McCrorrie is ready to be a number 1 and he should be ours imo. Butland has done nothing for years, who knows if he is going to be up to the job. I hope we don't live to regret this one.

Tamus

I said last season that the McGregor one year deal would heap pressure on McLaughlin and hamper the progress of McCrorie. Stupid decision making from Rangers - we owed a faltering McGregor absolutely the same loyalty he showed us ten years ago - none

Stephen

Problem is if McCrorie has a couple of bad games at the start of the season we would all be saying the opposite and wondering why we didn’t sign an experienced goalkeeper. I think he needs to do what his brother has done and move on for his own good.

Graham McCallum

Not so great news about McCrorie but glad to hear the history boys is returning. Any chance you could do a show about the cult of 70s terrorism. When we had all those Marxist terror groups roaming Europe making a bloody nuisance of themselves 😊

Samuel Campbell

As someone who watched Lafferty at Linfield I can tell you that he has absolutely nothing to offer at a higher level of football. But it's hard to dislike the big idiot so hopefully he can have some form of success at his new club

QB_72

Feel a bit gutted for Robbie but I don't think he was gonna be our No1 even before Butland coming in although I'm kinda surprised at the same time as being the No2 keeper was always gonna be where he was at for now. Wish him all the best as he is one of our own and could have had more of a shout than maybe he realised ( cup games, midweek against the less favoured clubs in our league). Sad news and I have a feeling he won't be the last of our younger talent to move on soon. 😔. Johnstone Borough!!!! No a bad wee team but jeezo big fella, I'll see him play the scheme goblin clubs at St James's playing fields now fs.If ma Da was still a Ref down there he'd have booked him for being aff his nut 😂.

Gregg

100% - sadly he’s been around for a while and none of the managers have deemed him the no1. Best he moves on - think he’s 25.

Graham Jones

McCrorie is good enough to be our number one, but the manager wants someone experienced in that position. It’s unfortunate, but had he believed in McCrorie then he’d have played him most of last season, instead of relying on McGregor who should’ve retired after the Scottish Cup Final. He’s been on a similar pathway to McGregor but when it came to the first team he never got that break he needed. He’ll be an absolute steal for someone, and we need to ensure that money comes back our way no matter what. We’ve developed him for years, and he needs to play.

QB_72

55 should have been his swansong, club dithered splashing the cash now they can't spend it quick enough. Let's hope that this new team win everything domestically as it's certainly being built that way.

With David being an American Political history aficionado. On one of the non-football shows. Any chance of discussing RFK jnr and his bid for the 2024 presidency and the Kennedy family political institution as a whole. Would love to hear you thoughts on another Kennedy running for pres. especially polling so well. 👌🏻

Heart and Hand

I like to wait about 20 years before getting into elections 😀 It’ll be interesting to see because, well, that name. It still has magic, even after half a century. Someone once said it’s the American version of royalty and it could be a prince returning to grab a throne. A long-shot but if the momentum builds it could be interesting.

David Clapperton

I get both sides of the argument on re-signing big Leon but the one thing I would say about the notion that we should be going into the “frees” market and signing a younger player is that Leon King will be back and the club clearly have very high hopes for him….. signing Balogun on a years contract with very low wages does not block his path when he recovers, whereas if we did sign a younger alternative they’d be looking for 3/4 years contract and that most definitely would, at least potentially, block him when he gets back to full fitness. Balogun is a gap filler in the meantime nothing more.

Martin Boyd

Yay History boys! Russia coup d’état, huge country run by nutters who get overthrown by other nutters over and over again , job done😂

Ryan Stewart

Probably in the minority but other than it being another homegrown headache I’m not that fussed if McCrorie leaves. He done well for the most part when he has played but I don’t think he done anything outstanding. Think people are building him up more in their minds because we’ve spent the last 2 seasons watching the ghost of Allan McGregor in net. Don’t buy this idea that he deserves to be No1. Based on a handful of games over a 2 year period, the majority of which were meaningless. Not for me. He deserves an opportunity to compete for it but if he wants to go out and be guaranteed No1 somewhere else then good luck to the lad!

Jordan McKay

I expected Lafferty to flop at the Blues and he somehow surpassed my expectations. I’ve been going for 17 years and he’s probably the worst signing I can remember in that time.

Derek Hamilton

He was injured when beale came in so had to wait for him to regain fitness before he could play

Mark

Disappointing that McCrorie leaving but probably the best for him. The Scotland no.1 position is up for grabs and if he can get himself established somewhere else he could be right in with a shout.

Derek Johnston

I’m involved at Ashfield these days, coming up against Dozza and Laff wasn’t something I was expecting this season TBF! Be a good laugh for me and wee Ajax seeing Cammy pop up at our grounds 🤣

Calum Morrison

Gutted about McCrorie leaving. He looked solid and although had a couple of dodgy moments for cross balls in the last couple games he looked incredibly promising and should of been our number one last season. Butland speaks very well and seems like a leader but there is no guarantee he is going to offer us a better service than McCrorie would of and will be on a hell of a lot more money than Robbie. Butland hasn’t really been a number one for a good couple of years and has also had injury problems.

Samuel Campbell

I've been going nearly 40 years and can't remember much worse either especially given how much we were reportedly paying him. Healy has had a pretty poor record with strikers he has brought in with only really Lavery being an unqualified success although McKee and Devine have had good moments

Alex Hood

Gutted McRorie is off. Wish him all the best.

Alan Shaw

Not heard the word "shanner" in years. Good to keep it alive
