After their first leg draw, Servette travelled to Belgium to take on Genk in the second leg of their qualifying tie, with the winner setting up a tie against Rangers in the third round. A game that would go all the way to penalties, it would be the Swiss who would triumph despite many in game set backs. James welcomes Zander to look back on the game, as well as discuss what we have learned about Servette from these two games.

Servette seemed experts in the dark arts of football, overtly aggressive and devious with the ref. I would assume we have the quality to hurt them, if the laws of the game are defended by the officials.

Servette have a Japanese right back they signed this season. Keigo Tsunemoto is a player who I rate really highly. Interesting to see if he plays against us and a player i’d like to see us take a look at should he continue to develop the way he is

Genk would have been a very difficult opponent for us so early in the season so I’m happy it’s Servette which I think is a much more winnable tie.

Servette’s second goal was THAT SAME goal we lose every other week …. just sayin’ ….

I was wondering if teams still send a “spy” to watch opponents and compile a report? If so who would do that for us?

Do you guys know when we have to name the squad for these early rounds?

Any team that can play 115 minutes away in Belgium with 10 men and get a result are a challenge. They’re tough, cynical and resilient. We’ll need to be on it.

Watched the game, to be honest neither team were up to much and it was a bit of a smash and grab from Servette. They'll rotate and rest their XI no doubt before they come to Ibrox so I'm not sure how beneficial them playing a match with 10 men will be.

Our record against Swiss sides has always been pretty poor, but hopefully we can beat these. Their stadiums weird, right near border patrol
