Grant is joined by Ross and Andy B as the boys examine the careers of Eric Caldow and Harold Davis . Both legends of the 1960s side have extraordinary stories to tell and arguably should have a greater standing in the clubs history books.

For greater edification, Gairloch, associated with Harold Davis is a different place to Gareloch associated with the Gallant Pioneers

You don't want to set the sat nav wrong with those two

Alan Patullo's Scotsman article on Harold is a fantastic read - it is gogglable. Dave Smiths son worked with the Big Man & penned Harry's life story Tougher than Bulletts - it's a wonderful memoir. Harold Davis along with my own dad will always be my biggest hero and inspiration. Harry won the Sunday Mails Scottish hero of the Year a few years before he died for his fundraising work for the Erskine Veterans, It was my great honour to be asked to write and read a Eulogy to Harold at his memorial service in Glasgow just after his passing. Thank you Grant, Ross and Andy for this fine tribute.

Davis is not as little celebrated as you think. See book " Tougher than Bullets". A fascinating read. I saw Harry in the 60s. Fearless competitor, as you'd expect. In a European Cup game at Ibrox v Anderlecht, having kept his temper for as long as he could, after a Belgian named Jurion committed yet another dastardly foul, Harry lost it and chased the offender up the park. The Belgian player, rightly terrified, ran for his life for about 30 yards before Harry pulled up and burst out laughing. What a guy! What a legend!

Great pod guys. Hopefully Mr Davis' story gets the recognition it deserves in the eagerly awaited museum. An absolute legend of a man.
