I miss these game by game reviews, they used to help me order my thoughts about the team, form etc

Adam for me, aye it’s probably correct to say it was 1.1 XPG that’s because the two of the 3 chances Dessers ( in between his goals) had he probably should’ve passed the ball. If he had passed the ball they were almost a certain goal. Frustrating. Other than the score line. We looked like a proper footballing team. Some great bits of play. Loved the podcast lads. Great insight.

Thanks for another great episode of Tactics Talk Adam & Ally, always really enjoy your show. I think we're now really seeing the start of the manager's style. He 'managed', in the literal sense of the word, what he had Oct-Dec. Worked on fitness, injuries, confidence & teamwork, basically got them doing what they have been the past few seasons but doing it well and quicker. Didn't actually change much, if anything. Since winter break he seems comfortable with their fitness level, injuries have passed (pretty much!) and got a couple of 'his' players in. Now we're seeing tactical & style changes, only possible as the fitness is improved and with the solid base of doing the basics well, confidence up and faith gained in him and his methods as he's routinely proved himself right. Now they're confident in themselves and him so open to adaptations and extending themselves tactically and technically. We can gain plenty of understanding about his style of play by listening to what he says in pressers and pre & postmatch interviews. Squad rotation, managing minutes, all team defence, all team attack, anyone scores, fast, entertaining but not reckless. He's rational and realistic - the polar opposite of the vast majority of our fanbase. We're in a good place right now but higher conversion rate of chances and set pieces are next on his list. Dessers opener, lovely technical control and a clever finish. Goals vs Betis, Hibs, St Mirren & now County of a technical quality never seen from a certain Snr Morelos. Cortes - early signs he looks great. Maybe just me but I see great similarity to Mark Walters in the way he moves and carries himself. Tenacious attitude too. Looking forward to seeing more great football from us and fully believe it'll get even better.

Really enjoyable pod guys. Great to hear positivity after some of the baffling negative posts on twitter. I thought we played great, some of the best football I've seen at Ibrox in ages. Doesn't feel like a false dawn, feels like a genuine push for the title.

Ross F

Am I right in saying Cortes in his career so far has played predominantly on the right?

Adam Thornton

No, according to Wyscout he’s played left, right and through the middle an almost equal amount of minutes.

Excellent pod as always gents. For me we are now seeing the stark contrast between coaching and managing. The team set up and output mid week was excellent, a joy to watch and I would take that level of graft and guile every week, that style of win is proper rangers of the 90s. The manager is now using the squad in a way a coach doesn’t, the man management is evident, the work ethic is shining through as is the discipline in both mentality and play. My biggest confidence this is building to be something special is the return of the ‘eye of the tiger’ the hunger from players to be winners is clear again and that to me was the biggest issue in recent seasons. The benefit of getting a full squad of varying talent all aligned, on message and delivering is clear. The management of expectation of players to not have to play every week for 90 but still contribute is a huge upside. I hope the fans start to realise that even the less fancied guys or the whipping boys are being repeatedly played by Clement as he knows they are giving something in a game or a period of a game we need. The big issue we faced recently was burnout of and over reliance on key players. The constant tweaks, game by game tactical shuffles and in game minute management is a real indicator for me of the managers clear quality. I think we are now getting more from guys even though their minutes may be going down in game. Another real difference front the coach mentality. Really excited to see how the team develops, if we don’t get something from this season (and I believe we will) the the foundations are clear for next season. I don’t care about goals missed when we are winning by clear goals. It might be different if your wasteful and can only scrape 1-0 it as the podders say when it’s wave after wave, intense pressure and shots rushing in I can live with misses. Exciting times ahead, the only time leave position matters is the final day and if we get players back

Thank you gentlemen, really enjoyed getting an insight into how you looked at the game Would you ever consider doing a watch-along for a game you're not at where you talk us through how you are seeing things? Presumably on youtube so we don't crash patreon again 😃
