"Rangers aren't approaching other managers as Michael Beale is still in a job." I get the point, but they blatantly lined Beale up before sacking Gio and brought him up for the Aberdeen game to get the fans talking about him. Don't believe the Potter thing, but Beale of all people should know the board are probably looking at other managers right now. (Incidentally, clubs always should always have a contingency plan - they just shouldn't bring a new manager up for a game and a pre-match pint at the Louden before binning the incumbent manager.)

Graeme McLeod

Does a pint & pie at the Louden and sitting in the directors box count as unofficial though? 🤔 Tbf, I'm probably giving the board too much credit here and they actually don't have anyone lined up. They have to though, right? Surely, yeah? .......

Celtic have a manager who could probably be described as ‘EPL level’. So it’s hopefully not completely unattainable or we’re stuck hoping for a miracle (again)

Heart and Hand

Celtic pay more than we do and twice got him when he needed to rebuild after bad endings. I think there’s a gap between what we can get and what supporters think we can get. Hope I’m wrong but I’ve had people mention EPL managers to me and if that’s their expectation, they’re unlikely to have them realised.

Stephen

A couple of more losses and Eddie Howe might be looking to rebuild. ;)

Graham Roy

Rest in peace Iain. His Georgia tweets will live long in the memory!

Jeez-o I don't even know who I'd want. I loved watching Wilders Sheff Utd in the prem and he has a good CV in England but I think our fans will point out his failures since which is fair enough. I won't even pretend to have seen his teams play but on the face of it Crespo has had success as a manager, just a rogue shout like haha.

Gregg McKee

We obviously can’t take an EPL manager direct but there’s got to be someone out there looking to possibly rebuild and enticed by the challenge here. Otherwise we’re either looking for inexperience which isn’t serving us well at all. We struck gold with Gerrard, that’s pretty clear now.

Heart and Hand

Sure there will be, lots of managers. Club will be inundated with interest. It just won’t be from the type of candidates some seem to expect. Rangers market is either coaches on way up or way down. Maybe they’ll surprise me - hope so!

Graeme McLeod

For us to get someone with EPL experience - over and above losing relegation battles - it'd need to be someone who is looking to rebuild, and probably has a soft spot for the club. Can't see anyone who fits that other than Lampard, and he'd be a disastrous appointment. Can't say there's any obvious candidate that I can see. Nobody in Scotland capable of stepping up, and any foreign appointment would be a risky one as top names won't be interested. It's partly why I expect the board to wait until after Christmas, name an interim manager and hope he does well enough to become the permanent gaffer (or at least buy them enough time to find one).

Fraser Martin

Please God, Alan Harris isn't on the FAB.

Colin Wieland

Would we really want Potter anyway? Went from a small club with no great expectations and ok did well. Moved to a much bigger club and totally out of his depth from day 1.

Gregg

With hindsight he made an error and joined an absolute basket case of a club. He done well at three clubs before that so he gets a pass for the last one for me.

Gregg

What about Neil Warnock - he loves the gers and I believe he has a house in…………… na fuck 😂😂

Fair play for owning up to the Patterson mistake, no mention of the fact that you said the game was at Wembley in the same breath Davie 🤣 keep up the good work!

UEFA wont change until they are challenged by a higher platform, and that would be politicians. Good luck trying to get them in involved in such a venture though. Another t avenue would be legal, but again, try finding someone willing to risk a fight with UEFA in a European Court, where they tend to get their way. It’s amazing what the contents of a brown paper bag can do to a European Judge. As for Potter, I’m not sure he’s who we’d want anyway. Couldn’t handle it at Chelsea, so why they hell would he be any better here? But you’re right, we couldn’t afford him. The thought might be hoe Rodgers used management up here to rebuild his reputation, but I don’t see Potter being the answer. We need to stick with Beale until Christmas at least, and let him work with the squad. I don’t think he got the budget he was after in the summer. There was nothing left for the defence. When you look at it, they pretty much broke even with money in and out. There was no big investment, just a trading cycle. I guess that’s where the board want us to be right now. I still think they’ll announce a stand expansion over the next twelve months. I don’t know why I say that, but I just have a feeling they see a need to explore every avenue that will quickly raise more annual revenue.

That daily tale was pretty good!! 👏🏼👏🏼
