Are there any QPR players you would like to see join our squad ?

Bob MacCallum

Re Goldson, his lay-off and lack of match fitness shouldn't be a problem. Just look at Callum McGregor - off SAME length of time, box to box midfielder, returns v Dons and scores winner. Surely Goldson could cope on Tuesday and onwards?

Steven Harrigan

Yeah, I think it depends on the player, the injury etc, etc but the manager will have seen him at close quarters and base any judgment on that, while ours is observed from a distance.

Ryan Stewart

I agree with Alex. I think we will see a more Gerrard style, functioning midfield. Particularly with our issues at the back. I’d take a guess at McGregor Tavernier Goldson/Davies King Devine Lundstram Jack Kamara Kent Tillman Morelos

Ryan Stewart

Slight difference in that McGregor has been back training for almost a month whereas Goldson has probably had 4-5 sessions.

John Smith

The 2 that immediately spring to mind are Balogun and Dykes. But Willock I think is a really good player. Also Mick in the summer signed Jake Clarke-Salter who I think has loads of potential

Steven Harrigan

Personally, I don't think Dykes is anywhere near our level and Balogun was already proven to be well short of what we needed to go forward. Both huge no's from me.

John Smith

Just looking there at 2 other signings the gaffer made. Elijah Dixon-Bonner could be someone we bring in to improve that midfield area. And also for the Left back area, Kenneth Paal looks a quality player, plus he can also be used as a number 8

Angus Mackay

Thanks guys, always an interesting listen. The pertinent question regarding Tillman is not is he better than Aribo, it's does he have a higher potential ceiling than Aribo and I would say the answer is an unequivocal yes. As a developing selling club the measure of our progress is our ability to attract the likes of Tillman and Ridvan who both have vast potential but are very early in their development cycle. It's then down to the staff to make sure that there's enough experience around them to ensure that the team can still dig out wins when developing stars are having an off day. But the support also needs to understand that this has to be our reality for the foreseeable and that jumping on the heads of kids who are learning just isn't helpful. Whilst Rangers Dads might be the most vocal in the grounds, it's clear from on-line that they're not the only ones who still haven't wrapped their heads around that.
