Yes the performance could’ve been better but the heart and determination we showed tonight to get the job done was fantastic. If Jack Butland was being overlooked before, he certainly won’t be after tonight. He put in a performance tonight that Greegsy and even The Goalie himself would’ve been proud of

Grant Hoskin

Is it me or is the audio a bit weird? Sounds like Colin’s out of sync with the others

Comment spot on gents, it’s not dog meat but it’s not slick or inspiring stuff we are delivering. Beale seems to have a real issue consistently getting his ideas into action, he needs to look at why over a number of years he has consistently struggled to ….. get consistency from this team and go have hugs swings between the sublime and ridiculous. We were promised free flowing attacking football, we don’t seem to be getting there anywhere quick enough, especially given our unforgiving league. No panic required but worrying signs and our euro adventures are now looking like an anomaly more than a foundation we can build on. Lammers link up was the best of the second half changes for me, he’s a quality player.

I'll be delighted to be proved wrong, but i think PSV will tear us a new one over the 2 legs, Thursday night football was always better anyway lol

Paul

Excellent analysis boys. Just a quick point: it's 5 million euros, not pounds. That works out to about £4.2 million. We won't be seeing it anyway after we beat PSV....

Doug

Despite a poor performance Tavernier once again comes up with the moment that matters. That’s now 19 European goals for Rangers, only two behind McCoist. Based on the average number of European games we play per season, plus his current European goal scoring frequency, he’s actually on track to potentially out do Morelos’ European record before his contract ends. Absolutely mad.

Angus Mackay

Really good pod, guys, with lots of excellent points. Martyn's point about crossing was very interesting - people moaned endlessly last season and the one before about the horseshoe and everything going wide; the manager clearly recognised that and has bought players to put a much greater emphasis on playing through the middle. So we have not only completely changed our forward line but also the way we approach the game. That being the case, and also given that we're rehabilitating to various degrees guys that were only featuring sporadically with their previous clubs, it's inevitable that it's going to take a bit longer to click. I think there are more signs with each game that it's coming. If we're patient we'll be well rewarded. Adam's point about Colak and Dessers was interessting, The one point I would make about that is that although Colak was a strapping lad he wasn't much given to using his strength to bully defenders; I think dessers has a lot more of that about him. Thanks again,, guys, great pod.

Stace1ofthePeople

Did we really need to get rid of colak? We keep saying we are crying out for a 20+ goal player. That was colak. I hope we don't regret getting rid of him. I know perhaps his "all round game" wasn't good enough for some of our support but goals win games. And that is what he gave us. Hoping Danilo and desers start burying their chances

Mark

Played 3 in Eindhoven won 3. But yes we looked ropey at times tonight. Will need to bring a better game to the tie

Gregg

Interested chat on the fullbacks and potentially sterling/ ridvan playing more inside. Given how narrow we are further forward - where would the width come from?

Alexander Laird

Dear God.Would not want to be next to any of you guys in the trenches.

Started brightly. Errors creep in. Mistakes made for a goal. Panic for a while. Need reset at HT. Thats us. Its what we seem to do over and over and its worrying moving forward. PSV using fast technical wingers will have a field day if we play this narrow midfield against them. Things will improve for sure but im worried that these PSV games before the OF are too soon and we find ourselves on the end of a drubbing in Europe and further behind in the Lge. Prove me wrong Mr Beale. Please!

Doug Young

Squeaky bum time. It's true, we do look like a side looking for identity. I would have like to have seen Hagi on last night. We desperately needed someone to put the foot on the ball. Raskin was superb second half, Cantwell is great but I do wish he would just stop trying to do everything at 200mph. And yes, I appreciate Tav is ageing, but he was bloody awful. In the ten minutes before the goal, he gave the ball away three times in very simple direct situations. He is such a weak link, it's unreal. Anyway, I think PSV will be licking their lips, let's just hope we show some backbone.

Keiren hastie

As a defence you’ve got to assume souttar doesn’t win the header and cover round and not ball watch, it’s school boy stuff

Miguel Sanchez

In the discussion around Dessers even when fit being a Colak-like player so why did we chase Colak and replace him with a €5M replacement?

Bob MacCallum

Martin worried about our defence? Er...this season, Souttar and Borna have been playing well with Goldson just back after months out but looking ok. The real culprit is Tav yet most of the podders still reluctant to call him out or just offering excuses for poor displays every game. Last night at one point we cleverly passed our way out of trouble on our left with various players making quick great passes and moves to move the ball forward. Everyone cheering. Then final pass is sent across the park to Tav on the right touchline, unmarked, who miscontrols it and gives away a shy in our half. I, and everyone around me in the Sandy Jardine, are fed up with guys quoting his stats. I might start recording his stats for all the pathetic stuff he does in every game. Time to give Sterling a chance, starting on Saturday.

Richie

Everyone seems to be so so negative, being a Rangers Da I’ve see some really bad Rangers away performances, this wasn’t one. We all need a reality check this is a ‘new’ team (all be it with some old faces) at the start of the season. Just support the Team it’s amazing what positivity from the stands can do, just look at the Europa Final run don’t remember many empty seats at time up. Rangers Da rant over

Russ

Got to remember that the bulk of our experience in Europe pretty much comes from Tav, Goldson, Borna and Jack. Half the team have little to no European experience, says a lot that Dessers is one of the senior players in that respect and has just over 20 apps. Let them get the game time and be patient, unless we're getting mugged by Killie then it's open season to be fair. Always enjoy the post match lads, good work.

Gregg

Haha aye John - whits he like eh with all his goals. It’ll never catch on. Ps we love him up in the Club Deck

Connelli

You would think we got scudded and knocked out by the negativity on this pod. Decent result to get us through was all that mattered here.

Allan Osborne

Apparently he didn't fit the manager's style. Says more about the manager in that case that he was happy to let go someone who scored for fun before his injury and never got a real chance when he came back. I too hope we don't live to regret letting him go.

Stace1ofthePeople

I've been saying it for weeks now that I would have kept him. Madness to let someone go who is so clinical in the box. I really don't understand it. He was tried and tested and already here, settled, loved being here etc. Kyogo doesn't have all round game he scores a barrel load in the box and will do it again this season. Just watch 😅

Allan Osborne

Yep. Kilmarnock was the sort of game you'd have bet money on him getting us out of jail. Mental.

Richie

Yeah that helps, watched your post-match video about how knackered you were, just watching, because of the heat. Just think we need to give the players a bit of slack, must admit was super impressed with Raskin's fitness in those conditions, boy will go far.
