Great listen. My old man told me a story about Hubbard (may be myth I suppose) playing at either Palmerston or Brockville. He played a 1-2 off the boundary wall to get past his full back and got away with it.

Wonderful

Heart and Hand

I hope it comes across that more than just great players, they were great men.

Great show lads. Legends both. Oh for a Billy Simpson in the summer transfer window. On a separate note but harking back to tradition, I was delighted to see Michael Beale reintroduce the wearing of suits and ties for the players. However, could some of you journo lads who have the managers ear (David?) take him aside and show him how to tie a proper Windsor knot in his tie? 🤨🙂. I also thought the David Moyes- Scott Simon comparison was very harsh on Mr Simon. 🤨

Grant Sneddon

Comparison was meant as an example of the difficulty in moving from the constant of a father figure to someone coming in and having fresh ideas and different player preferences. Hope it's came across like that David rather than a comparison of trophies etc

David Baillie

Totally understand Grant. It wasn’t a criticism as such. I was just thinking that Davie Moyes albeit a very decent manager had a very unproductive time at Old Trafford. He couldn’t ( and this applied to many after him) throw off the spectre of Fergie. Not only did Mr Simon move out of Mr Struth’s shadow he went on to build arguably the greatest Rangers team of all time. In my opinion he was treated very badly by the club and has never really received proper recognition for his efforts. Any man who could take East Fife to national cup victories has to be a very special manager. I wonder if Bob Paisley might have been a more appropriate comparison. Keep up the good work. 👍

Grant Sneddon

Interesting comparison with Bob Paisley David. Would agree to a degree with Scott Symon and its something that's worth delving into a bit more. Thanks for the comments as well, always appreciated
