including Qatar) without having quite a lot going for you I'd like to see him and Lundstram together for the rest of our domestic games before the world cup break and we'd have a much better idea, I think quite a few people would be pleasantly surprised

Scott Watson

I think those injuries/suspension are about the worst possible thing that could have happened to us - Ridvan/Davies/Sands/Lundstram were just starting to offer a glimmer of hope that we had got the jigsaw pieces in the right places and getting more out of everyone else around them and now we need to start a new puzzle without those pieces who would be full of confidence Gio made the point in the presser that despite the final scores, we'd been well in the game for 60-65mins in the other home games and I'd expect the same again but we are right down to the bare bones, maybe even the marrow and I'm not sure we'll be able to sustain it for 90 minutes so sadly, it's me who is the doom merchant this week, I think we'll go down 2-1

Scott Watson

Maybe there was some method to the recruitment madness 🤔 I think we haven't seen enough to really say but it absolutely wouldn't surprise me if he gets an extended run in the second half of this season and everyone is pretty comfortable with the idea of letting Jack go with our thanks and Sands filling that role in the squad for games that need it

LAURENCE MACRAE

A great listen as usual Gents. I agree with Alex and Kevin , I think Sands could be a good signing and I would take Tillman permanently but we have until the end of the season to decide on both.

Pedro

The first great performance of the season. Very welcome. Telling to hear management and the players agree with most fans that this was a rare glimpse of how it could be and that we've been way, way below par for the season.

I am now wondering which experience the preview-podders found more palatable, having completed both. The post-Manchester 08/09 European disaster (Kaunas), or this seasons post-Seville disaster. It's a tricky one. We know that we went on to win the league that season, at the expense of making redundancies, trying to sell Boyd etc., and it took a while to re-establish some confidence in Europe again. Pull the plaster off fast or slow?
