Just reading news about a lot of kids being let go from the academy. None good enough. Per KT, if you're not pushing for a place by 20 it's more than likely not going to happen. Have the club ever shared what their goal is for the academy or how they measure success? One first XI starter per 2-3 seasons, breaking even on investment (hard to measure), something else? By far our biggest success came from bringing in under valued talent from elsewhere (Bassey) and becoming a finishing school. From the outside we appear to have an inability to convert the majority of raw talent in kids into players good enough where it matters. King arguably the next likely to breakthrough but the overwhelming majority you'd say are even good enough for low Cinch sides by the time they hit their early 20s. Do the club think they know what the problem has been and do they have a plan to address it? Not everyone can make it of course but we're pumping money in. Would love an interview with the head. Is it Zeb Jacobs? I can't recall the name.

Currently recruiting process for a new head and I absolutely agree with you, THOSE are metrics that matter. Not Lowland League places.

It'll no doubt take a couple of years for the stink of Ross Wilson to wash out. Let's hope we get the right individual in. Sadly for academies it will take years before you can reliably measure the success of changes that you make.

Great to hear some Dinosaur Jr. on the update!

David is there a grading list/tierlist at the club for journos and their reliability and weight of word? I've seen it down south where Ornstein would be Grade 1 for instance and Romano would be 3 or 4. Would be helpful.

How much of Kamara's regression can be attributed to the sale of his great pals Aribo and Bassey?

Combat stress is a great charity , we did work for holybush house before it’s closure and have regularly donated money from our Facebook group to them .🦡 🇬🇧 💙 👏🏻

Spot on about the academy, we need to be producing so much better. Even when you think of guys over the years like Maurice Ross, Bob Malcolm, Chris Burke, Charlie Adam. Not exactly world beaters but all played parts in achieving success for the club.

Kamara is being tested by Beale. He will either rise to that or he will decide it’s time to go. It’s up to him now. we need to remind ourselves how marginal it the norm is for getting players through to the first team. I agree the Academy has not been god enough. We are miles off what it could be, but the average from the very top academies is one player breaking through every year, and we’ve been hitting that. Ajax releases dozens of players every season from all age groups, so we aren’t alone. It was always odds on that Beale was going to want a new approach in the Academy, so I’m not surprised. We are getting those players through who do a job, because King and Devine broke through, but we don’t yet know if they will develop further. That makes this a big season for those two, where it’s up to them to work on what the coaches tell them to.

A goalkeeper is the most essential signing we can make in the off season
