Was Clement the manager of Brugge when they almost got him instead of us. If the manager wants Kent he has my backing

Simon H&H

Likely any business would be loans that’s fair to say? If there’s any cash whatsoever, then use that toward bringing Shankland in.

Miguel Sanchez

In recent years a lot of rangers and Celtic fans are becoming two cheeks of the same arse in terms of "there's a conspiracy, they're against us etc etc" it is becoming totally exhausting when I just want to go to the games and watch the football and see what Clement is building but the narrative is constantly about who favours who and which teams suffers the most and who is the most delusional. I don't mind banter maybe a bit of taking the Mickey but some behaviour is totally unhinged.

Craig

Clement does (so far anyway) seem like the sort of coach that Kent would work best under, someone who gives him clear instructions on what he does and doesn't expect him to do. But on the other hand, I really can't be bothered anymore with players that are highly dependent on coaches to bring out the best in themselves. Say we bring Kent back for 4 years and the manager leaves after 18 months. Potentially back to him drifting undirected if he doesn't take to the replacement.

Billy McCormack

Please Rangers don't bring Kent back, the guy thought he was Billy big boots the way he left he thought he was bigger than the club, and he phoned it in after 55.

Russ

Bit of an indictment of where the club is at present if Ryan Kent is brought back - don't get me wrong that Dortmund away performance is one of the best I've seen from a Rangers player (I'm in my mid 20's, forgive me) but he still lost and choked when it mattered more than he showed up. This one can get in the fucking bin sorry.

Doug Young

Please no to Kent again. He was a headless chicken for 80% of his time with us. Useless

Russ

How much would it cost? 500k+ for a 5 month spell if he's on 30k a week? Maybe I'm howling but I'd rather stick a bid of that much in for Connor Barron in January - if Aberdeen say no we'll pay half that in the summer for a development fee no sweat. Different positions of course but at least it's smart business from the club - I won't hold my breath though.

Jamie Gourlay

Ryan Kent's motivation for us had dwindled by the time he left. He was fed up playing the same teams and having 2 or 3 men on him packed behind the ball. That's why he did well in Europe. If we brought him back then he may start off good but i think playing against st mirren/hibs/sheep will end up reminding him of what happened previously. He chose to leave.

Spoon

He might well have wanted him when we got him but given what he did when he actually arrived or when he looks at what he delivered it’s a leap to think he automatically wants him now. I couldn’t agree more with all of David’s comment on Kent on the pod. I’m not a fan and it comes from being incredibly keen on him when we got him and it turning to utter disappointment in how he didn’t take his chance and kick on. We thought we were signing a major young talent, he never kicked on and didn’t deliver close to his promise often enough over his time. A tanner baw player for me and if we accommodate him at the expense of a slot a young guy could potentially get a chance at I would see that as a poor choice.

Spoon

I hope we take the brave decision to back our youth and solve the right wing problem with mcausland, this is a great chance to move from talking about youth development to actually backing our academy. The boy has talent and needs games, let’s give him the season in there and stop pretending 20 is a baby.

Simon

No chance I’d take Kent back. Said it a hundred times before. Him, Morelos and Aribo never scored the amount of goals needed to win leagues. Thanks for some great memories Ryan but no.

Colin

Could you post details of times for next Friday night

adam houston

A think he will sign he's one of us watp

Andy sawers

Haven't had a proper right winger since Daniel Candiass. Its been all make shift players in that position.

Gordon

No to Kent - let’s not continually revisit history

Gary Brown

Thanks for the update David Kent. If he's on offer and the manager wants him that's good enough for me. He wasnt the only one coasting the past season or so. Morelos (frankly a disgrace!), Goldson, Lundstrum, even Tav early this season. All ticking boxes content their names were on the Starting XI no matter what. With the realistic threat of a Clement sized boot kicking their arses out the door it's a different story now. Kent is a great team worker, never hides, constantly 2 or 3 on him in SPFL. The manager will like his attitude, work rate and team ethic. Perhaps our new style of play, higher tempo, moving defences quicker, Kent could find more space / freedom like in Euro games and give better output again. A loan deal only (until proven again) but even that depends on the wage involved. Put your trust in the manager's decisions, he's clearly not gonna take any shit off anyone.

Gary Brown

Spot on! These days far too many of our lot act exactly the same as their mhob. Not The Rangers Way!

Heart and Hand

I don’t see that because Clement wanted to sign him four and a half years ago for a different side in a different league that it automatically means he wants him now.

Spoon

One of the many reasons I wouldn’t touch Kent with a barge pole, reducing opportunities for youngsters to pad squad out with over priced under performers who seem ‘safe’ signings isn’t progressive. A really chance to reduce the age and battle weariness of the team if we take it with younger guys like Lovelace or Mcausland getting real game time to see if they can cut it. These boys need matches under their belt at their age not bit parts.

Alan Baxter

I think Sima could play on the right this season, with Matondo on the left if he is now fit.

Ryan Stewart

The McCausland situation is interesting. We are saying he should stay here and he has a better path to first team football. Then with the next sentence we are saying we need to sign a RW in January. I’ve got to be honest, if I was McCausland, taking emotion out it, I’d be off abroad somewhere. There are legitimate questions around our pathway for academy players. We’ve heard all sorts from various people over the years about the academy. Mulholland, Wilson, Jacobs, various managers and board members and so far it’s been lip service with very little evidence to back up all the claims.

Graham Jones

Kent would be just putting someone in the path of McCausland deciding to stay, so the first thing to do would be conclude a deal, one way or another with him before entertaining the idea of Kent returning, which I’m not sure is the right move for us. It would be a loan, but we do know that Clement likes the player. I think Kent needs to go somewhere else and stick it out where he’ll get played every week, but that isn’t Ibrox in my view. Our biggest problem is that McCausland will be shown big cheques with high end six digits written on it. We can’t begin to offer him that, and it’s a lot of money for the kid and his family. I hope he stays, obviously, but we need an answer from him before the January window, so we either have him or we do business involving him come that time.

Callum Dinnen

I'd have loved to see Tillman at us under Clement. Boggles my mind how many of our fans don't rate him.

Steven Harvey

An absolute spot on take on their mental fans by David at the end. Why are they like that? Bonkers 😂🤪

Russ

Fully agree mate. There's 0 previous for us producing first teamers over the last 5 years and there is recent and current proof of young Scottish based players getting game time and flourishing in Italy. Wouldn't begrudge the boy in the slightest.

8luenose1872

Totally agree, the only reason I think he will want him is if its the only option the board give him to strengthen and I'm sure that's not the case, well I bloody hope not anyway!!!

Brian Rae

Kent downed tools last season and since the 55 season, his goal contribution stats were abysmal. Like it or not, they have wingers who get double figures in both goals and assists and we must have likewise to have a hope of winning the league. Kent is incapable of this. Its time to let Matondo stake his claim for that left hand side as player trading is our future. Kent would be the only one to benefit from a loan to us and its a big no, from me.

Billy Forrester

A huge NO to Kent return, why do we continually go back to old players, his numbers and general contribution are no way good enough and we are moving in a different direction now under new manager. Kent is now seeing that the grass isn’t greener, he chose the move and the money, hope he enjoys it

Ryan Stewart

You even look at the lad Johnston from Motherwell who’s went away to Austria. Andy Irving from Hearts went over to Germany then Austria and now he’s been signed by West Ham. As you said, wouldn’t blame the lad at all if he wanted to go elsewhere
