Would you both agree that our use of the channels has improved a lot under Clement? By that I mean half space occupation and a mix between in and out movements depending on the wide players used…

Mren90

Happy new year, guys. What kind of players do you think the manager will want to bring in to fit his style? Great show 👍

Dylon Aitken

Should we be fine tuning and personalising OOP blocks and in possession structures to certain teams the same way that gio done during the europa league run or stick with a clear 4-2-3-1 in possession and a 4-4-2 block out of possession. Did we get picked apart in the old firm due to a lack of tactical awareness i.e cantwell not being tactically aware enough to sit on mcgregor or did the way we set up limit him and dessers in what we could achieve.

Ryan Stewart

Thoughts on Dujon Sterling and how he best fits a Clement team in the long term? Is he a midfielder now? Also just a general discussion around the midfield would be great. How if at all Clement has changed it? It’s an area where we continue to struggle imo and have ever since coming back into the Premier League

David Clapperton

We play lots of long straight or diagonal balls from back to front under PC. There doesn’t seem to be a midfield option that is there to take the ball on the swivel and progress play from deep. Do you think that role was still being earmarked by Beale with the hope that Steven Davis would make a comeback and play there? However ludicrous that may sound, the door was never closed on a return for him, quite the opposite actually, and his squad number is still not taken. Is that an important role we need to fill in January in your opinions or is there just too many far more important areas we need to strengthen so we’ll need to make do with what we have?

Callum Dinnen

My big concern with the team at the start of the season was the absolute state of our midfield. Clement's performed minor miracles since he came in - is there any particular type of player you think we should be targeting for that area in January, because IMO central midfield (and I include the paucity of options at 10 in that) is by far our biggest weakness.

Ian w

I always think we need a more mobile, quick thinking defensive midfielder than we have at present. Is that unfair or do you think it is an area we need to improve.

Danny

Clement has done brilliant and it was his first OF so I’ll cut him slack, however, we need to figure out why we are a disjointed mess against this scum.

Andy McKellar

With injuries the centre of midfield has been more combative / functional than normal. How does Clement combat that lack of creativity tactically?

James McGee

For those of us who aren’t great tactically what is Phil doing differently to Gio and Beale?

Craig

Can Cantwell play to his best in any position in Clement's preferred setup, or does he need to sit behind a front two like the end of last season to flourish?

Mandy Lifeboat.

Could we ever see Clement playing two up front & sacrificing a wing position ?

Caitlin Robertson

What transfer rumours are actually true as there’s a lot going about

Do you think that Scottish referees have decided that the best tactic for refereeing an old firm game, to minimise the risk of their home being petrol bombed and their families terrorised and threatened, is to ensure that they don’t give any decisions against separate entity fc in the theatre of secrets. Apologies I’m still a tad annoyed at the overall performance of the officials at the weekend.

Mark Davidson

Not really a technical question as I am a lay man in terms of football technicalities but we've seen a major drop off between last seasons Cantwell v this seasons. What has changed in terms of his role and position in the team? Last season I was thinking you build your team around him and he'd be gone within 18 months for 15m and now im not sure with a fully fit squad he even gets in the team. Also what players do you think has really flourished under the new management team and what players have regressed and why?

Brian Rae

Do you think the direct long balls etc and the regular bypassing of our midfield is going to be the plan from now on or is it simply due to the players currently available?

Scott Watson

Based on what Clement has done previously in his career, what we've seen so far, and the paucity of fit players to select, how close do you think our current tactical approach is to what he wants to do and what changes do you think he wants to make?

Fraser Black

Another one in regards to the direct/long passing we have been seeing. At times I was assuming it was due to some of the options we have, but now I’m starting to think this is a genuine tactic we are looking for on a regular basis. However, I would suggest we are really inconsistent with this, Tav, Goldson & less so Barisic are all shelling the ball forward to Sima & a very immobile Dessers, with more often than not the ball not sticking, players offside or even the ball getting punted out of play (see McGregors comments!) Do you guys think a Raskin or a new type of CDM will alter these tactics or do you think it’s something that’s here to stay?

Spoon

I think of the midfield set ups we have seen recently the best balance seems to have come from Sterling, Dowell and Cantwell. I’m not saying they are our best individual players but there was something solid and at the same time creative about that line up that I liked. It also seemed to get the best out of Cantwell who is struggling (in my own opinion) to make an impact. What are your own thoughts on the midfield, when Lundstrum came back in at the weekend I felt that the positivity we had seen from him had gone again (appreciate fitness might have been a factor) but moving forward could Sterling give the base that gets the best from the guys like Dowell, Cantwell and Cifuentes ? Since getting the midfield berth I have been really impressed with Sterlings ability to get about the park and snuff out or at least shut down opposition, for me at the weekend he was the obvious choice to sit on McGregor even if that pushed him up a bit beyond his comfort zone as Cantwell just doesn’t have that role in his game. I am critical of Cantwell mostly as he is made out to a class above the majority of the other forwards which to my mind he has yet to show consistently but I can see a place for him if he can fix a few bits of his game and we find strikers that compliment instead of hinder him.

Douglas Alexander Pate

Why don’t we press the Tim’s, we have seen it work, Ut we seem to sit off and let them play

Paul

McCausland constantly cuts inside. It would be nice to have a winger who can mix it up. Or is this what Clement wants? For me, it's far too predictable.

David Speedie

Think it’s obvious we lack quality all across the front areas Silva has came in What’s the priority now? I’d say a left footed wide man and another striker Sterling’s emergence and hopefully players returning could see us get bye in midfield Left back is another obvious area but I’m thinking that’ll be for the summer unless someone wants to give us cash for Ridvan this month.

Greg Cunningham

Statistically, are we a better team with Jack or Sterling in midfield?

Jamie Townend

Mid to longer term. How does the team move on from the reliance on Tavernier for the 'big' moments and goals? I dread to think where we'd be without him but he can't play at the levels we're used to forever

Scotch

Freekicks, corners, set pieces - yes Tav has scored a few stunners but those are 1 out of 10 attempts. Corners usually hit the first defender, or are low powered so any attacking header is easily saved. What work can be done on set plays, and should we always rely on Tav for corners?

stefan strzelecki

With a recognition that we now see clement , advocate long diagonal passing as a pivotal part of the attacking patterns of play, Is the concern about mobility of Shankland any longer valid? I know for the purest who love progressive football , it’s not a nice subject matter. However, more technical teams , particularly in later stages of Europe , will demand that we have the key components in our football repertoire. Shankland can elevate us in this regard, as he is an unknown quality player. His close control, strength, can link play for the more dynamic threats within the team , such as Silva, Sima, Wright, Matondo.

Scott Watson

We've had six permanent managers favour Tav for set pieces. Are they all having the same delusion or is it more likely that he is consistently the best dead ball taker in the squad?

Gregg

Would love to see us take more short ones - 1/33 or something result in a goal. Lottery ticket stuff really

Graeme Brown

What were the positivities / negatives of Ridvan playing as a more inverted fullback against Kilmarnock today? It seemed to be a halftime tweak from Clement that got more out of his passing, and free up a bit more space for Sima in the second half. Could Barasic do the same? Could we play with both fullbacks inverted (I think we’d lose too many of Tav’s strengths by playing him tucked in). )

Gordon

Past history being best indicator of the future has Clement always played with 2 wide players or has he played with 2 through the middle. From brief 20 mins Silva does not look a target man centre. How do we counter the influence of McGregor in the next Celtic match - do we sacrifice someone to sit on him or what?

Rona Bluebell

It’s not currently about tactics so much but the lack of quality to carry them out. We get chances but some just cannot capitalise

Graeme Brown

It’ll be interesting to see how Cantwell’s form is affected by Raskin (hopefully) being fit again after the winter break. Last season I thought they played like “hand in glove”; as though they’d been teammates for years. Neither started this season well and Raskin was injured quite early on. Fingers crossed Raskin’s return means we get the best version of Cantwell back too.

8luenose1872

If sterling got that order from PC then he would mark him out the game IMO but do we want to lose his influence breaking up the play all over the Midfield?
