I didn't have a question (at least, the ones I had, others asked already along the same lines). Should have asked when the next Futurama and Simpsons pods will be... ?

Everything does feel fresh on and off the park, I'm buzzing for the football to return.

Forgive my uncharacteristic subdued approach. I’ve still got Matondo whiplash from the grovelling u-turns I had to make. Perhaps going on about a treble season last year was a tad too optimistic!

On the GK comments, we seen the difference in that Hearts game when we took McCrorie out. A long throw and the defence was all over the shop, this wasn’t something we seen in McCrorie’s brief run.

Great pod gents. I am pretty happy with the profile of player so far, there’s logic in every signing in terms of value, potential and ability but I hate to hear the oft repeated ‘he will do it here as its easier and he’s played in better leagues’ mantra as if the body of evidence we have shows us anything its that this is a strange league where stars have come in the past and struggled. I am more than happy to give all the guys so far the benefit of the doubt and some look very good but the idea they will automatically adapt to the Scottish game isn’t backed up by anything bar blind faith, which if thats your thing fine. On the point of goals, I have banged the not enough goals drum for the last few seasons but this season I am willing to wait and see. I think the issue in the last 2-3 years has been we knew the players weren’t able to give enough goals, the system the natural game of most of our players and the mentality all contributed to a lack of goals. The new players and hopefully a new approach to the tactics will unlock more goals and I am happy to wait and see. What I would say is that some of the comments around people who look at the stats are a bit lazy from certain quarters, football is literally a stats based game and while the eye test is always useful over the short term in the long term stats tell you how good a team or player are wether its trophies, win / loss, goals or expected goals. There is a bit of a narrative from some that stats dont matter or that pointing to them is almost a foul in terms of analysing a player but how else other than blind faith again do you rate someone. The business has been positive, I hope the start to the season is also positive in terms of tactics but I agree with David, some of what we have done will work, some wont despite best efforts but it’s definitely a better outlook than recent seasons with at least some significant change in personnel. Enjoyed the discussion.

Great pod gents. Excited by the signings and looking like we are not done yet. Suitably easing back in! Cheers.
