Steven Davis has suffered an ACL injury and will not play again this season. At 38, this may be the end of his career. A genuine Hall of Famer, this is not how he deserved to go out. All our love to a true Ranger, absolutely gutted at this news.

Get well soon Davo 💙 A legend of the club who I hope stays on as part of the coaching staff

stephen

I've just heard this, absolute sickener.

Charlie Nicolson

Very sad news indeed. I suspect that if we see him play again it will just be a wee cameo, or a legends game. As mentioned in the original post, a genuine hall-of-famer

David Clapperton

Horrible news. An absolute living legend and credit to our club. Are we fuckn cursed?

Gordon Millar

We were fortunate to have him play for our great club, at his peak held his own against the best of the EPL and had some of the top coaches recognising his quality when he got his caps record for Northern Ireland....but lastly he loved the Rangers and served us well in his 2 spells. The word legend is appropriate here, thank you for your service Steven Davis.💙

Andrew Hunter

Our luck this season has been as bad as I remember with injuries. Sad way to end his career.

JimM

Gutted for you Davo

Callum Dinnen

The Scottish Cup Final should have been the perfect send off for him. An absolute legend.

Luke

Definitely will need to add a midfield in January then

Stewart Robertson

Aww Man. No what we wanted to hear. The guy’s a legend.

chris smith

Sad end if that is to be it for him. Ledgend.

Craig

Proper gutter this one.

Ross Hauser

Terrible way to end his Rangers career, possibly full career. "You are my Davis"

George Cook

Deffo hall of fame One of our own One of the few ❤️⚽️💙

John leitch

Pity that he didn’t complete the season He has been a great servant for the club

Gregg

What a shame - hopefully he makes a full recovery

Steven

Terrible way to end his Rangers career but does this mean he gets to keep the "Steven Davis Man of the Match award" is his for life now?

David Innes

Absolutely gutted for him - a true modern legend

Tom Smith

Absolutely gutted for him. And as you say, not a way for him to go out.

michael Cochrane

I agree it’s not how he deserved to end his playing career at the club ! If it’s possible and he wants it i’d like to see him in a coaching role prob at the B team his experience and knowledge would be brilliant to pass on

Steven L

Unequivocally a rangers hall of Famer

Steve Clark

I am gutted at this news not only for the outstanding player and servant to the club, but the way he conducts himself on and off the park.he is everything you want from a proper ranger.

bluedan1873

Gutting news. One of the games genuine good guys.

Ryan Stewart

Gutted. Absolutely love Davis. I did wonder last night if something was up. Beale was very coy when asked about him after the game. Had me fearing the worst

James McConnachie

That’s a real pity. Safe in possession and probably our best classic midfielder. If McCann is not getting a chance perhaps Billy Gilmour should return?

Rose Mcloughlin

So sad we love him..a true Rangers Legend.

Graham Jones

I’m gutted for the man himself. We can always go and get someone in, but losing the rest of this season means he’s unlikely to play in the blue jersey again. It’s not how he would’ve wanted to end his career. Let’s hope the club see a place for a legend at the club. We used to try and find a role for them in the past, but less so these days. Davis will go down as one of the very best, and he’ll be incredibly difficult to replace, but we will have to try in January.

Doug Young

Such a blow for us but mostly for Davo. Hope he makes a full recovery as soon as possible.

Michael Gray

What a player. Could have performed in any Rangers team over the last 30 years. I wish Davo a speedy recovery, and if this is the end of time at the club, thank you for the memories and service for our great club

Lynsey Roddy

Gutted for him. Fabulous player.
