Due to FF memeber asking you about your Interactions with David Murray I'd suggested H&H and the " Murray and Me " content so thought I'd listen to it again ( great series ), so my question is are there lessons for the club and the fans in regards to our present circumstances as the board/investors are taking the tough measures required ( In their eyes ) as a club going forward , in the same way we wished Murray had acted differently in the early 2000s

How did Whyte avoid a criminal conviction? He was claiming to be putting his own money in when in fact he borrowed from Ticketus - surely that is fraud? Also, if a bank is receiving a huge sum to pay off a loan then there must be an obligation to pursue due diligence? A couple of questions, David, if I may. What was the trigger for Spiers to fall foul of Murray? Also, what was the first year that the club made a loss under Murray’s stewardship?

Thanks for that David very informative. I fully concur with the to earn respect you have to show some. I have negotiated EBA 's here in Australia with senior management and you can tell right away usually if they have any respect for you and that initial meeting will usually have a major bearing on how the negotiations will go.Also his refusal to accept he was never wrong in anything meaningful tells a lot about him. Look forward to the next part.

Fascinating listen. Murray said he had the opportunity to sell Rangers in 2007 but 'did not believe it was in the best interests of the club.' I think this is generally dismissed as bullshit although I'm pretty sure he repeated the claim in court at the Craig Whyte trial. Is it not possible Mike Ashley was sniffing around at that time just before buying Newcastle? It strikes me as a very Ashley thing to do - buy the club that had recently signed a deal with your biggest rival (JJB Sports).

I’ve been quite convinced that it was Ashley who was looking at the merchandising operation and seeing pound signs… no idea what Murray caught wind of that turned him off it but I reckon Ashley dug in to make it happen somehow.
