Happy New Year dudes

David Marshall

Well done 2020 me! Passed my degree and absolutely no consideration for my first child that was due in four months. My New Year's resolutions for 2023 is in the same vein, pass my post grad degree and do not have another child.

Apologies for coming across as a total wank here but relying on motivation on any long term and repeated task sets you up for failure. Being disciplined about doing something is far more likely to work (for me anyway). I get it in my head that it is a non negotiable. I can get to work own time, I can get to Ibrox well before kick off. Whatever you are wanting to do is well within your capabilities and is your choice. It was two books I read a couple of years ago that completely changed my outlook. Discipline equals freedom by Jocko Willink (and his other books, all best on audible) and Atomic Habits by James Clear. Apologies again for being a preachy wank.

Heart and Hand

Due to Covid season I was out a lot but it was fine because nobody else was. 2022 I was out all the bloody time due to European run so this year I’m going to work hard on my staying in.

Just turned 50. Maybe my resolution should be to take up bowls.
