And still Alfie is the show, barely a mention of Kent, we got our monies worth and more out of Alfredo, Kent? Not for me, hes just not the one people want to talk about.

Gregg

He was instrumental in 55 and us getting to a Europa league final - which earned us bundles of cash. He has dropped off massively

Gregg

Interesting comment from Davy - you can’t argue with the stats (re Tav). But yet people do. In 20 years the young team will be asking about our prolific right back - and we’ll be telling them about ffs tav 😂😂😂

Heart and Hand

Like I said, Alfie is a personality. For better or worse, he commands attention. Some players have that indefinable quality. Todd C looks to be the same.

Ian Milne

Cantwell is already getting the Morelos treatment from the media. Don’t hear them going on about it when Kyogo or Hatate go down easy. I guess with the Sky Sports broadcast is that they have to come up with something to talk about at HT.

JM

The club social media should be using mockery to answer back to these pundits claiming Cantwell wasn’t fouled - tag in the pundits /channels with the footage and a witty comment - yes it’s encouraging pile ons - but will be a good laugh and a good warning.

Charlie Nicolson

Morelos and Kent leaving on freedom of contract demonstrate why players who are out of contract next summer ought to be sold this summer. Lundstram and Barišić being foremost among them

David Innes

I’d prefer to keep hold of Hagi but think we’ll sell if a decent offer comes in

Graham Jones

There is a growing narrative around Cantwell in the media, and it’s been gaining momentum because our media department have been lame since David Graham left, because he had the Scottish media by the balls during his tenure. We need better leadership in that area, and quickly. What Morelos went through with the media was dog whistling racism at times. Look, some people will never tackle to a player, and they don’t need to stand and applaud, but in general it’ll look bad if we make this an issue. I get it, bd memories of this season are fresh in the minds, but we need to remember the goals people scored on those great European nights. I am a bit surprised that some want rid of Arfield so quickly. He’s an important squad member and has actually contributed this season, albeit from the bench mostly. As for Davis, I understand how people feel about him, but he has not offered us anything this season. It’s obvious he wants to keep playing, but it won’t be at Rangers. Giving him another year or six months would be charity, and the club needs to utilise every penny. It’s about making reasoned decisions with every player.

Jamie

Cammy’s comment regarding Morelos hunger or loss of hunger and relating it to his upbringing are bang on the money. I’ve been saying similar for weeks. Sad to see and I will remember his time at us fondly.

Gordon McCool

They could easily have focussed on the goal or the fact that it was in the same end and same corner of the goal that his first goal was 400 games ago. That doesn’t fit their narrative of pandering to those mental bastards from the east end.

I think there's probably a grain of truth in Alfie falling out of love with football recently. Whether that's to do with his upbringing or because he's a millionaire with other matters on his mind now, it's impossible to tell really. He was the breadwinner of his family since he was a teenager, he moved to Finland because he wanted to launch his career in Europe and continue to look after his family. Maybe there's an element of falling out of love with the trappings of being a footballer. It is a job at the end of the day. Or maybe, I think it's more likely he's fallen out of love with Scottish football more specifically. He's under a microscope in Glasgow that he simply wouldn't be under anywhere else, he's been vilified by the press on a scale we've not seen since Gazza or maybe Duncan Ferguson. He's scrutinised on the pitch in a way that I don't think I've ever seen a foreign player being scrutinised. He's had to alter his style of play so much in Scottish football, that all the best bits of his play are now nullified. I'm not really that shocked if he has fallen out of love with being a Rangers player tbh. The press did a number on him up here and he's not been able to play his game domestically for quite some time, that doesn't excuse him of all of his flaws, but you see him getting visibly raging when he's on the pitch in domestic games. In Europe he's fired up but he's not constantly blown up for every minor infraction. It's a shame it's ending in acrimony from some quarters. Beale was spot on though, in time he'll be remembered fondly. I'll always love the mad wee bastard! Moving forward though, the club needs to nip this Cantwell shite in the bud early doors. Learn from the Morelos incidents over the years, the scumbags in the media in this country will ratchet up the pressure on him over time. The club cant be caught dozing on it again. They left it too late in the case of Morelos, but we know the script now.

Great pod... Referencing the Todd Cantwell point, for some time now I have been of the opinion that the horrendous injury problem at the club, is in part due to some oposition players being aware that certain referees, of increasing number, will tend to judge rule breaking challanges on a Rangers player differently from other clubs.

Gordon Masterton

The Kent and Morelos goodbye chat reminds me of Laudrups last season. Now he's a legend no-one disputes it but I remember the vast majority of the Copland front being happy to see the back of him at the time! Tbf that was the 10 in a row season and it was similar to this season a season too far for many players. I can't make the game on Wednesday but I'll be thankful for both Alfie and Kents contributions just wish they could have gone out with a trophy or 2 more.

Spoon

Great pod gents. Tav has been a phenomenal servant and a machine in terms of output. Puts the situation with guys like Kent and Morelos in sharp focus, doing it every so often or for a season over 4 or 5 for me just doesn’t merit the plaudits people give those two. For far too long we have been happy to have show ponies up front who don’t have the output, Kent being the most stark example. Kent hasn’t got the medals or stats for me that will mellow people to him in the future, Alfie will have the euro record for a while you would assume though so he will always be spoken about. One guy who doesn’t deserve any great send off is Helander, bang average, overhyped and never available. He would probably pull out a lap of honour due to injury if he was meant to do one….

Spoon

Also shows up the poor decision making around not selling two yellow ticket players when they actually had value, transfer business needs to be cold and brutal moving forward.

Nikky Cairney

Think a lot of fans are missing the point regards Hagi. He was shocking before the injury and he was shocking on Sunday despite a good finish. Think when a player is out injured you remember the good moments but he wasn’t good enough then and he isn’t now. He will go in the summer.

Stephen Rankine

My top 3 Alfie memories; 3.booting Scott Brown in the haw maws Dec 2018 Ryan Jack game. 2.The Red Star defender bouncing off him March 22 at home. 1.Those 2 headers away to Feyenoord Nov 19

Craig

I really think the red cards he got two games in a row against Motherwell and Celtic in 2019 were the breaking point for Morelos. Four yellow cards that no other player in Scotland would have been given, and he went from the best form of his career into freefall.
