Colin is joined by Alex and Cammy after 3 points on a cold, wet night at the stadium.

Alex Staff, the voice of sanity and rational thought as always. I actually thought the team did really well to dig it out tonight and Kent and Alfie started to look a wee bit more like themselves in the second 45. If we can get to the WC without losing any more ground, who knows what can happen? We've been on the wrong side of coming back a different side after the break before, maybe we can come out of it the right side for a change. Thanks for the pod, guys. Great listen.

The logic of Alex's point is (as usual) sound - if Gio had lost the players, I don't see how they come out in the second half and find a win - or come back so well against Aberdeen Was really hoping for another mention of Talik Millman 😀

Gregg

Good point on the cut backs - wish we’d vary it and try more cut backs/ low deliveries. And try a short corner or two ffs

Gino Ginelli🤣🤣Showing your age Colin!

The crossing is lazy and ineffective. I know Alex equates no of crosses to working hard but i couldn't disagree more. It is taking the easy way out. Tonight was rotten again. Hardly anyone can fool themselves that we're going anywhere good with Gio. Desperate stuff.

Good pod again. Glad others felt the unease in the crowd to be a wee bit different from the usal grumps snd groans. Scoptoma (or scotoma if you prefer) rife around me. It was far from good but lots of people now choosing only to see what they want to see. That's on both sides of the debate. Others it appeared to me actively hoping for an opportunity to boo. Even with the clear improvement 2nd half that didn't really change. Sitting waiting for things to go wrong is just odd to me. Anyway as I say. Wasn't great, but seen worse that was met with a shrug and an oh well its 3 points rather than held up as evidence of inevitable failure or signs of improvement. It was neither, just 3 points against probably the best of the rest. Thr relationship between fans and players is symbiotic and it is clearly off at present. The reasons have been debated to death. Here's hoping the next 4 weeks are a reset for us all.

Really appreciate hearing Alex on pods these days as the burn it all to the ground narrative is incredibly wearing. Nobody is happy clapping or deluding themselves it’s all going swimmingly but I personally find the constant doubling down on negativity is making me listen less and less. Constructive points from Cammy and fair comment around some of the issues but at least we got some actually discussion around the factors that are contributing to the slump. Not sure I can really relate to the turning up to games gleefully waiting for failure mentality of many, my default is hope so to hear at least a few out there feel the same is encouraging. Great pod gents👍🏻

Pedro

Apologies if I picked you up wrong? It was post Livi game pod I think where discussion was around lack of effort and workrate from the team that you countered with the number of crosses we put in. As I said, apols if that's not the case. As I said, I think these lazy, take the easy option crosses are a bad sign and symptomatic of a manager and team out of ideas.

Think Tillman gets a raw deal at times , Cammy nailed it with his comments and is it a case where the other players around him might not be as intelligent as he is . He looks to make opposition players commit a challenge on him so as to evade them and when tracking them he bides his time to put in the appropriate challenge .

Bob MacCallum

Tillman getting a hard time was a disgrace. He has skill, vision, ability to turn opponents and surge forward. Goal threat in the box too. He's NOT lazy as some fans think. He has a languid style that annoys fans but we just have to accept that and focus on what he brings to the team. With more of the injured players around him, he'd be better and a luxury we can afford.

Great pod and really enjoyed Alex's comments near the end of the pod. I really think the magnitude of the injuries we have is being overlooked by some and it definitely is hindering our play on the pitch as well. Great point about Tav possibly not going forward as much to help cover for king. I am definitely in the minority who believes that gio can turn it around when we have some of the key injured players back, again just my opinion and I also think the players do want to play for him. I just don't see how trying to go back to the start with a new manager with the current squad will change anything when we know the squad needs an overhaul and I think gio deserves to actually get some players that he actually wants.

Cammy is 100% bang on in regards the likes of Arfield having back the ball in fact it's the whole aspect of the dark arts, how many games do we watch opposition bend the ears of the referee continually but last night kent/Mackay there's a coming together but because hearts are attacking kent gets yellow carded but 2 mins later sibbick hauls back Tillman and nothing but yet Barisic bends thw referee's ear and is yellow carded .... Ps I am aware it was Beaton

Whilst you can’t ignore the injuries, I don’t think anyone has come to their opinion on Gio based on a few games this season. Let’s be honest, our domestic form last season wasn’t that different from this season. A humiliation against them at the piggery, points dropped to Aberdeen, Hearts, Motherwell and Ross County. I want Gio to succeed, but sadly nothing I have seen domestically in the past year has made me think he is capable of going on a concerted run of victories. Just as the criticism of Gio isn’t based on one or two bad results, confidence can’t be restored by one or two good results. I fear that whilst we probably win on Saturday, it’s only a matter of time until we get another Livingston or St Johnstone type performance, or worse, another gubbing from them, and we can’t keep going on like that.
