Rangers league form continued to be perfect, with Martyn Waghorn in particular running riot. But after a chastening defeat by St Johnstone in the League Cup brought us down to earth after the giddy start to the season, there was just a slight sense that teams were beginning to make it more of a grind for us.

The two Davids are here this week to continue their look at Mark Warburton's time at Ibrox.

The wee yin is the most regular contributor to the pod at this minute 🤣

I thought we did have a sell on fee with the Waghorn deal? Pretty sure I recall talk about it around his move to Derby

Dale McLatchie

I completely forgot about this strip!

Peter Houston, one of the biggest pricks in the history of Scottish football. Was it this game or the Billy King game later in the season when the wee Falkirk TV VL was having a meltdown? "Rangers timewasting at Ibrox!"

Bob MacCallum

Throughout the lower division years, to my anger, I never ever thought we were fitter than our opponents, even part-time teams.

David Kiltie

I remember the website you hosted a few years ago, Bob. Fitness was a common gripe! I think this changed for the better under Warburton.

Bob MacCallum

Well remembered, David. I know I'm an old curmudgeon, but I STILL don't think our players are as fit ( or quick) as they should be. Fans keep saying that we should be blowing opponents away in the first half hour. I agree BUT superior fitness should mean we should score a couple in the final 15 minutes as well. Fitness plus the correct mentality needed for that.

for about 6 months after the St johnstone defeat i swore blind " score aside " that was a very good Rangers performance and i may be wrong but didnt Saints only have 3 possibly 4 shots on target but yip they got their tactics spot on

Mate- Help me with the name of the song for this episode? Drawing a blank and it’s a tune!
