Cheers for that Alan. Great show again my friend 👏👏

Great show, 22nd May 2005, the day we won our 51st title would have been my Dad's 51st Birthday, he had passed away the previous February, the night before his funeral was that crazy night at Tynecastle with the Ricksen penalty at the death too that later prived a crucial result as the season panned out, was in the upper tier at Easter Road, my brother in law used the ticket we got through my dad's season ticket, it was written in the stars that day.

Pedro

Paul Rogers had a spell touring with Brian May and Roger Taylor. Was exact opposite of Mercury so in a way it worked really well with him not trying to be the late front man. Good to remember Helicopter Sunday. Headed through without a ticket and got handed one en route thanks to the Arthur Numan bus!

Alan Bradley

Jammy so and so with that ticket. Yeah saw Rodgers in SECC with May and Taylor, good gig.

Alan Bradley

Didn’t play the full 8 minutes of your song, only long prog tracks allowed. 😂

Pedro

I got the DVD of the one in Sheffield and ripped the audio in to mp3 format. Superb live album for the car and phone!

Angus Mackay

Great show again Alan , thanks , may 22 2005 was a day I’ll never forget 🤣

David Baillie

Great show Alan. Didn’t make it to Barcelona. Went in the following night to see the team parade the cup around Ibrox in a tipper truck. There was an absolute deluge. We were so wet we had to nip into the Alpen Lodge in Hope St to get dried out 🤷‍♂️🤨before catching the last train back to Wishaw.

Craig Scott

I was there at Easter road that day absolutely amazing day

Alan Bradley

Ha Union flag on the front of a coal lorry , what an excuse, wet on the outside & on the inside after the Alpen Lodge. 😀

John Walker

Good stuff Alan. First memory of the gers is being at Ibrox when they paraded the cup winners cup. Helicopter sunday i also couldn't get a ticket so watched in the cock tavern in London. Great music what a solo from john squires on resurrection. Don't want to hog the requests but will be seeing the damned in the next couple of weeks so why not play new Rose the first ever punk single .The day music began 😉

Enjoying the podcast loads Alan. Goosebumps with the Helicopter Sunday commentary. Your Dads comments on music made me laugh. My dad’s favourite band The Stones and his claim to fame watching Pink Floyd in Arran with Syd Barrett fronting. Matt Monroe’s ‘Born Free’ should heal any ptsd resulting from Mars Volta songs. Thanks for this podcast.

Alan Bradley

You’re welcome pal, glad you enjoyed it, Matt Monroe now there was a singer my Dad did like. 😂

Johnnie Mitchell

Another great listen Brads. Hope to see you on Friday night pal. Cheers

Stuart Borland

Nice one Alan really enjoyed listening to that . Hope you've a corner reserved at NEH tonight to discuss prog and why rush is the best band ever 😉

Allan Waltham
