I’ll start, the offside decision is another shocker, if that was up the other end sky would have replayed it 7-8 times

james whyte

Not great. Not awful. Not much learned. Still miles off what we need to be seeing. Big run of home games coming up where pressure will be on for better performances and nothing short of wins will do. Onto Thu!

Andrew

Devestated for Danilo. Waited so long for him to start now this. Brutal for the lad

Ryan Stewart

Fair assessment lads. Thought we were fine. Nothing to really make me believe there is a massive turnaround coming, but at least we won. Still want to see a lot more going forward. Defensively we were untroubled, with that being said St Johnstone are dreadful. 18 league games unbeaten when Davies and Goldson have started together which I find a pretty mental stat when you consider how Davies in particular is viewed among the support.

Iain Graham

Fair assessment. Aside from the injury, not much to be unhappy about.

scott burnett

Agree overall, good win and not particularly troubled. Thought the connections in the final third were a bit more visible, could do with doing it all at a bit of a quicker pace. Thursday night could go either way, but after that 6 wins from 6 should be expected.

Craig Ferguson

Lammers useless again. A forward player who’s scored 3 goals in 2 years. The problem with Kent was he didn’t score enough goals then we go and buy someone who’s record is 10 times worse, don’t understand it.

John Smith

What are the chances of Souttar getting to play his natural position

Andrew Whiteside

The game needs to look at head clashes. If that was Rugby the St Johnston boy would have been sent off. He was never making that challenge and through being wreck less seriously injures Danilo. I don’t for a minute think it was intentional but surely if you go for it and miss you should have consequences. Good result under enormous pressure by the bears today. Thursday will tell us where we are.

Norm

Yip, there's a difference between a clash of heads and a challenge like that.

Martin Boyd

Lammers put the ball on a plate for Tav to cross for first goal, he was also standing in the open when Sima should have squared just after the goal. He will contribute over the season and isn't as bad as some make him out. Nothing unexpected today , nervous defence , close offside call not going our way and not creating enough real chances.

John Smith

I totally agree Andrew. I’ve noticed a lot more recently. The one that springs to mind is when that Saudi goalie clattered his defender and the ref let Argentina continue their attack. I do t care if the ball is an inch from the line that whistle should go immediately. Something has to be done about it quickly. Only a matter of time I fear before someone ends up unconscious or worse

Jock Paterson

Only one team tried to play football, I don’t know what more we could expect from the match.

aldo adens

Win was a must but today just papers over the cracks for me with the man who is our manager. For as long as i can remember after every game its always coulda , shoulda, would ah speaking about how we have played or result.

Revan1872

We never really looked like losing but we were pretty dreadful overall. It mostly looked like more of the same rather than any signs of improvement. Raskin was probably man of the match but there wasn't really any stand out performances

Mark

This is about as standard an SPL win as you'll get for us. Nothing Beale or the team done today would have been enough. If we won 5-0 it would have been because St Johnstone were shite and they'd still be whinging.

Spoon

All a bit Meh…he can’t do anything but keep winning but it’s still not good to watch or inspiring stuff. Hard to judge when up against a team who are struggling themselves for goals or confidence.

Graham Miller

OMG David you’re so negative! Wasn’t great but look at the team. Obviously keeping a few back for Thursday. Perth finished Gio so happy with victory. Still need to be more clinical. Are we any closer to knowing our best team? No. 3 pts move on

Gavin Thornton

Good to see Roofe Matondo and Lawrence all contributing. How we could have done with them this time last season 😩

Heart and Hand

No, we didn’t get here in a game and it’ll take more than one to get out of it. All we could do was start, and we at least did. Onwards.

Gregg McKee

Lammers looks the worst out of the new signings for me. The main reason is he looks like he’s completely disinterested, sulking even.

Heart and Hand

Haha genuinely I thought I was! I can’t pretend it was a wonderful performance but I’m sitting here quite happy.

Billy Forrester

Happy with the 3 points but we would send a glass eye to sleep. This team is slow and predictable, Beale is on borrowed time and won’t be here past Xmas. He looks terrified in the dugout. No width until Matondo comes on. A half decent team would punish us. What a mess we are in 🤦‍♂️

Berra

Do we think beale bringing sima on instead of dessers was to appease the fans after the outcry of the of game, or has he maybe realised the guy doesn't have it?

Heart and Hand

He hasn’t been playing well so fair enough to go with someone else. But we just paid 4m for him so Beale better get something out of him.

Berra

With Danilo looking sidelined for a while he absolutely needs to get a tune out of Dessers now. Personally I don't think dessers will be money well spent but I would love to be proven wrong. Time will tell. Cheers David 👍

Andrew Hillis

Three points is all that matters for Beale and us at this stage! However couldn’t agree more with thoughts from Club @ 22 post match! ‘Clumsy, sloppy and pedestrian tempo at best. The football is horrific to watch. Answers on a postcard as to what the formation and tactics are.’🤬🤬🤬. These things aren’t difficult to rectify - Beale needs to be reminded every presser and post match please!

Tommy

Get big Alex back 😁 great for hitting records on comments + got me listening to car pods again

Pedro

Kane should have been booked for diving and therefore off for the foul he did get booked for. Also robbed for Roofes goal. Standard of officiating in Scotland is embarrassing

Pedro

Would keep Matondo as a sub for reasons indicated, fantastic option to either kill off teams or add much needed goals on the counter. Brilliant option to have and gives as a very good threat option during games

Sgems90

Had a little chuckle at the ‘Staff treatment’ comment 😂. Rangers are a strange team at the moment we score two really good team goals but then outside of the goals the performance was really turgid. If it ever does click we might actually turn into a good football team 🙃. Its going to take a huge turn up in overall performance for us to win the league. Thought there was glimpses of good individual performances but not enough.

Doug Young

It was good to see at least a little bit of invention; when Lawrence was in his more comfortable position in the middle, he started pulling strings. We haven't seen that for a while. Pretty pedestrian, yes. Lammers looks technically proficient but a bit languid for the SPL. Didn't think Davies put a foot wrong, which was good to see. Also interesting on a couple of occasions when Raskin was visibly frustrated at Goldson just dawdling along on the ball and not showing any urgency. Maybe we do have some players who have a bit more oomph but the old guard are sticking to the meh? Decent shift from Lundstram too. Nothing spectacular, but a stolid performance from generally stolid players.

Nikky Cairney

Same old same old. Understand the narrative it’s about getting the 3 points and to a degree it is. But it’s not enough for Beale anymore. Performances are needed as performances like that lead to dropped points in games to come it’s as simple as that. Find myself bored watching us play. Slow tempo and slow passing leads to turgid football to watch. We just aren’t good to watch. Also another new formation today 4-2-3-1. These players weren’t signed to play that system which just shows he’s guessing game to game. The Kemar Roofe overhyping continues also. Offered nothing today and if Dessers put in that performance then he’d be getting dogs abuse as usual. Relying on Roofe leads to disappointment, will be injured within weeks and we will be back to square one. Why sign 3 strikers and then start an injury prone striker when they don’t hit the ground running. Stick by your signings and the tactics you bought them to play. It’s changing every game and will do again on Thursday. Whole thing is just waiting to come to an end.

Douglas Wright

Great show guys... strangely my biggest bug bear is can we please pronounce Danilos name correctly and stop adding in extra letters.

Doug

He's another who has suffered from high profile mistakes. I think large swathes of support did the same with Sakala and totally disregarded what was an excellent output of Goal Contributions, all down two his two key misses vs Celtic. That's the nature of the beast though. People are so desperate to win they are looking for messiahs, so any player who shows the potential but then too quickly shows flaws, are discarded as just another disappointment. What we really need is a whole team who can push forward together, who can all contribute, so we're not left putting all the pressure on one or two.

Doug

I think a number of these signings are players who were identified while Beale was here with Gerrard at a time they were told we couldn't afford them. Beale has come back with the same blue print and gone from there. If you look at it from that POV I think it makes more sense as Lammers numbers were much better in the years prior to 20/21 than prior to 22/23. From 20/21 he played in Serie A, whereas before he was in the Eredivisie and Jupiler League. I don't think it's an unfair assumption that they looked at it and thought he just wasn't good enough for Serie A but would be good enough at our level, when you looked at his other stats. He is showing signs, he set up Tav for the cross which made the goal and there was a few times he was in good positions in/around the box but didn't get the pass. There's still potential there if he can just get a little luck and maybe a goal to boost his confidence.

Robbie McCarroll

Why didn’t anyone want to pass to Yilmaz he was in lots of space. He clearly isn’t as good a crosser as Barasic but play on the ground through him instead of always lumping it in from the right every play.

John Palmer

1 nil win would've still sparked resounding Boo's from our travelling fans, the fact we won 2 nil, only put them on hold for the next 20 plus attempts on goal with very little hitting the target. We know and Beale knows that he's only 1 more defeat away from getting canned. I fear Betis could be the one as it's another Big Game that he needs a Big result in. It's all well and good beating the Wee Teams, it's defeating the Big Boys is what Fans want to see.
