Many Rangers fans would say that the strike partnership of McCoist and Hateley is the greatest in the clubs' history (and they would be right). However, does the partnership of Ralph Brand and Jimmy Millar deserve to be amongst that discussion?

On our latest episode of Journey to Fame, Grant is joined by Andy McGowan and Andy Barnett as the lads look at the stats and stories behind the Brand and Millar partnership and discuss the merits of including it for discussion to be the greatest strike partnership in club history.

Re big man, wee man partnerships, the best I've ever seen was Rush / Dalglish, followed by Toshak / Keegan. For Gers the not-so-big Millar / Brand was superior to Hateley / McCoist in my opinion having seen all those partnerships. In my time (1960 - now) I'd say the best partnership that never could be would have been McCoist / Derek Johnstone.

That 1st leg defeat in 1961 v Fiorentina is STILL one of my greatest Gers' disappointments. Your point about missing strikers in Euro finals or v Marseille is so true - and frustrating. Millar / Brand my top partnership....but I suffer from anciency bias!

McCoist & DJ the could have been but wasn’t , would have been the best in my lifetime (70 onwards). As for miller and brand , before my team but revered especially jimmy miller. I think I read he was Walter smiths hero growing up, not a bad judge .
