Have loved this series and hope the two of you have plans for another regular show together. Great to here a discussion about the draft system. I'm a fan of this and would even love to see it implemented in Scotland but Andy M males some good points about the practicalities.

Draft system is best kept in the USA, Canada and Australia.

Favourite Albertz goal is the free kick in the Bo Andersen game, sat Main Stand at the edge of the box Broomloan end near where he struck it what a strike. For me though his best goal was the SC semi final mazy run against them. For a big fella he had a fair turn of pace at that goal

Another interesting show. I don't see how the draft system works unless it is controlled by the respective confederation and a totally separate youth system like the American college system. Something that has proven very interesting in this series is despite our spending of millions on players for each position, some of our top 5 sales are still in the 6 figures. This goes to show how poor we have been in this aspect and will become clearer in the striker episode with our biggest sale being a 50% loss. A profit 11 would be interesting The hybrid player muddies the top 5, depending on the source material one could argue that 2 number 11's Josh Windass and Charlie Adam, who played a good deal of their time on the left, would both make the top 5. Especially with the additional money from the sell on fee for Adam albeit neither would make for good discussion points for a pod, so we'll stick with this top 5.

Great show again, super discussion and opinions. Thanks Andy & Andy. Simply impossible to introduce a draft system into football as we know it. There is no organised pool of players to draft from. US sport has been strictly planned since inception of the organisations and most importantly these totally control the sport and franchise teams notibly in merchandise & broadcast rights and 'partner' deals such as kit worn. It is a closed shop, strictly controlled. Once drafted players are exactly like any footballer under Bosman rules. The only thing I can see for current world football to have similar is a new Euro / Global franchise league like the Indian Premier League or Big Bash League in cricket, where team budgets, transfer auctions, etc and all strictly controlled by the organisation. Even then it only really accommodates established players not upcoming talent. As of now, sadly, Rangers would never be invited to a football set up like that, probably the division 2 or maybe div 3 version. Anyway! Great show as usual, great series, thanks again lads.
