I know any result after the title has been settled has to be put in context.Even so, I remember the exactly same scenario at the end of O’Neill’s 1st season when they dunted us 3-0. Had we lost again today the fear that beating them is beyond us would grow. Of the current staff we have 3 groups of players - the definite leavers (Kent, Morelos, McGregor, Kamara), the definite remainers (Goldson, Tavernier, Raskin, Cantwell), and those who are in a grey area in between. Good to see some promise from some of the players in that group. If Souttar, Yilmaz and Matondo can establish themselves in the team then last summer’s transfer window in retrospect won’t seem as horrendous.

Still red flags at the back for me and I don’t know if there’s going to be much change in that area of the team….Celtic for all they weren’t up to much were still getting in behind too easy for my liking and Ridvan looks to have the Borna syndrome of rolling around too easily after a tackle…thought Cantwell was a positive and will be just fine with better players around him…also pleased with the GKs decision making and reading of situations….Sakala ,Matondo,Hagi,etc can’t be part of us moving forward either

Yes they made a few changes, but all I’ve heard all season is how good their depth is and it doesn’t matter who’s playing they’re all like for like etc. Finally we punished them for their slack passing in these games 👏🏻

Tactics spot on today, using the pace to allow midfield to sit a bit deeper but for me the big difference was appetite and good decisions and execution on the break. You can have all the pace in the world, as Sakala often shows, but if you don’t use it clinically it’s worthless. Lots of positives and thought Matondo made a real contribution which was good for the boy as he is unfairly slated based on very little. Winning doesn’t change things as you said but losing would have so fair play to them, it must be a baseline to go forward though as they cannot drop below that standard next season.

Credit where it’s due, some good performances and tactics spot on, resilient but carrying a proper threat with Cantwell the icing on the cake. My biggest plus point, bar Kamara which I will forgive, was not playing those who we all know aren’t interested or good enough which he must have considered. I can forgive mistakes when there’s a hunger and willingness to try things to find a better performance. Pleased for guys like Jack, Souttar and Matondo who I thought did some great work. Positive signs but as you say it doesn’t give any reprieves or pardons👍🏻

Yes! This is what I was coming on to comment.all we have heard all season is how great their full squad is, how strong their bench is blah blah, so surely if they fielded a "B Team" it shouldn't make any difference, they should still be walking all over us because it has been that good all season? But they didn't? That's because we cut out the mistakes and brought our shooting boots and punished them the way they normally punish others.

Cantwell immense. Correct decision to play McCrorie. This provides Beale with some much earned breathing space and hopefully kick on next season with his own players. It proves that ‘that mob’ are not as good as they think they are. If we don’t gift them goals, they’re a little better than ordinary. Hopefully more days like this to come 🇬🇧
