Which bright spark was it who had the idea to stick Hagi - who only had a cameo appearance - onto the post match media scrum at the weekend? Was it intended to put himself in the shop window? Did nobody stop the kid from having a moan? If so, I'd argue that would be an idiotic PR decision as we've now alerted any suitors to the fact he's *publicly* unhappy and frozen out. Personally I can't believe that there isn't a place for him in our squad. He's flawed but he would suit games where we don't need pace (i.e. the low block we'll face in the league more often than not). The kid grafts too. Beale is making his own noose.

looking forward to the CL fixture,after the stumbling in the cactus & brambles game at the w/end,even though they have spent millions. A noisy fidgety game & trust we can lift our football to this level. I love Hagi but I think it's telling that he either hasn't started, or has only started one game against Celtic in his Rangers career. Even at his peak in the 55 season Gerrard didn't seem to trust him in the biggest games.

23 goal contributions from midfield during 55 (only 2/3s of a seasons minutes across all comps too). That's the only season where he has played regularly. Came in and we hit Covid. Played for 55 season. Started the last season under Gerrard then didn't get player often by GVB. Got injured for 18mths and is just back. Last few years he's scored some big goals too - 1-0 at Easter Rd at Xmas and then the Copenhagen away game 1-1. The kids a saleable asset and that's the only reason you'd get rid but even then I'd say that was a weak justification.

Just the net ~£20m difference in their takings and ours if we drop down (they get +5-10m more from the TV rights & we lose £10-12m guaranteed).

I think we need to stop over playing the low block this isn’t unique for us and it’s become almost as wearing as the mental block with plastic pitches. Just go out with the better players, impose yourself and win the game. We talk about being the best team in Scotland but then trot out a load of excuses that would make the tartan army blush.

We need to cash in on Havi now or lose him for a pittance as he runs his deal down. No harm to the boy who I like but he’s another who isn’t contributing nearly enough consistently enough. It’s not personal but he’s not a good fit, of course the team could have been built around a guy like him but given the injury and uncertainty about his recovery it’s probably best he just goes.

I like the boy and if we had gone a different route we could have put people around him and got a blend that worked but given the universal call for pace, intensity and energy he’s a round peg for a square hole. Big season for Lowry, not been as impressed with him than others(undoubted talent but has he got the right attitude?) but this might be the making of him, fingers crossed.

Good discussion around Hagi. I think many value his mindset (he says everything you want a Rangers player to say) and he understands the demands of the club but he just hasn't improved beyond the same player we signed in 2019 imo. His injury has not helped but I still don't see how he fits in. He's a moment's player and we are unable (still) to carry a luxury player based on what I'm watching.
