John Smith

Please tell me you’ll stick around to chat with Neil Warnock David

James Thomson

That songs just got to be a good omen. Classic

John Smith

If it were up to me I’d ban parking the bus. Anti football should not be allowed in the game. It should be in the laws that you’ve got to have some what if an attempt

Colin Gardner

We got to a Uefa Cup Final using those tactics John. Its horrific but if teams like Livi come out and play attacking football we'd take 8 or 9 off them.

Neil Buchanan

Drivers Seat 💺! How great and how appropriate does that sound?

John Smith

We did to an extent Colin but I’m not sure Walter ever went as full on as some of these other Scottish teams. I could be wrong. And yes I would like 8 or 9 so I’m biased in that regard lol

Stephen

If the premiership was to be expanded to say 16/18 teams could they not make the league cup into regionalised (Fife, Glasgow, Tayside etc) champions league-style groups of four thus guaranteeing more derbies across Scotland and the extra two old firm games? I think with the increase in lucrative European/International fixtures from next year leagues across europe will be looking to reduce their fixture list to protect players and avoid more injuries/fatigue.

LD

Will there be VAR on Saturday?

David Kiltie

So nervous about tonight. I remember in Gerrard’s first season we went top of the league with a win at Tynecastle then lost 3 days later to the Sheep at Ibrox. Much is made of our defeat at Rugby Park the following January as the key to our title bid unravelling, but I think the defeat in early December was also very significant.

Mr J K Murray

how is that gripping' vatican thriller ref allowed back as a pandect, will nice one C become a distinguished Ibrox preformer of stage & screen, hic, expect our players to be like a well watered garden [Isaiah 58:11] in knowing how to attain equity at the top, ect

Rearrange current 42 teams over 4 leagues in to new senior setup with 3 leagues of 14/16/16 teams (adding 4 to make 46) 14 team top flight: Play every team home and away (26 games) Split in to top 7 for Europe and league, bottom 7 for relegation. Games are staggered now and not 3pm Sat, so scope for lots on TV Playing home and away (12 games top, 12 games bottom) Gives teams same number of games as now. Keeps the mandatory 4 OF needed for TV. Gets rid of the 3/1 nonesense with the split currently as you'd always play teams same number of home as you do away. If the one team not playing in a matchday is an issue, could go with 16 teams, in top flight, then split with few teams in top tier to prevent the better teams having too many games since they do better in cups and compete in europe. E.g. 6 and 10. Top teams play 30 game pre split and 10 post split, so 2 more games. Bottom teams get more gate receipts and thus more funding to compete. The above is just a suggestion, there is a lot of room to manouvre, provided the people in charge of running the game show some imagination, creativity and bottle. ...also would expect 2nd tier with 16 teams and third tier with 16. More teams needed: can come from lowland, from highland or colts places

Greg

Ooh Phil better watch, I can already hear the gnashing of teeth "who does this foreigner think he is turning up in our league telling us what to do"

Gary Brown

Thanks for the update David & Adam. Every game at Rangers is a must win but let's not put extra pressure or show impatience tonight. I have total confidence in the manager and team to get the result. The manager said post Livi match the patience, encouragement and the lack of nerves from the stands is having a very big positive effect on the team. So let's all keep doing that.

Russ

Buzzing for later, early goal and it could be a special night!

David Macintosh

The extra 2 old firm games don't seem to be so precyfor a few of the teams who are reducing our allocation. I am confident if we increase the league numbers it will be a success. So many teams in championship who are equal and in some case bigger clubs with bigger supports.

Stephen

I think so. Definitely was in the cup against Thistle last year

Stephen

Disagree. These teams aren’t there to make sure we are entertained. It’s the only way they will get anything out of the game. They could argue that it’s not fair that we spend more money on transfers than they do etc. I agree it’s no fun to watch but they have to do what is best for them.

David Clapperton

Think the league reconstruction would make a very interesting discussion show. David hosting, Adam on how it could change the tactical approaches and long term benefits/ draw backs, Hoggy or Andy for the numbers and financial side and maybe David Marshall who not only could give us his Rangers point of view but also has family members with other allegiances so could cover the opinions from outwith our support.

Doogz

Forget the new manager bounce. If we are up for it there is only one outcome. Play our game and don’t let them drag you into what they would like it to be. Be usual time wasting feigning injury, Shinnie in particular allowed persistent fouling before getting booked in 80th min. There’s a reason the bookies have Rangers 1/4 and them 9/1, hope Ibrox is bouncing and we are at them from the off.

Graham Jones

I can just about remember as a little kid that we did have bigger leagues, and the argument for reforming to a smaller Premiere League was out of utter greed from the likes of Aberdeen and clubs like them. They wanted the four full houses against the us and the other lot. I’m not sure that is relevant anymore, as most of them have decided to cut tickets from away fans now. I’d love to see a larger league, but I’m not sure there is a strong appeal for one commercially from TV. We need better individuals at the top driving the commercial appeal of Scottish football, so that there is more revenue being generated for every club. There’s a clear lack of cash in Scottish football. You can’t bring in better quality without it, and you can’t retain the better player either. There’s a constant drain of talent and it’s because of poor decision making from those administrating the game.

Mark

Agree - needs imagination, creativity. Sky deal to consider as well. 16 teams play home and away then split into top teams 1-4 play each other home and away 5-8,9-12,13-16 do the same. 36 games in total. Would be some issues with that but current set up has issues already as you could end up in the bottom half at the moment and get more points than someone who qualified for Europe if the league was really tight.

John McCluskey

What have you got against nutters that stand on tables and give it laldy? Asking for a friend 🤣

Ross Whitehead

I would prefer a 16 team league with no split. Play each other home and away once. 2 down automatically and perhaps a 3rd goes into a playoff. Obviously that means 8 less league games and 2 less OF games, so it'll never happen.
