Spot on comment David. In some ways showing the character to come back from the knocks is what’s evident and different from earlier in the season. I have been critical of the squad and some of the veterans and characters but to be fair to them it’s perhaps been a bigger bin fire from the last manager than we understand from the outside. Credit will rightly go to Clement who has been nothing short of a managerial colossus for us, chratacter, charisma and the proper management chops to back it all up, you can’t help but love him. In fairness to some of the players who were attracting flak like Lundstrum, Cantwell and the resurrected Dessers they have also shown immense character and exactly the type of response to being challenged that Rangers players need. It’s one thing for a new manager to come in and through force of will drive a team but the players must also have the mentality to take the opportunity and respond. Cantwells attitude would have led me to believe he was more likely to the take the huff than knuckle down, he hasn’t and particularly in the last few games he has been a difference maker. I absolutely buy into guys who come through hardship, who can take a knock then self reflect and improve and I’m delighted to say he’s changing my mind on his worth to the team. Lundstrum likewise and to my mind there are currently just no passengers. The feel around the team and club is the best it has been in a long long time and even if we do trip or fall short this season I am convinced if we stick with this manger and build success is inevitable. Great time to be a fan, genuine excitement every game and each player starts with the benefit of the doubt and the old baggage forgotten. Long may it continue.

Heart and Hand

Couldn’t agree more. I’m a great believer in the maxim that you learn more about character in hard times than good. Everyone gets setbacks, in work, in life. It’s how we respond that counts.

Jim McCutcheon

Thanks again David thing's are looking good 👍 😀

Colin Gardner

Buzzing to be in a title race but I don't think my heart and nerves will hold out! Well done to the players and fans last night for their effort.

Scott Wright (Not That One)

As much as it was tremendous last night, I have to admit, I’m having CROPod withdrawals 😬 I know you’re a busy man David but do we have an ETA on the CROPod dropping? Cheers again for the DU 👍🏻

LD

Looking forward to finding out what injury Shane has sustained celebrating the win

Tamus

Is there not 2 referees in the VAR room telling Har Don Robertson that he might be wrong

The Gallant Pioneer

We the crowded were superb last night we def lifted the team just when they needed it

Russ

Watching the game back David, Robertson completely loses control of the match 5-10 minutes prior to Sterling's red (if he ever had control). Players flying in left and right and Robertson just plays on and on until lo and behold, someone pushes it too far. We're lucky someone didn't get injured during that phase of the game tbh, it was dangerous refereeing imo.

Ian McMorrin

Good comments on the early leaving issue David. People can be very hypocritical over this to be honest. A lot of the people who criticise early leavers live in or around Glasgow , I l iive 150 miles from Glasgow and travel on public transport. Last night , for instance , I had to leave on 85 minutes to ensure I caught my last bus home, which got in at 2 a.m. , followed by a taxi to my house. I wish I lived half an hour from the ground but sadly I don't and I stay for the 90 whenever it is possible. People should stop and think before criticising other Bears!

Brian Rae

On people leaving early, didn't Dortmund implement a compulsory scan-out procedure and those continually leaving early lost their season ticket at the end of that season? With a waiting list of 20,000 or so, the club should be considering similar. No one owns their seat, they are renting it and IMO, the no.1 priority is supporting the team.

Nikki Philp

Is Playing U2 no a “ bullet for the IRA” ?

Robert White

Ian. Noone would criticise you , anyone ina similar position. I watch hundreds leave at halftime for the pub. My view is then blocked from 80 mins as thousands head for the pub. Only hundreds are working or catching their only transport. It's a big issue.

Ecky G

I have a different view on this but have no evidence to back it up as I have never asked anyone who left early where they were going to. In my opinion the offenders are the buses that don’t park but “hover” on the approach roads picking up members for a quick getaway. It has been alluded to that members are told they must be back by a certain time or they are left. Most I have seen were Glasgow or West coast based clubs. There will be people who do have connection issues but not the mass exodus that occurs regularly.

Bob MacCallum

Did well against TWO refs last night: Dons Robertson and that vile cheat, Shinnie.

Mark

People have left early for decades. It isn't going to change. One day we'll stop whinging about it and concentrate on themselves.

Paul Kerr

It was always drummed into me to stay to end and clap and cheer the team off or if necessary give them the boos and jeers instead. These days living outside Scotland I don't get to go anywhere near as often as I would like so I want to drink in every minute when I am there. Not a pop at anyone who has different priorities, everyone does what's best for them, but the thing I hate is the guy who rocks in steamin 25 mins after kick off and never reappears for the second half. Waste of a ticket.

Heart and Hand

Tbh I’m a big fan of U2s three 90s albums. Achtung Baby in particular. I don’t know if that loses staunch points but I know plenty Bears like them!

Hendi

I left early on Saturday, would rather have an hour of my night back than watch 15 mins of a dead game. I understand people wanting the crowd to stay. However, I can guarantee that self righteous complaining and trying to dictate to others how they should behave will just make folk more stubborn in their desire to leave early.

G Calder

Thanks for reading out my question regards the fans leaving early - I know we cant make people remain for 90 mins - BUT those that do need to realise its having a impact on the team . Id love us all to do our best for the remainder of this season to stay for 90 - and get our team over the line . If anyone has attended german games - there is a culture of staying to the end - Certainly the ones I’ve been to 🇬🇧HSV 🇩🇪, Stuttgart , Hertha , Union Berlin - All fans there for the 90 . Thats just my opinion.. It was great last night Im hoping we get that for the rest of the season at ibrox 👍👍🫡🇬🇧

G Calder

I didn’t criticise ALL people that leave from 70 mins onwards ..

G Calder

Ive attended a number of games in Germany - very few leave early . That said - you can get a swally in the stadium 😝🍻🍻

G Calder

Im not being self righteous - just highlighting it has a negative impact on the players . I think thats hard to disagree with .

Hendi

Aye I'm talking about folk on twitter, not anything on here.

G Calder

PS at no time did I say people should be FORCED to stay for 90 mins - thats crazy . But encouraged to stay .. The Broomloan Collective had a post for last night Stay for 90 sing for 90 . Was that wrong for them to say that ?

G Calder

I wasnt whinging - just highlighting it has a negative impact on players . 👍

Neil Johnston

I found myself squaring up to someone (couldn't fight my way out a paper bag) because they shouted at me for leaving at halftime earlier in the season. I had a family emergency and had to leave. To be heckled under that strain is completely out of order so I think it's wise to keep mouths shut as we don't onow people's personal circumstances. On the other hand I'm usually in the ground 45 mins before and one of the last to leave the club deck and really do wish more people would stay throughout. It's a tough one.

Heart and Hand

The fact is, yes, it does mean more to some people to have more time in pub/get home an hour earlier than seeing the last ten minutes. I think we just have to accept it. Last night showed if the games matter that will change the equation for many.

G Calder

Whats your thoughts on the Broomloan Collective saying this - Stay for 90, Sing for 90. Bring your voices this Tuesday and roar the team on to victory. Every supporter has a duty to back the team throughout the full match to secure a massive 3 points. Everything from Everyone.

Rona Bluebell

The board deserves credit for acting quickly to change manager and bring Clemente in. He’s God. 😇

Kirsty Wilson

Another great song choice guys starts my morning walk off 😁

Gary Brown

Thanks for the update David. A great performance and result. The next league game is just as big, just as important. No extra points for beating certain teams. I think the entire team played very well, great attitude too. Disagree the crowd were right behind them all night. Goal against and the bubble burst. Flat at HT. No great welcome back and flat 45-65 mins too. Team needed us then! A difficult time when momentum could really have shifted to the sheep. Plenty good play & chances created but not met with the same fervour, encouragement, cheers & applause, ie 'support', that the same type of play & chances got in the 1st half. It was noticable at least 4, probably 5, maybe even 6 different players motioned for crowd support during that period. Crowd certainly didn't turn and it wasn't negative (bar the usual suspects!) but it wasn't as positive as it could and should have been. Fair doos the plea from the players worked. The more fans who got back into it, the more the play improved and we scored again. Coincidence? (Last 5 min and added time was more like cries of panic & relief than support! But hey, 1 thing at a time) This manager and these players have shown they can overcome setbacks many times and in big games too; Hearts H, (a late charge from Sparta H), Sheep A, Aris H, Betis A, & Sheep again last night. First away win vs Spanish team. Topped UEL group. Last 16. Won League Cup for first time since 2011. Kept winning to come back into a title race after being totally written off. Manager, staff & team have done incredible, near impossible things since October. They fully deserve full backing. All this 'scar tissue' and 'oh a bad thing happened in a game vs this lot four seasons ago' guff needs rammed in the bin. That was then. This is Clement's Rangers now. Leaving early? Only have to justify the reason to yourself. Only thing I'd say is each match is unique, only played live at Ibrox once, you only get one chance to experience it live in Ibrox once.

Rose Mcloughlin

Great game last night..still high cant wait to keep the pressure going ....cant believe the discussion still going on about fans leaving early..I stay to the last second..applaud the players then leave but I stay 20 min walk from the stadium so no hassle...but as for the ones who leave early do people think they dont care..they have loads of reasons they have to leave..and they most likely hate it but have no choice...so stop moaning at them instead thank them because if they have long distances to go to get home they are putting in the effort to attend the game ...if your staying to the end just cheer louder...and support each other.

Billy Forrester

I heard a smurmering of boos at half time and couldn’t believe it, absolutely no need for that, I know it was a small minority but how fickle and entitled are the clowns who did boo 😡

Gary Brown

Agree totally Billy. Winning 11 outa 12 league titles you can feel entitled. Winning 1 in 12 years you can not. Of course you can be upset or even angry at conceding a goal, you should be! But you've got until the re-start to wallow in self absorbtion. Need to get right back into the game and make up for it. Jeez! That re-start used to be an automatic cue for the loudest 'The cry was No Surrender' you could shout!

Paul Kerr

That's cool. Lots of supporters feel the same. As I said everyone does what's best for them. However it would be remiss if I didn't mention that we are where we are right now because many of the support don't feel the same. Without vocal objection the board would have let Beale limp on for another while. I wasn't at that Aberdeen game, but if I had been I would have joined them. I make no apology for that.
