Terrific discussion. I would only keep Sakala; his weaknesses can be worked on and improved. The only problem may be getting a return for the other three. Have we maybe missed the big money we might have got at other times for Lundstram, Hagi and Barisic?

Rob Cunninghame

Need to look at the mob across the city and this is where they are miles ahead of us. And that’s been ruthless with players that do a turn then they move them on for big money. We need to start doing it ASAP

Charlie Nicolson

If Lundstram isn't sold this summer then those who want to keep him will be moaning that he is leaving for nothing. Definitely time to sell. I'm sure he can me replaced cheaper and for less salary

Craig

If Barisic really does fake injury to duck penalties, he must be really committed to the bit if he was wiling to miss the Scottish Cup final to keep the lie going.

Greg

He must have forgotten he was scared when he took three against Antwerp, never mentioned on here.

Craig

Keep Sakala unless there's a big bid for him Actively court interest in Lundstram and Barisic, they need to be moved on. Hagi we should probably move on if we think the interest is there. Not many others in the squad with much the potential to bring in a decent fee. I'm really not interested in keeping players around for dressing room continuity anymore. We've seen all the good it did us this season, and the other mob have shown us first hand you don't need it to succeed.

Ross Mcfarlane

Interesting conversation. If we are being ruthless Tav should be the first man out the door.

Spoon

Great discussion. My issue is that a lot of the guys we have seem to need a run in the team or to pave players from the start to get or hit form. Not sure it’s as easy as some think to drop into the team for the odd game and be at your best, as some podders rightly mentioned some times your form is as much to do with how the team is playing and if you have chemistry with those around you. Overall I would be looking for us to be less clingy with player and terrified we can’t get better. That’s a myth.

James McConnachie

Talking about moving on players who are/were on the turn. Tav. We sold the heir apparent and kept a guy who was always going to go on the gradual slide. It was a business no-brainer. We’d have gotten three or four years out of Patterson and then turned the wheel again. Instead, stagnation. Rangers have been guilty of this for a long time.

Gregg

Disagree with this James - personal view is someone was coming for Paterson either when they did or the summer. Giving him regular games may have bumped the price up but we weren’t keeping him for 3/4 years.

Scott Cameron

Brilliant discussion and the Hagi sale makes sense on so many levels

James McConnachie

Gregg, I don’t think you’ve agreed with me once so I’ll not take it to heart.😢 Celtic kept Tierney 3/4 years and sold him for £25 million. The model works. If you sell your next generation and keep your old stagers whenever the EPL flutters its eyelashes that’s not player trading. Anyway, if you were right we’d have maybe won some trophies.

Gregg

Sorry mate - it’s nothing personal just don’t think that’s how it would have played out.

1/ sell at the right price 2/ sell at any price 3/ sell, sell, sell to Galatasary4/ sell for any price

Christopher Gray

Great discussion lads 👏🏻 I agree in general across all the players mentioned. Would absolutely look to cash in on Hagi if it means we have any chance on Tillman on permanent deal. We are top heavy there when you consider Lawrence and Lowry in similar positions. Also when you consider Beale said he would prefer a squad with more striking options then something has to give elsewhere in my opinion. Would sell barasic and back Ridvan, we need to move on. Would consider selling Lundstrum if we can reinvest his wages elsewhere in midfield. Would listen to offers for Sakala but only if its decent money. His numbers suggest hes still valuable in a team that lacks numbers. Maybe he becomes a squad player in 12 months ideally if we improve first 11.

Ross

Great show guys. I would like to have a show on how we get around the club trained/homegrown rule (8?) on the assumption that Mcgregor, Arfield Jack will potentially leave and championship clubs apparently monitoring Scott Wright

Martin Boyd

Great discussion I would sell all of them with the exception of Sakala unless a large bid comes on. I have never been sentimental of players exception being Davie Cooper 😂use them and move them on.

Scott Tolmie

Cracking show and some interesting points.

Callum Dinnen

I'm not sure I agree with Martyn on Lundstram's contract. If we get £2m from a Championship club and get rid of his wage, that's £3m+ to go towards investment in a new player. That isn't to be sniffed at IMO.

Martin Davies

Good show gents I'm at a place where I wouldn't shed a tear for any of the 4. But actively look to move on Hagi and Barisic. Hagi because we have better available and I'm not convinced there's another level for him to get to. And Barisic because I have zero confidence in him innthe big pressure games. He's been a decent signing but I'm not sure I've ever seen a more one dimensional player.

Callum Gordon

The problem with Lundstram is if you look at his recent career he was great initially with Sheffield United when they got into the premier league then tailed off nearing the end of his contract ( making allowances for injury ) then he was great with us in the latter European games , this make me believe his mentality likes being the underdog and that’s no use to us . Totally agree with Martyn with regards to Hagi unless he the player himself can transition into a deeper lying midfielder but that would be a project ….

Ross M

You could do the kids next time? Lowry, King, maybe Devine? Blood then in or sell? Scott Wright, Jon McLaughlin? Would be interesting to hear about Tavernier and Goldson too - more so when to blood in younger players and eventually let them go. Great show💪🏼

Pedro

Martyn spot on about Hagi. Doubt we get our money back sadly
