93mins of awful turgid football then 4 minutes of absolute bedlam. Huge amount of work required but the feeling at full time is why we continue to put ourselves through the torture 😁 roll on Friday and a easy 2-0 win please Rangers

5/10 was being generous. Crazy and enjoyable as the last few minutes was, it doesn't gloss over a truly shocking performance, second half particularly.

Ahh David I remember sitting in music at Xmas at Marr College in Troon. As a reward for splendidly playing our recorders with the slevors dribbling out the end we were allowed to play our 7 inch 45rpm singles. I had Jonah Louis Stop the Cavalry and that intro brought those memories back.

The little General certainly had the Protestant work ethic.

The attitude went missing for an hour shortly after Saksla scored the opener. Only in the final minutes as Aberdeen dropped deeper and gave up possession did we achieve any forward momentum. An overall dreadful performance that again raises the concern that perhaps the players, and not Gio, was/are the problem. McGregor, Jack, Morelos, Sands, and to a lesser degree Tav, Kamara, Wright and Lundstrom were poor. We have played 4 halves of football of which only one was to an acceptable standard. We have got two results but it is not too difficult to believe that on another day both games could have gone the other way. I don't feel there is much "new manager" bounce to the way we are playing. Beale sure has his work cut out, these players will make him earn every penny of his salary.

I think attitude towards Sands is very unfair. A 20 year old playing out of position in a team that is struggling for confidence has been written off.

I don't think he's quite right in a back 4. He's not got the game intelligence for it. He makes too many rash tackles. I understand he's very young but I think he'd be better served in midfield. He's not worth the reported fee that New York City are asking for him though. That's the issue.

Ryan Stewart

I agree to an extent. The issue for me is that from what I’ve seen personally, I don’t think he’s good enough to play in midfield either, particularly in Beales’s setup where the more defensive CM is going to be a Davis type player. The other issue is that people see the fee that we are going to have to pay if we want him permanently. He’s not worth anywhere close to that to us imo. If he was a guy that we got for a low fee or came through the ranks I think people would be more forgiving.

My favourite Xmas song 🥳

Loanees ultimately should be good enough to start, and players who we have to pay fees of several millions for should be capable of walking into the team. That's just our financial reality. And Sands isn't worth the fee would need to pay, isn't good enough to play in his natural position for us and it's ultimately not worth our time to develop a loanee at the expense of our own young players. Other than Ryan Kent, these type of loan moves haven't worked for us. While Sands isn't a player from a Liverpool or Man United reserve team, it's a similar type of move. And it's a regression to go back to these deals after moving on from that model years ago.

We’ve had the HMHB one before and whilst I love the Tom Waits and Fall ones I doubt anyone else would 😀
