Jock Wallace was the manager who took the team up and down the Gullane Sands.

Alistair Simpson

Sir Walter grew up in Carmyle. Sir Alex grew up in Govan 👍

Hoggy

Good listen this. Enjoyable. Hamper will be up on Sunday. Cheers boys!

Fergie was born in Govan Rd, across from Fairfields shipyard, a few hundred yards along from me, 10 years before me. Meikle is the Scots word for big.

What made Wilton's death even more tragic was that he was on a friend's yacht MOORED at Gourock, not out at sea, when a storm blew up. Everyone else made it ashore but him.

Jerry Dawson, Gers' keeper of the same era, was also known as The Prince of Goalkeepers. He was in our top 5 keepers list in my opinion.

Ronnie Simpson played for THEM from 64-70. He joined them the year BEFORE Jock Stein. Ironically, Hibs sold him to Celtic when Stein was the HIBS' manager. Apart from that Lisbon trophy, he won 4 league titles, 1 Scottish Cup and 3 League Cups. Won The Treble in 67 obvs. Also played in Scotland's famous 3-2 Wembley win in 67. PS he'd even won the F.A.Cup twice with Newcastle in the 50s. He was 36 when he played in Lisbon.

Great show guys. I was wondering if Alfie Conn Snr and (somewhat controversially) Jnr would be in the father/son Hall of Fame club?

Hoggy

No no no no. Junior should be nowhere near!! Argh…..

David Baillie

I agree Hoggy but I thought he was already inducted as one of the Barca Bears.

David Baillie

Totally agree Trevor and I would put James Wilson, Davie Kinnear and George Souttar in that category as well. I’m sure there are many more unsung stalwarts who have served our club with distinction and never got proper recognition for their services.

Re Greyhounds there were 2 tracks next to Ibrox, The Albion & White City.
