3 points.great .but I am starting to think Rangers fans don't need to go to a gym as we sweat pounds off watching these matches..highlight was the glimmer of the old Morelas creeping back hope he continues down this road..Ally was getting harassed when we started doing the slow passing at 3.1 and though and behold he was right as we conceded the next goal and my heart was thumping at Laffertys try ..we were 1 second away from losing 2 points....but on we go forward.

At least the music made me smile 😂😂

Sky’s obsession with Alfie really pisses me off. Yet as soon as he’s on the receiving end they have no fkn interest. That runt Armstrong has an off the ball dig at Alfie’s ribs and it’s just completely ignored. Other way around and we’d be watching replay after replay from every camera angle in the stadium and halftime/full time analysis would be all about big bad Morelos. Good on him getting his brace and sickening every one of them.

Norm

Spot on review. Officials ignored off the ball nonsense by jobbers all night, Clancy ignores nothing from Morelos. On another point, we really need to stop coughing up possession in midfield, for all Kent good play he was culpable 3 times at least last night.

Gary Shaw

I’ve been Morelos’ biggest critic of late and I nearly went through the roof when he did the exact same lazy,no look pass again that he never seems to learn from but I agree with you 100%…..Even his yellow card was ludicrous and if it had been the other way around,we would never hear the end of it….it doesn’t help that every support absolutely hates him so anytime he goes near another player the crowd go nut which more often than not affects the refs decision

Andrew Orr

Not mentioned on the pod but the last 30 seconds of the match was a bombscare. Tav (I think) plays 94th min free-kick from right-back position across the pitch to a Kilmarnock player then soon after McLaughlin plays a short pass from his box straight to a Kilmarnock player. Luckily we got away with it. Nervy performance from the defence all night but 3 points and onto the next game!

George Harrison

In that first quarter of the game, when Alfie was up to his usual nonsense, when he again tried that cross field pass into no man’s land, when he couldn’t control the ball or find a man, I’d have hauled him off … that said, I agree he came on to have his best performance of the season (not that that would be hard though) ! A couple of cracking finishes, a la Colak, and bullying their defence. Keep it up Alfie, but I still wouldn’t be offering him a new deal on the money / length of contract he’d be after.

To shake off this lethargic start to games, why don't we just go long with a diagonal from kick off? We always start with some impotent passing along the back and we lapse into this negative and ponderous play, and the opposition smell blood. Why not make a statement right from kick off that says to our opponents - we're going to play this game in your half, and going to play forward at every opportunity. I'm not advocating we play long ball 1980's Wimbledon (copyright Hoggy) but just this opening moment to the match. We need to try something to get the players on the front foot - what's the worst that can happen, we lose the ball deep in the opponents half? No big deal. Good show by the way.

Gregg

Why don’t we just run back and boot the ball into our own goal. Get the inevitability over with then we’re on it for 89 mins.

Tamus

Sorry Andy, you're reminiscing - McGregor is done. He is not our best keeper he is utterly spent. Giving him a ridiculous 1 year deal has heaped huge and unnecessary pressure upon McLaughlin, and has stalled the advancement of McCrorie.

Doug

It's more of a mentality issue than a stylistic issue I think. The start of that game, Killie came out the traps with a fire in their belly, really getting into us and playing on the front foot. We were caught out and started slowly, which is often our problem. It takes then 15-20 mins or a goal in order to kick start the players mindset. They need to be getting into the right mindset from when the whistle blows.

Gary Shaw

Don’t agree with Hoggy that when you watch it back without the emotion, that we seen it out comfortably…..3-1 up against the team second bottom and we give a goal away,Lafferty has a shot,Tav passes the ball across the pitch and McGlaughlin tries a pass between 2 Killie players in the 93rd minute….I thought it was the exact opposite of seeing it out comfortably.

Martin Boyd

Christ Andy McGregor isn’t our best goalkeeper you mention McLaughlins distribution which is light years ahead of his he would have been stuck to his line at every corner and frankly it wouldn’t have surprised me if the Lafferty shot would have gone past him. He was a great goalkeeper but isn’t even an average one now Kilmarnock goalkeeper is better. Please Mr Rangers get a decent goalkeeper next summer , ta , ta McLaughlin and McGregor. Killie’s 2nd goal was on on Barasic sleeping as per.

Doug Young

I think I'm in the major minority but don't get the Kent love. He's so skilful, yet so utterly culpable for much of our poor ball retention. Even his goal last night was a lucky bobble into his path after he had arsed up a terrific breakaway attack. If there was a choice of new contracts between him and Alfie, I'd be going Morelos every time.

Scott Tolmie

Totally agree with this, McLaughlin under more pressure than he should have been because of McGregor

Gregg

Kent needs to score more goals - kent scores a goal - lucky bobble 🙃

Johnnie Mitchell

Totally agree. The whole goalkeeper situation has turned into a shit show and in turn leads to very nervy defenders imo

Andy McGowan

You play at Parkhead tomorrow - Who's your keeper? Anfield proved McGregor is still our best keeper. And I know Liverpool at home could be thrown back at me but point stands for me.

James McConnachie

Fully agree with Andy. You need a Goon (maybe even a couple) in Scotland. Snarl is definitely needed. The anti-Barisic. Every team in Scotland wants to put one on Rangers. That’s why we desperately require a testosterone-laden Scottish bastard who knows what it’s all about. Someone who opposition teams know in the tunnel will leave one on them. A dark arts mofo. PS I found Wimbledon entertaining.

Graeme Brown

I think the whole “we don’t have enough snarl in our team” argument is absolutely spot on. Sometimes having someone the other team is genuinely scared of is enough to put doubt in their minds and make them take a backward step before kick off. The flip side is; we are not allowed to have that type of player in our team by referees in Scotland. Last night Morelos was booked for landing near Danny Armstrong. I was shocked Clancy didn’t send him off too to even things up (to be fair, the only chance he might have had was for Alfredo “over-celebrating”. The perfect example is Ryan Jack. Hardly ever sent off for Aberdeen. Sent off four times (twice rescinded) in about 2 months for Rangers. We are simply not refereed to the same standard as other teams. We’re not allowed the same level of snarl. It’s highlighted by the press and players like Jack and Morelos - who can dish it out a bit - are hunted.

Martin Sutherland

I think we are scoring enough goals. Kent, Morelos, Tillman and Sakala have all stepped up. The defence needs to follow

Doug Young

Haha. Yes, I get the "more goals" and "lucky bobble" but my point was he should be tearing this league up if he's half the player folk say he is. And he's far from tearing anything up. 🙂

Laura McCrimmon

I agree with Andy, for me McGregor is the best that we have at the club the now and should play more than the other 2. Is he at his best no which is understandable I just think we need to stop comparing him to the old Alan McGregor, yes there is things he's done in the past he's not doing now but for me he's in before the other 2. I have more fear with McLaughlin in goal and the things he's meant to be in the team for he's failing at

Martin Davies

I agree Doug, we have a problem getting going in games and it's all in the players' heads. That's why I'd like to see a wee change like this, see if it gets us on the front foot.

Billy Forrester

Disagree mate, this season is a season too far for Mcgregor, he looks as slow as a week in Barlinnie and doesn’t look that confident. He doesn’t react quickly now and that’s due to age, great servant but should never have been given another year, sane as Davis, we are suckers for old favourites but doesn’t do us any favours.
