Hoggy is back and flying solo, in a week that even Arkwright would suggest "it's been a funny old week".  And not "funny - haha".

Defeat at Parkhead, penalty VAR official controversy, SFA statements telling Heart and Hand we were right(!).......right through to the Loving Cup and 125 years since we won the league with a perfect 100% record!

If Hoggy finds time, another Hamper will be recorded for midweek.  But get involved - do you agree, disagree, etc.

Enjoy x

Hoggy the thing is Rangers will not take it any further they never do so don’t be surprised or get upset when the same thing happens again at Ibrox , Rangers will think job done we’ve done what everyone asked but they’ve not we really need to pursue this ,but I think it’ll end up the same way the last time we asked for collum not to officiate any of our games

Steven Brockett

Hoggy, great work mate. Another point I thought when listening to you. The linesman does not indicate that there might have been offside during that play.

Gregg

I disagree it’s reasonable to ask Collum doesn’t referee us again. This has allowed the narrative that we want to pick and choose who refs us and has deflected from the facts. If he has covered up his decision - which seems clear - we should have asked for him to be sacked. He is unfit to referee anyone including ourselves

David Herd

I totally agree here. He should either be a referee or not. Clubs can't decide which officials they get, and the governing body would never agree to clubs having that power. The only demand we should have is that any official who lies to cover up incompetence must be removed from the game.

James McSween

Do we know if the VAR room is videoed during the games ? I’m sure EPL have video footage from VAR rooms. This would surly capture any skulduggery that has taken place even when mics are turned off.

Craig

Hoggy, I agree either way your timeline apart from one thing, who released the offside image. I don’t think it was VAR officials, I think it was the SFA. We should also follow up the message to sky as Crocker said “we are now being told the penalty wasn’t awarded because of offside”. They went back and changed the record, just look at the spfl highlights.

David Herd

Great listen. I don't do confession much, but a wee admission. I knew the club are putting a video out on RTV tomorrow on the 125 year anniversary of the invincible league season when I raised that subject. Hopefully a few who listened to your brilliant answer to my Rangers history question on it might now fancy watching it. And I'm more than keen on us talking about our unrivalled past any time you want!

Scott

Haha great song for the intro, very appropriate 😂

Alex Bryce

Hoggy - a wee point. The handball law mentions nothing about silhouettes, “unnatural position” is with regards the “specific situation” - which worked in our favour when Goldson had his arms up and hand balled but because the situation was a shot blasted at his face, it wasn’t deemed unnatural position. It this recent case, the situation is Johnston shielding Sima from the ball. This gives the wriggle room to say that, given that context, the outstretched arm was not unnatural as it was attempting to hold Sima from the ball. 95% will disagree, but that’s the reasoning.

Stevie lawson

Great listen hoggy,Honestly,We all know why the audio won’t be released don’t we??Hope we take this all the way,

Rona Bluebell

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I bloody love Rangers 🥰

Alex Bryce

Just as a follow up, you mention pundits making comment on the handball - this doesn’t mean much to me as the understanding of the handball law is chronically woeful. The John Souttar penalty was for me a far worse decision. In no way could it be argued that, for a ball smashed towards his face from a metre or two away, was his arm in an unnatural position, so categorically not a penalty. Yet even Rangers fans I heard saying “I’ve seen them given”, “ I’d be asking for that” and most ludicrously, Marvin Barkley saying “his arm is in a natural position but I’d still expect a penalty to be given” - the exact definition of what is NOT a penalty 😂

Greg

It's come full circle from the often hard days in CR1, I can't wait to hopefully make the jump over and the future in the Copland front, it's only going to grow.

Gary Shaw

Let’s just move on…The officials involved and the SFA all know they have made a balls of it so they need to live with that in their heads that they know they can’t be trusted….At the end of the day,it wouldn’t have changed the outcome/decision…..Now let’s concentrate on getting better quality in the forward areas and give this league title a right welly because it’s there for us if the players want it bad enough (which is debatable tbh)….Can’t wait to listen tonight Hoggy, makes my delivery shift fly by ❤️🤍💙

chris smith

Hoggy, your bent refs analogy is undermined by the reality of how refs are chosen to be SPL refs … and where they are recruited from. Almost all refs are recruited from the same part of the country … we know that there is a clear demographic divide in parts of Scotland ie North Lanarkshire

John Smith

Williegate 😂 that’s what they should’ve called the Clinton Impeachment

Nicholas Dickson

Think your spot on about what happened at half time

Angus Mackay

Williegate. 🤣 Outstanding, Hoggy. More seriously though, you call it 100% correct from beginning to end. The minute I put two and two together and realised what had happened (which was pretty soon after full time last Saturday) I felt this was a watershed moment. Either the club pursues this to the bitter end or it'll be 100% open season on us. It's a matter of will - the other lot had the will to carry on through the flack until they got to the point where refereeing worked for them; we need to be willing to keep going to the point that it no longer works against us. Bennett and Bisgrove have made a very good start on all other fronts, let's see if they've got the minerals for this kind of scrap. The fans need to keep up public pressure too though.

David_Davy_Dave

For those wanting us to be “the bigger club”, the only other thing I can think we do is push the SFA to clamp down on the intimidation eg why no disrepute charge for Celtic after every AGM? That would be them protecting their referees and relieving a pressure they seem unable to cope with

Tom

Heart & Hand, hated but rated! ❤️🤚🏻🗡️🛡️ No surrender H&H.

Another brilliant show on the network that terrifies the SFA 😁 We can't as a club let this go or it will only get worse. Btw, the last time they lost the first two OF games but still won the league was in 1968/69. We won a famous game at the piggery 4-2 and the return at Ibrox 1-0 but lost the league by 5 pts due to mental results like 3 pts dropped to Airdrie (2 pts for a win of course), losing away to St Johnstone, draws home and away to Kilmarnock and 3 pts to a struggling Aberdeen that we beat 6-1 in the SCSF. It's rare, but it can be done and with PC in charge it's almost like a new season from the early days shit-show under the previous manager. Come on Rangers, do it! As for history in general, without it we are just another club. I was always a bit of an anorak as a kid, reading up on previous games, not just finals, and players and checking back to see who we played this day 30, 40, 50 years earlier etc. That history is what makes us what we are, good and bad, and we should never forget it.

stefan strzelecki

Love this analysis Hoggy. I agree with your opinions . It would seem that our refereeing fraternity are happy to take £1000 , so long , as they can officiate as though VAR isn’t a protocol used for Rangers. For sure, it is evidenced in the cutting edge games , that can influence the distribution of prizes, that VAR will only be relevant when it’s to the detriment of Rangers. Why is this case? I think the culture of Celtic , that fabricate victimisation , weigh heavily in these circumstances . I fully support Rangers being unrelenting in this dispute, change needs to happen, quiet conservatism won’t work. Thanks for the music, it reminds of the” grand old days of yore” with Souness and Walter match days at Ibrox . (Every time I hear Fleetwood Mac) 💙🇬🇧

John Davidson

Thanks Ian. That was an outstanding show. And a great choice of song!

Kirk Guthrie

Thanks for explaining the whole loving cup ceremony and history, I was curious about that

Allan Osborne

On the Loving Cup. Do any other clubs still have theirs, the FA etc, does anyone know?

David Booth

Making this comment about 5 minutes into listening deliberately so I don't het distracted with all the other topics... Whether the penalty should have been given, shouldn't have been, VAR should have overturned, shouldn't have, it was offside, it wasn't is completely irrelevant. Someone within the SFA has been duplicitous at some stage. This has to be investigated and the person responsible for the misleading information has to be held to account. Someone lied. The ironic thing being this whole saga actually gives more credence to the tin hat tims conspiracy theories than any bad decision ever has, but they don't care now of course. For the record - I don't think it was cheating. It was a bad decision made by inadequate and poorly qualified officials. But it's clear someone has tried to lie and cover it up rather than be honest. That is an unforgivable act that has to be punished.

Alastair McGeoch

I personally think Rangers have mishandled the situation in going straight after the decision after the game when taking some time before taking a position. I do think Rangers need to respond to SFA statement but should phrase it as a drawing line under it. Rangers should state 1) fact, penalty was not given as Willie Collum deemed it a natural position. Laughable decision questioned by everyone at half time 2) offside introduced after breaking understood protocol - leave SFA to explain that 3) SFA are meant to represent all clubs and issuing a warning to Rangers and their fans over the safety of officials when they have said nothing whilst other member clubs have routinely called the integrity of officials over a sustained period merited no comment from the SFA. Point 3 is interesting, if SFA responded on it an opened the door it gives rangers an opportunity to put all the Celtic driven stuff on the table along with numerous managers making comments this season about not getting “penalties” Forgot to add, by defending Collum it almost guarantees Collum making a howler in a game that costs celtic points in the 2nd half of the season and all his defenders will turn on him like the absolute hypocrites they are

Alastair McGeoch

Hoggy, can you have a word with the person who puts the pre match playlist together at ibrox, would be funny to have little lies by fleetwood Mac belting out close to kick off each home match - particularly if the SFA go big and give Collum a game at ibrox!

Phileas Fogg 55

If only we could borrow the rugby union refs 😜. Watching the 6 nations, the refs are respected, professional, contribute to the benefit of the game and transparent. In addition, being "miked up" to avoid any anomalies and mis-trust.

Russ

'kinell didn't think it would be that far back! Great to know though.
