RM Covered Jordan's FAVORITE Song Of All Time!

When Jordan heard that RM covered/re-made Drake's song, "Too Much," from his 2013 album, "Nothing Was The Same," he could not resist listening to it. And it turns out that this song is exactly what we needed to hear as we start our BTS journey. Enjoy!! It's clear that you haven't kept up with RM's music because he's still raw. Being raw does not mean every song you put out has to be negative and sad, and he's not the same exact person now as he was when he wrote this song, you can't expect him to be negative all the time. He also clearly explained how he himself felt bout this masterful rendition. Him being calm should be a good thing, especially considering all that he suffered through. He even wrote a song about wanting to die. He's written songs about hating himself, wanting to disappear. Do you really want him to go back to that?? You not liking him being "too calm" when the quality of his music is still top tier, and you wanting him to always be stressed and depressed for your entertainment is weird af. This man suffered for years since 19 and now that he's in a better mindset than before, you wanna find a problem in that. He never lost that rawness, you just hate that he's happier now.

Ayda

This is one of my favorite covers am glad you are reacting to it🥰🥰🥰 I was also wandering when the next Rise of Bangtan episode will be released?

J-Lee

I never clicked on a notif this fast 🤭 Drake has been a big influence to the boys from the start. And the fact that he was also a nominee in the 2021 AMA's where BTS won Artist of the Year, it made them feel extra honored 💜 Thanks for this my fave brothers! Such a nice way to start my day today, good morning to me and good eve to y'all!! 💜

leat

i really love this cover and i can´t wait for you to hear more of their rapping like the cypher pt 3 and 4 was my favorites and outro tear is just beautiful i think you will love it

alessia

This is one of my fav songs from his old mixtape nd songs!

HershMarie✨?

Oooh I love this cover too! But I can't wait for you guys to watch all cyphers including the live ones. But anyways, wonder when will be the next Rise of Bangtan episode? And Jordan, you nailed! Jared's face though. 🤭 I love yall facial expressions🙂💜🫶🏻

dulseokbangtan

Ik you guys are gonna FREAK when you get to mono. RM is so talented, kind and smart. He's got the cheat code I'm not gonna hold you.

dulseokbangtan

It takes alot to be the leader of the biggest group in the world and still be the amazing artist that he is. He's been under immense pressure for the last 10+ years, the first time we've seen RM break down in a long while was at the Festa Dinner last month. As you said he's usually put together, calculated & composed. So we must always listen and really take it in when he bares himself for us, for ARMY, for Kim Namjoon.

Martie Shaw

Thank you for that reaction to a song I never heard before from both artists. But just listening to both of them, I can fell the pain and the understanding of the lyrics. Thank you so much and looking forward to your next reaction to BTS.💜💜💜💜🥰🥰🥰

JPz⁷

Love that you were able to connect even deeper to RM and BTS. It's always so special to see how the members pay tribute to their inspirations. RM has such a powerful way of rapping, it shows in the way he carries himself as a leader as well. All the respect to him. JK killed it as always too, and you're completely right - they both have also improved a lot since then. I hope you guys react to their Hip Hop Lover (or Hip Hop Phile) and the live performance to see them sing/rap more about who they look up to and why they love hip hop in general. Great reaction, as always!

Katherine Cordero

BTS is a big fan of Drake as well, they met backstage at the BBMAS 2019 and the clip is adorable. They were all cheesing the whole time like happy fanboys. Drake also showed his love for them, both amazing artists. Also when you said the drake’s performance was from 2013 it reminded me of how long it’s been since “Nothing was the same”, i can’t believe it came out almost 10 years ago 😭☠️

fox

This is so beautiful, the Drake performance was amazing I loved that. Joon is like the number one Drake fan, there is a video of them meeting back stage at an award show and Joon is fanboying so hard it's the cutest thing ever. Joon has grown musically quite a bit, his first and second mix tapes are both incredible and quite different from each other. One thing he's always done is write very moving or deep/ emotional lyrics. Can't wait for you to hear more of his music and also the songs he did with Yoongi, Respect on BTS map of the soul 7 album, and Strange on Agust D D2 album. (I can't help but also recommend his collaboration with artist eAeon called Don't, from eAeons 2021 album Fragile which is an absolute ear candy album no skips) Thank you!

I love their vlogs, when BTS met everyone at the BBMAS😂them hanging out with Post Malone, Pharrell, John Legend, Cardi B and Offset… (and RM meeting Nas)🔥i think at the grammys? firee

Amanda Sottani

The "alright... ok" that I'm always waiting for! 💜💜💜 And Jordan you nailed it!

Tharikha Lakshmi

Great reaction. But I was hoping you would go back to hear RM’s full version. I hope you can get to it. Even on your own time. Or at the end of one of your other reactions. His singing is RAW!! It’s unbelievably beautiful. And it’s something that I hope you’ll come back to experience. 💜

Heather Miller⁷

RM & Suga have a video on youtube before debut of kendrick lamar swimming pool and RM cover of kanye west power also a mv again before debut

Angie7

Don’t ever apologize this is your journey we are along for the ride....I’ve been army 4 years and had never heard this...thankyou for sharing this...this hole we are all in is so big and there’s so much to it...you both can sing, rap we are here for it😊....in the rise of Bangtang, the next or maybe 3rd you will see these boys lives...literally NOONE can say this or that didnt happen it’s documented....I stand firm these boys had a divine hand at their backs ....as many and as much that tried to stop them...would have made many throw in the towel....they were picked on for many many reasons even being poor (poor company)...treated like trash but I tell you everything they do, say or sing comes from the heart and mind...everything has deep meaning...there’s a performance I hope you get to check out but I haven’t seen it documented in any video as to what happened...it was during the bulletproof era...so it suprises me it’s not in the documentaries...I only found out from other Army...they did a cover of a song on a Korean show I don’t know the name but when it aired they barely showed what BTS was capable of probably because it scared them to death at the talent.....anyway BIGHIT says if your not gonna show it we will.....BIGHIT records the same performance and puts it on YouTube using 3 different camera angles....these boys couldn’t even get good coverage on tv simply cause everyone didn’t want them to succeed...the performance is called BTS bulletproof trailer...if you come up on men in white uniforms that’s the video....I’m sorry I just ramble on....Thanku for this reaction love hearing your perspective 💜💜

Sydney

This one is so special to me. You can hear the passion in every one of RM's verses; it significantly impacted me when I listened to it for the first time! Most members are really big fans of Drake and they even got a chance to meet him later on in their careers. I am guilty of learning Korean to truly understand the lyrics as well haha so it's been fun. Still, I am not a native and will never 100% understand the deepness behind the lyrics BTS creates.

dulseokbangtan
>>87945904

Exactly this. They were not supposed to be where they are today, they had all odds stacked against them in every way possible and they overcame every single one. I know exactly the performance you were talking about. Here's the link of the main reshot version. As the op said, the show messed up the camerawork so bad despite rehearsals, there's no way it wasn't on purpose. So Hitman said no we worked TOO hard, yall gon see this choreo and they reshot on their dime and showed the world what they got. And they ATE💜 https://youtu.be/S1Up-ZzHmuw

raeven b.

YES!!! I can’t get a reactor to explore RM’s self titled mixtape yet and it’s really frustrating because it’s soooo freaking good! So I’m so happy you guys gave Too Much a listen. Too Much was already one of my fave Drake tracks, so RM’s cover touches my soul! Haha 💜

Cheryl ⁷ Lambert

Don’t apologize Jordan. That sounded pretty sweet. Shoutout from Drake’s hometown of Toronto 🇨🇦. An interesting fact about Drake since you’re a fan. When he was trying to start his music career, he started acting on a Canadian TV show on CTV called Degrassi The Next Generation from 2001-08 playing Jimmy Brooks a HS basketball star disabled in a school shooting by a classmate. It was controversial at the time. I don’t know but you could probably find some episodes as it was a hit show. He’s also an ambassador for our NBA winning Raptors.

Suncedars Hul

I'm embarrassed now, I've been an army 4yrs and haven't heard this 😔 Well I have you guys to go down the rabbit hole again, thanks 😊

Irina BM

Great reaction again, thank you guys. Don't apologize, I loved to see Jordan so deeply moved and passsionate about this song. Makes me wanna pay more attention to it again. RM is one of a kind, and not only as a rapper, but a leader, a writer, a thinker.. he's a lyrical genius, he always thinks ahead, he thinks deeply about the messages of the songs he wanna convey. Nothing he does and BTS do is meaningless. You can feel his passion and his driven anger and hunger to make it back in the debut days when everything was against them, you don't know how much I respect that man. I can't wait for y'all to dive deep into the rapline and bts hip hop songs, and for you to see how much RM, Suga and J-Hope have different styles and each one of them bring something unique to the table. They are the foundation of BTS. Borahae

korgi

i've never heard namjoons cover or the original drake song but seeing this and just drakes performance and the lyrics are so meaningful and just so raw and important, I appreciate this song and how drake opened up about his struggles and took time to reflect on the things he's lost and suffered through to where he is now and how far he has come. i feel that the reason namjoon covered this is because he knows how it feels, this song clearly made him feel something and he wanted to let us know that he's been through it too just as anyone else. two amazing artists. thank you for sharing this with us. <3

Alishea

Never apologize for rapping over a song you were so good! I really love that you drove deeper into the meaning of why RM wrote the song and I respect you both so much. I guarantee you would love RM's first mixtape called RM where he really unleashed all his emotions at the time. It's such a raw and honest mixtape and extremely underrated. I can't wait to hear you rap this song in Korean what a day that would be XD

Kecia ⁷

I enjoyed your rapping! I've heard RM's cover many times because I think it's beautiful, but I had no idea it was a Drake song. In fact, this is the first time I've ever heard Drake. That is a powerful song and I'm so happy you posted this reaction. Thanks!

Ellie Rae

I can't rap any of the versions of this song, but I can rap SUGA's verse in Cypher 4 and in Daechwita (when he goes faster lol) and some of RM's verses from Tear and a few other songs

Shalia

i actually didn’t know about this. Thanks guys… The passion in this song… Jordan rapping was great too. 😄

Alana W.

Love your reaction. Not many reactors have taken the time to explore this. The way you spoke about what “Too Much” means to you really resonated. I feel the same about many bts songs ☺️ fyi - the rise of bangtan series will include clips from the “four things show” later on so you’ll see a good bit of it when you get to that episode!

Cherry Valens

One of the best reaction’s yet from you! I love your passion/feelings you put into these videos and you killed that rap part, if you ever feel the need to rap/sing for us, please do!

dyxqdthyfv

Pleeeease react to both BTS discography (of course title track aw well) and the rise of bangtan in order cuz there are so many haha It will show what BTS truly is 💜💜

Kia

Woww. Seeing Jordan’s passion for “Too Much” was just soo powerful and chill-inducing. I could feel the way it means so much to him that it made me emotional. This was probably my favorite reaction from you guys and it just made me love to watch y’all even more. Also, I wanted to say that I’m so glad you had this song to get you through some extremely hard times and that it’s still with you today. I loved you rapping with it as well, Jordan. Don’t apologize for that. Anyways I feel honored to have watched this reaction from you guys. Much love and support to you both💜💜

Bangtan Annie

This song always makes me cry. Just his raw emotion gets to me. Thanks boys, you made cry. 🙂loved your reaction. And please list to Hip Hop lover. They give homage to all who influenced them.

Maria Chavez

Thank you so much I had never seen or heard the original Drake version and it was really nice to compare the two. RM's version is an absolute emotional favorite.

Laurie Brennan⁷

I loved hearing you rap Jordan. It's so amazing when a song can pierce your soul. I feel that way about so much of BTS's music. Thanks for reacting. You will have to watch the interaction when RM met Drake at a Western award show....he was fanboying so hard.

lou marquez

thank you guys, your reactions always make my day💜

Venita Morse

You guys need to hear the version with just RM doing also the vocals. Don't get me wrong I love JK'S voice and how smooth he is. The Mashup was just a little weird for me. Anyway, I love how RM put his honest emotions and frustrations into this song. I always find it messed up how his "friends" just turned on him for make the chose to became an idol. This is one of my favorite covers.

Sayeda 🍉🇵🇸🍉

Guys please don't be afraid to play back the videos/songs. In basically all of your song and MV reactions, I catch myself wishing you guys would play it back and react to the whole thing. I feel like what I see most reactors do is either let it play through the first time and then go back to the beginning and break the lyrics/visuals down whenever they feel the need to. Or vice versa- pause in the places they feel called to the first time to dissect, and then let it play through uninterrupted after. I'm just saying I could watch y'all listen to it even more than two times so once isn't enough for me 😂

I can't wait for your to hear his 1st Mixtape "RM" and 2nd mixtape "Mono" to see how much he have grown.

Post

Imma be honest, after watching this video, all I can remember is Jordan rapping so passionately 😂😂 His face at 7:20 I can't 🤣🤣 Thanks for another great video guys!!

Nina

When are you starting to react bts shows, in the soop, run etc? ?

Michelle Tsai

I think you guys can check BTS [Hip Hop Lover].

Daisy

This was such a special reaction video. Thank you so much for sharing. 💜 I love that Jordan couldn't help but rap along in the beginning. The power of music is a beautiful thing! RM has said before that the connection we all share with each other through music is like a communion. That it breaks all barriers, especially those of language and nationality. I think Jared's comment at the end about Jordan listening to Too Much at night, trying to sleep, while during the day RM was in South Korea listening to Too Much and penning his own verses perfectly encapsulates that. Love your guys's reactions, man. Looking forward to the next one! Take care 💜

Rocky V

You boys are just delightful. Let me know if you want some company learning Hangeul!

Skyblue00

When you get to “Hip Hop Phile” (aka “Hip Hop Lover”)from BTS’s 2014 Dark and Wild album, you’ll hear them speak of their love for hip hop and a long list of the artists they admire and respect. One thing I always have to remember is how young these men are, even in 2014, born in the 90’s, and they give homage to rappers who were before their time.

Skyblue00

I totally agree with his full version! Anytime RM (and the rap line) sings, it’s real special.

Hi Ayda! So glad you enjoyed it 😊. It’s one of our favorites so far. Next Rise of Bangtan episode coming tomorrow! 💜💜

I

Just so you know for the future, the color coded lyrics can sometimes be incorrect

ræ

Loved it! Now I will listen to both Drake and RM’s renditions. 😭

Da Lantis

I love JKs voice but I love RMs edition without JK. His raw "too much" with him singing the vocals is just... wow. Its fantastic.

Da Lantis

Also adding, RM was so angry and so hurt at that time period. You can see it and hear it in his first mixtape "RM" in nearly every song.

Noll⁷

I just want to say: Love you guys. Thank you and Borahae 💜 P.S. Jordan's Rap was very cool !

Luna

I'm from Toronto n I just started going bar for bar with Jordan LMFAO. Dw it was hype. If you want to learn about all 3 rappers musical influences and how they got into music, HIP HOP PHILE is an amazing song by them. They shout out all their influences and its one of my all time fave BTS songs. BTS always gives credit where credit is due, n they know their shit. Great reaction as always guys! P.S Another RM song u might enjoy is Monster, which uses the Grown Simba beat by J Cole

Angie7

Getting closer to 1000🤗I wish I could afford 2 subscriptions to patreon 💜

Lisa Carlsson

This video brought me more joy then I would like to admit ^^ Jordan got some nice rapping skills there :O nice voice! Thank you for this video! I promise you both, there is a discography unlike no other that I've seen before. So get ready for the treassure chest of content from all the seven members, they have been known to pouring their hearts out lyrically through the years. One of my recomendations is "throw it" by RM. P.S they curse more than one would think ^^

Prise Josephine

please react to BTS hip-hop lover where they talk about artists who inspired them and their love for hip hop.

Jill L

Loved the reaction and Jordon you’ve got skills! On a side note, I have identical twin sons a few years older than you and you remind me of them. Keep up the great reactions.

Miituaine Ka

This ride with you two is TOO MUCH... I'm still buckled up and enjoying it... BORAHAE 💜 💜 💜

And

To think he was only 19 at the time whew

Rachel

As an Army this is the first time I’ve listened to this song! So I want to thank y’all because this was an honor to listen to. I respect RM so much. Also I started learning korean a year ago and even though I’m nowhere near fluent, I notice sooo many more things now and it makes certain things make way more sense. And some things it even makes more beautiful. I would LOVE to see y’all make some videos maybe learning the language and your journey? That’s my biggest request. Borahae 💜 thank you for your amazing reactions!

Bwana

I am ARMY 8yrs strong and there’s not much I haven’t heard from these 7 men. However, I had not listened to “Rap Monster’s” Too Much in a very long time. Thank you so much for igniting my soul again. And you two will enjoy learning Hangul. It’s a beautiful language and fun to learn. https://talktomeinkorean.com is an absolutely great program and takes you by the hand from beginners to fluent conversation. Enjoy🙌🏽💜

Sabrina K

Can't wait for yal to hear their cyphers when you come to it on the timeline....they GO CRAZY on their haters. The lyrics are EVERYTHING. LOL

Stacy Merlos

Omg Jordan do not apologize for rapping. You were GREAT🔥🔥🔥

Tri

please listen to the orignal with RM singing too much aswell <3

Marjorie Taylor

You are probably correct that RM would not sing these raps now. He was 18 years at the time. His emotions were so raw as only a young man of that age can feel (Korea's birthdays are 2 years ahead since they count the day they are born then the New Year). He also stated he should have never called himself Rap Monster and he is not a monster. I wonder if he looks at monster now in the view of ugly. I look at it he as he was a boss. I loved the name. I love the hair. At that time he probably wanted to be like Drake, Nas... the black rappers he so admired and respected. Jordan your rapping was on point it did not distract from the song.

lelie

I loved the reaction ! if you want a summary of BTS' albums and success, out 'The Most Beautiful Life Goes On Story' by Rice Squad: https://youtu.be/0KonKFssKnM 💜💜

Frosty FB

Ah, loved the reaction. Also, pop off Jordan! Didn't mind the rapping at all. Enjoying watching you guys delve into BTS (especially my bias RM this time)!

Members of QHC

an amazing language goal to have. super proud of your confidence

Ann W.

You are great guys! excellent choice of presenting Jungkook and Nam-Joon on this song. WOW! early glimpse of their greatness!

D.A. dream

You should listen to the original of RM in it's entirety because RM's raw vocals add such an emotion to it that is really makes you feel his pain...I mean JK did a fantastic job in the live of 2015 but the original hits so deep! you have to listen to it!

Tri

Please react to the original, I'm leaving this comment again. The emotion in RMs voice is not to be missed pleaseeee

Aja Anderson

I am in the "please drop the Jordan cover version" fan club!! l loved the passion😍 RM is a master lyricist, it's so easy to get lost in his imagery. Thank you for introducing me to both versions!

Johana

Such a great reaction!! I just cried my eyes out again just hearing this and listening to RMs raw emotions. I really can’t wait for you guys to listen more if RMs mixtapes, he is so talented and you will definitely be blown away. Also the cyphers from the rap line are so good, you def should check those out soon too! (There’s 4 parts)

Kiki

Jordan you killed that🔥🔥🔥🔥 nice one!

Kiki

You can clearly see your appreciation, passion and love for music! Seeing you guys react to one of your all time favorite songs is soooo interesting and fun. Thank you so much for letting us see a glimpse of your past and your story with this song! That totally made my day. And THEN watching you react to another artist you really love (RM) „covering“ the song that means so much to you, made me almost tear up. I could feel your emotions through the screen! I can‘t wait to see your reaction/ hear your opinion about songs like „Ddaeng“, „Joke“, „AgustD“, „The Last“, „P.O.P“ and other solo‘s from the Rapline and of course from BTS ot7. Keep doing you! You guys are amazing 💜

Amanda

Wonderful reaction! Thank you! I’m a new patron and I joined because I really wanted to see your reaction to RMs UN speech and their cover of fix you. Is it going to be unlocked in the future or is it only going to be for higher tier memberships?

Steph

I love this so much! 🥺🥰

rowanthea

I was here for every minute of this reaction. Favorite Drake song and one of my favorite RM songs. The rawest the rappers have ever been live is Outro: Tear live at Wembley. Please take another detour soon for that and all 4 cyphers. You will not regret it

Emma Stewart
>>91461886

I agree with this, Outro:Tear is a must after this. Im a non rap fan, but these boys are so special they make me love thier rap. Outro:Tear is my favourite song. ~Borahae <3

Tiana

Yas! I'm inspired. I'm going to learn, too, so I can revisit this song with you all. This is so good.

Mouna

I want the raw RM back sometimes because this RM is way too calm now don’t get me wrong I love joon but he can’t keep trying to be positive all the time.
