First of a few shows looking at the rumoured runners and riders in the yearly Rangers manager hunt.

To get the lowdown on Kevin Muscat, Adam is joined by Sacha Pisani who is currently employed by the A-League and formerly worked for Statsperform.

We chat about Muscat's personality and leadership style and focus in on the scale of change he's had to overcome to make his time as coach of Yokohoma F Marinos a success.

Sacha also gives his thoughts on Muscat's attacking philosophy as a coach and what we could expect in terms of a tactical setup should he become the Rangers manager.

John Smith

Sacha’s brilliant 👍

AC_55

Muscat is the one I really want. Would go as far as saying he is the perfect appointment for this squad.

Andrew Whiteside

Won titles in two different countries. It’s between Him and Clement. But I think it should be Muscat as he has rebuilt in both clubs and has vast coaching experience behind him.

Mark Boden

No brainer for me. Muscat should get the job. Ticks all the boxes for me

Mark Boden

Yeah just makes sense mate. Lampard is a big no no. And clement just reeks of another paul le guen/ Pedro type of appointment. Muscat brings a clear identity to his teams that can be seen by the fans and players alike just what we need. And it's not just because ange at celtic it's on his own merits as a manager

Kieran McI

Brilliant insight into Muscat. So much positive from this chat. Was already sold on Muscat, this just cements it for me. Great work

Ross McKay

Sold on Muscat getting the job after listening to that.

John Smith

The second he does that first interview on RTV Mark, I think people will really understand what I’ve been talking about

Mark Boden

You that confident in this board making the appointment? Just got a bad feeling that there after lampard

Craig

Great pod. This is why fans are leaving MSM behind. Sensible questions about football played. Media would just want to talk about him being a nutter. I would be happy with him as our next manager.

jamey Carruthers

Great stuff and confirms everything I’ve read about him. He has to be the man.

Stephen

He sounds impressive but I think he will have to bring in a lot of new players to fit his system. Can’t see where the money is coming from to re- invent this squad again

Ian Cartledge

Not for me afraid…..would rather we go for Clement or Glasner. Sick of the fascination for ex players or people with a Rangers connection

ivor swan

Much better option than lampard anyway

Chris

Sounds ideal, but my problem is, we simply don't have the players to fit the system he would want to play. And I doubt we have the finance to sort out the cluster fuck Beale has left.

Craig Mcwhinnie

I was set against muscat till I heard this interview now I’m for him getting the job

Neil Johnston

Currently in a place of despair I'm all aboard the Musky Express.

Allan

Less apprehensive now if he's appointed.

Phil Morrison

After listening to this Muscat would seem to be the man to pick. He has got to be better than Lampard

Iain watson

So if muscat loses a game and goes 7 points behind in Japan he will get the sack right? That's how these things work,is it not? Looking at a guy who is looking no better than beale-shambles

CJT

Need to look past the following that lot nonsense and the experience we had with him as a player. Do that and he ticks a lot of boxes. Wouldn't be disappointed with his appointment to be honest. Hoping for an inspirational one but guvem that's unlikely he could do the job I think.

Spoon

Excellent pod. Questions asked spot on and the co-host did a great job of outlining the positive’s, the question remains can it translate to this club, league and squad. Can see why he would be considered, looking forward to hearing the other pods to get the same feel for the rest of the short list. Top stuff Adam.

Gregg

Still seems a risk given the quality of the leagues he’s managed in - really good interview though the guy seemed a bit of a cheer leader for him.

Craig Brown

I wasn’t keen on Muscat but after listening to that I have definitely softened in that respect. Infact I would actually be quite happy for him to get the job depending on how it goes with some of the other targets that have been spoken about

John Smith

I don’t feel confident in the board whatsoever. I can only hope and pray that my heart won’t be broken here

John Davidson

I wanted him purely because I want the satisfaction of a psychopath kicking the shit out of the charlatans who are disgracing our once proud club. Sad to hear that he's not like that now.

Ewan White

All aboard the Muscat express!

maccalsa

What's this rebuilding myth? He inherited good sides. I'm happy to give him a go if that's who we get, but there are facts, and then there's alternative facts

maccalsa

Can't quite understand the Muscatmania on here, but each to their own.

Ronnie Brown

I have been swayed by propaganda and I'm now all-in for Muscat. Until the next pod, focusing on Clement, after which I will be all-in for him.

stefan strzelecki

Great listen. Got to say , I think muscat is the best target I have heard to date. A natural winner, dynamic football, with a track record in delivering shiny ornaments .

Chris Fairfull

Glad I listened to this 👏🏻👏🏻

Callum Dinnen

Muscat's Rangers connection is entirely incidental. It's entirely irrelevant as to why I'm on board with appointing him; I couldn't stand him when he was at Rangers.

John Smith

Ah but that’s the beauty of MuscatMania Ronnie, once you’re in, you’ll never want to go back

John Smith

And thus, it shall be done William. MuscatMania is real and it’s very exciting

John Smith

That’s probably true Stephen. I would hope the board have given him assurances and have a proper footballing structure in place

John Smith

The fact he’s this close Chris I would hope the club have given him promises in writing that there will be a structure in place

Callum Dinnen

I don't think we know that definitively yet. I haven't been massively impressed by any of the new outfield signings so far but they've all had to try and play in Beale's shambles of a system.

Alan Ferguson

Good listen Adam! I’ve been leaning to Muscat and hearing this makes my mind up for sure, fingers crossed he gets it

Billy Forrester

We listened to others like this telling us all about Lammers and Dessers qualities, that turned out really well didn’t it. Just cause some guy comes on waxing lyrical means absolute zero as has been proven when hearing all the rave reviews about our summer signings

Graeme Duncan

Cheers Adam that was a very interesting listen and makes me think more favourably towards KM.

Heart and Hand

It’s just someone’s opinion, from someone who knows more about him than most of us. Until we can get an accurate fortune teller, nobody can predict the future. But equally people might prefer to know a little about someone’s background.

stephen

I'm not against Muscat but I think the toughest job he would have is initially trying to get a tune out of what he has. Don't get me wrong that would test Pep. I think this is what most fans are afraid of. It's tough to see what any manager can do with the toolkit he will initially be handed.

Billy Forrester

Fair enough, I’m just scunnered beyond belief at moment with the whole team and feel any manager will struggle coming to take over this lot until he can implement his own ideas and get some of the considerable dross moved on and bring in his own guys, that won’t be done in one transfer window so looks like a whole season now of this

Martin Boyd

It sounds like he can rebuild squads with little money and plays attractive football both very important at this point in our history. I wouldn’t be miffed if he was appointed .

maccalsa

This is true, but it's sadly being dominated by one team at the moment that have more funds than anyone else, so it has its own hurdles

Gregg

Correct but guess we are comparing to candidates who have done better in better leagues. Just hope we make a good choice - I don’t know who that is 😂
