Today's reaction video quite literally SHOOK US to our cores.

If it were up to us, "Lie" would be nominated for an EMMY, OSCAR, GRAMMY, and TONY award all at the same time. This was a vintage and spooky cinematic masterpiece that gave us a glimpse into Jimin's extraordinary artistic mastery and diversity (sorry for the all of the fanciful language…it's the only way we know how to express our deep appreciation for BTS’ music!).

We may need to analyze "Lie" a few more times in order to truly capture and do justice to all of the intentional detail embedded within this song.

ARMY, if you haven't already seen our reaction to “Serendipity,” go check that out now on our YouTube channel! https://youtu.be/Zr00PYpF-MY

We also reacted to the “Park Jimin Introduction Video 2022,” which is live right now on Patreon! In that video, we learned about Jimin’s exceptionality, and the many different titles he holds, including…It Boy. Face of K-Pop. Sold Out King. Brand King. Mochi. Black Belt. Piano (and guitar) Player. Math Co-Teacher. Music Director. Billiards Player. Robotics Enthusiast. Lead Vocalist. Main Dancer. Fútbol Player. ARMY, ARE WE MISSING ANY OTHER TITLES!?

As always, we truly appreciate your love and support (WE’LL CONTINUE SAYING THIS UNTIL THE END OF TIME). Your subscription allows us to produce higher-quality reaction videos, and moves us closer to our goal of doing this full-time! Let us know if you have any questions, feedback, thoughts, etc. at any time! BORAHAE!! 💜💜

I actually kind of agree with this. I really love the stage mixes, but I do agree that for some songs it can be a distraction and you can miss the nuance of just a really good performance. Plus I think some are better than others. I think you definitely lost some of the effect with the stage mix for "Lie". And now I will confess, I just spent a few hours perusing YT for more performance videos of "Lie" and this is not the first time I have done this. So, this time I made a playlist of all of the best ones. If anyone is like me and always can't settle for just one listen/viewing of "Lie" then here you go. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUz2G5riT3syurvUpBqOlygDWNBXjqQio

I completely agree with you, this is exactly why I watch J&J. I have randomly watched a few other reactors, but none of them have grabbed me enough to make me subscribe and definitely this is the only Patreon I've joined. It's so fun to experience with someone else the deep dive into what their intentions are with their music and even more fun to watch expository content with you to see you learn even more about how wonderful these guys are.

Sherry A
>>95711719

Yes yes yes. I cannot wait until you guys start diving into the award show performances. They are AMAZING and BTS always turns the awards shows into their personal concerts, but they are always so unique and artistic, you will LOVE them.

Sherry A

So Jimin is my bias and I think much of that stems from the fact that his dancing mesmerizes me because I took dancing all through school and I love dancing. It's really HARD for me to watch anyone else, although I try really hard because I know they are all really great. This is why multiple viewings are so important. But LIE is just on a scale of its own making. Lie is one song I have watched a few other reactions from a long time ago when I just needed to watch every single thing I could find on the song. I remember one singers reaction discussing the talent it took for Jimin to sing while he was being held in that position in the air. I also firmly agree with you guys about the uniqueness of this songs music. Like it really grabs you and won't let go. The Jazz reactor you watched was very interesting in how he described the music, I really enjoyed that. There was a lot of that I did not know as I'm not a musician. I think I may agree with the other Patron member and say, this is hands down THE BEST SONG EVER. And that says a lot because I absolutely LOVE Serendipity too. There is quite a bit more to learn about "Lie" and I'm sure you will as you go through this journey. I don't know if anyone else said this, but as you know one of the great things about BTS music is that it has a way of appealing to everyone in some way and sometimes in different ways and the same is true for BTS themselves. So, for the BTS Universe, "Lie" has one story and as others have said, just wait til you get into that - MIND BLOWING WILL HAPPEN. But for Jimin himself as he wrote the lyrics, I'm not sure where exactly I heard this discussed, but I know you were asking what the lie was and for Jimin personally, the lie was lies he told himself about who he needed to be, who he was, and the criticism he had for himself. So the lies were internal for Jimin. If I remember correctly, he said it was actually a hard song for him to perform because it was so personal, especially before he probably worked through those feelings. I imagine that there was also a certain catharsis that occurred and probably pushed him into working on those inner voices, much like I feel for Yoongi and his D-Day tour, and how the rapline must have felt singing Outro: Tear every night on tour. Well moving along, it's October - ugh 8 more months of content to catch up on. I love it, but wow why does one need to sleep? Hehehe

Bery

OMG my fav. song

Anja⁷

Thanks for your reaction to Serendipity! Loved it. And now watching LIE. 💜

Kitty Tomaszewicz

Hello 😁 Coming here straight from Serendipity reaction - ready to go for the Lie 😁

Lie is hauntingly beautiful, the strings are so unique and the performance is just magical 💜

dyxqdthyfv

I really hope you guys react to filter as well You gonna love that song!!!!

Andredayyy

He dances blind folded with Hobi in one of the award show performances just sayinggg

Yara

Everytime I hear Lie, my mind goes to RM doing the coreo bouncing 🤣🤣🤣

Lucia Rocamora

Like I was SO surprised at the end of the serendepity video, that not only we were getting one of the best songs ever, BUT TWO??!!! Thank you so much guys. Also if im not missunderstood, the lie that jimin talks about is that he had to fake his masculiniy in their debut years, because they were like doing a hip hop theme and I supose hip hop mans were supose to be masculine (I dont really know why but it was or is like this) so the lie that he is fighting is his feminity being hidden because "a man" can not be femenine. (This is total bullshit, wear makeup if you please, try new hairstyles, new clothes that might not be for your gender, but clothes dont have gender so you can try a skirt if you like, paint your nails and be free!!!)

bee

Oh I can't wait till you guys see the performance that him and Hobi did together where he was blindfolded and DID NOT MISS A SINGLE BEAT. not a single step but a single beat. Idk how he does what he does but he isn't one of the (best) most versatile dancers in Kpop for nothing.

LizP⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷

If this shook you, Filter will make your hips dance like they dont lie and House of Cards by the vocal line will knock you off your feets!!!!🤣🤣

Kitty Tomaszewicz

🎤Caught in a lieeeeee ~ 🎶 You sing it, Jared! You got it, boy! 😁🔥💜🫰

Jenna B.
>>93543879

oh i CANNOT wait for them to hear that song. especially the live performance!!

Selina T

Seriously tho, the whole wings album is immaculate. One of their best albums for sure. Really intelligent and artistic. All the solos are superb. For me, Lie and Stigma are top notch musically, vocally! You’re in for a treat!!

dyxqdthyfv

Please please react to filter as welllll

btSunina

jimin is just AHHH😭 anyways i‘m sure my fellow armys already commented the same exact thing, but jimin and hobi have a performance blindfolded!! and thank you💜💜💜

Blue Sky

You guys I’ve been waiting for this reaction for so long! Lie is one of my top 5 BTS songs ever! Pleaseeee you need to react to BTS MAMA 2016 full live performance! I think you will LOVE IT!!!

Kiki

The song is actually written to himself. In the past Jimin always had problems with being very strict to himself. He always thought he is not good enough and had many regrets after his performances. I think the Lies he is refering to and wants to escape from are the Lies his brain tells him after a performance: - You can‘t sing - You made mistakes - You are not good enough There is a video of him crying because he had s voice crack on stage. Now he knows that this were all lies because he IS good enough. 💜 It made me so happy seeing you both fall in love with Jimin‘s Solo‘s. Thank you so much

Jenna B.

So. The 'lie' Jimin is referring to is the overly-masculine front he put on during their debut years. He felt trapped in presenting himself in a certain way, hiding who he really wants to be. During the hyyh & wing eras, he fully embraced himself and felt comfortable to show how he really wants to be. I am SO fucking proud of him.

ava

You guys have a very bad influence on my european bedtime but I forgive you because “you nice keep going!” 💜

Beckyboo⁷

I love this song it a masterpiece. I don't think Jimin has said much about creating the song. RM talked about it on his Wings vlive: "Jimin himself wrote the lyrics based on his own past. He used to blame himself for his shortcomings and occupied himself with thoughts like “I’m not good enough. I’m bad.” Clearly he is not in that place these days, the man is glowing 💜

Jenna B.

referring to my previous comment: here's a clip of Jimin speaking about his past self and his journey of self-acceptance. the quality isn't the greatest because it was taken from one of their documentaries but i think you'll appreciate the sentiment. https://youtu.be/tntZw-xPYos (edit: there is also a clip from one of their Festa dinners and him speaking during concerts about his self-acceptance in this video)

Katherine Cordero

Lie is definitely my favorite solo song under BTS, First Love and Reflection are my other favorites. Wings album is a MASTERPIECE.

Ellie

Jimin's Lie really is something special. As you can see from the bangtan bomb, just the choreo alone is very draining. You'll learn more about this in their first docu-series "Burn the Stage" that jimin was very scared and doubted his ability to successfully perfom this live because of how difficult it is to sing & dance to this particular song at the same time. They even had to bring down the song like 1/2 an octave (if I remember correctly) because he couldn't hit all the high notes while performing both the vocals and choreo live. Many other idols & trainees have tried to do (dance) covers of Lie and they struggle greatly as well. Vocal covers are even more rare because the high notes. A full vocal/dance cover is basically impossible 😅

Bery

its the song that I understand it before I knew the words.. I felt every word when I saw his dance, the features of his face and the tone of his voice..I still remember first time I heard this song.. The song crossed my soul.

katarmy

this song is so good thank you for the reaction, when you talked about watching people react to bts music i just remembered a funny video titled ''jimin making guys question their sexuality'', it's just a compilation video of guys reacting to jimin at least i thought it was fun😂💜💜

Almost 1 am for you too ? 😅 it's always midnight for me when they post on patreon.

Shirin J

It is absolutely heartbreakingly beautiful I feel extremely lucky I got to witness it live, it was so overwhelming I had to leave my seat to take a breather and recoup fr 😭

Vrishti Chetty

Your reaction was amazing. I even learnt more about Lie and I've known this song for years already :0 Jimin really is an angel living in modern times. Everything about him is so beautiful. From his personality to his looks to the way he presents himself. I am personally a Yoongi bias, however I am an OT7 and you guys will soon ask yourselves if the bias you chose was even right because it took me years before I actually figured that out so good luck <3 As usual thanks for the awesome reaction. When I tell you I put down everything when I saw the notification to Serendipity, I put down EVERYTHING and watched for 2 hours straight.I hope you react more to his personality, you'll fall in love and definitely get affected by the Jimin Effect. You can't escape it. Borahae <3

Angie7

There’s also a clip and I’m not good at the dropping the link thing, but Jimin is doin this performance and Jin, RM and Hobi are watching from the dressing room because he also goes into a dance off with another Kpop idol Taejin? And they are just so amazed by him anyway there are 2 versions of this one showing Jimin collapsing right as he gets off stage but I wanted warn you just in case you look it up.

Amanda Vicente

I love lie so much ! This whole album from BTS is just masterpiece! Can’t wait for you to dive in more!

Tharikha Lakshmi
>>93544001

So completely agree. For me its Lie and Stigma as well…. But also First Love. Complete masterpieces.

Kaz

OMG Lie too!? 😭😭 This is a Jimin-only song and performance, crafted solely for Jimin. I saw people from other bands try to replicate and it ended horribly oops. (My favorite is still Promise though, that song just does things to me) Also don't mind the 'titles' he has too much, we literally use them for all the members XD I'm sometimes wary because solos love over using these for their favs and I don't like the 'main character' thing some ppl do with the members, BTS as a whole are THE main characters 😬

MM

In the “WINGS behind story”, RM explained that Jimin used to blame himself for all the failures and shortcomings, having thoughts like “I’m not good enough, I can’t do this” and that Jimin wrote the song reflecting that mentality. I always thought the LIE are these negative thoughts. But then, only he really knows the whole meaning behind the lyrics.

Anja⁷

1 o' clock in the morning! How can I now go sleeping after this! 💜 Thank you J-Birds for this reaction xxl! Next song FILTER pleeeaaaassseee! Good night ARMY!

Valencia Begay

https://youtu.be/VNlh2dFQBE4 This is a great reaction and explaining the song. Jimin used to thing he was not good enough - he couldn’t sing well enough and was told he was always slow in keeping the beat in dancing the choreo. He spent hours in the studio and it was Jin who helped him out. From my understanding it was the lie he believed about himself and finally breaking through and was able to have a more balanced view of what he could do - released he has only improved with his self confidence and encouragement.

Glaseon_711

Mom, I'm on TV! "Lie" always speeds up my heartbeat and steals my breath... I have so many things in my head... I promise that in the morning I will finish this review and express everything I need! This song really holds a special place in the heart of everyone who hears it... Jared and Jordan, I hope you will wait for me in direct (I want to share a lot with you). And remember, if you're JimIN, you'll never be JimOUT. Continuation⬇️ I listened to the musician's opinion about "Lie" and on my own I want to add that the entire album WINGS. It is directly connected with the universe and the inner world of the characters (lyrics) and their lives (mini-films). I am glad to see your sincere reaction! Immediately filled with strength and impressions. My friend when listening to "First Love" Suga said that his voice is like audio porn...🤣🤣🤣 I don’t know how you will fit into the plot, but my advice is to take a large notebook... The universe is so symbolically confusing that I would recommend watching everything in order and quickly (because the slightest detail shown in the clips plays its role in the plot). In addition to the clips, there are many other things without which the puzzle does not add up... But I think you will see them already in the full video with the plot explanation (none of which is not confirmed by the guys or the company). There are also double interpretations of everything that happens... There is one girl whose theory I like, but I don’t know if there are subtitles...🤔 Oh, I would like reactions to reactions)

teresa

Guys! Great reaction again. About the lie and what the song goes about. you need to know that behind the heavenly smile and all the happy and lovely Jimin is, there is something darkest. Jimin is one of the most hated if not the most for bts haters. Besides he fought with a dark era during a long time at the beggining, because he thought he wasn't good enought, he didn't eat many days just to lose weigh (JK even had a big fight with him for this), also he thought his voice wasn't enough good. He is sooooo perfectionist, but this sometimes is good, but also bad when you let that obssesion for perfecctionism drowns you dawn and everything is dark. Lie talk about this feelings, because his worst moment was in that time. Jimin has two faces, the lovely one and we all love him for it, but also a complicated person, because he has a complicated soul and never shows everything, for me it's like an iceberg, you just see a beautiful and amazing part, but under that there is a whole and big part we don't see and maybe not that happy and beautiful as the top he let us see. I think he is the more complex of the bts members.

Katina Ixchel

Hey guys! I am beyond ecstatic sitting here watching your intriguing, extensive reactions to Jimin’s RAW ARTISTIC CREATIONS. Three years ago my youngest daughter (now a teen) introduced me to BTS. I immediately gravitated to this sweet angel. At that time I was nearly drowning in a sea of emotional despair. Jimin was that shining star for me. I’m eternally grateful for all that he is and has given to so many of us ARMY. You guys have truly made my month of October. Oh yeah……you haven’t TRULY heard this song until you’ve played it in your car. The bass goes so damn hard!!! I promise you. Much love to you both. Stay healthy and happy xx 💜💜

April Forgue

Lie is my favorite jimin solo.. the clip of the boys watching jimin perform it too was great. Jhope especially was loving it you could see it just watching his expression.

sickdamour

i looooved watching your reactions to serendipity and lie i was sitting there h1gh and hyping up everything u said!!!

Cheryl ⁷ Lambert

This was a masterful breakdown of an amazing song. The “Lie” is as it stated in the beginning of the lyrics. Jimin was in a bad place in his life, blinded (the blindfold) by the lies he told himself, that he wasn’t good enough, he was bad, a lot of self doubt and even body image problems with chronic dieting thinking he was overweight. He’s come so far from his insecurities that I’ve read that he doesn’t like performing the song because it brings him back to this dark place in his life. The musical analysis is fantastic in highlighting that it’s not hopeful, he’s drowning in the lies he tells himself that he can’t break free from. Great job as usual. I came over after watching Serendipity which was magical as always. BTS creates art in every MV and live performance. Every note, movement, hand gesture etc adds to each and every song. Nothing is ever what you think it will be on the surface. Always expect the unexpected. Jimtober is proving to be a blast. Now get your MJ vibes ready for Filter. You’re not readyyyyyy!! Thanks guys 🤗🙏💜💜🇨🇦🫠

Jen

Hi Jared and Jordan! First of all, thank you for spoiling us with 2 Jimin videos today. I truly appreciate your kind hearts. I am always amused by how you react and dissect all details of every song you react to and I am glad you liked LIE. There was a question while you were reacting as to what was the “lie”? Here is a video from one of the DVDs of their concert when Jimin gave his younger self a message. It’s less than a minute video that you can listen to offline to get more context to LIE. https://youtu.be/z3lg_ZGHmok Just like everybody else is saying, Jimin was so hard on himself way back. He thinks he’s not enough. But he has accepted himself now. Just like what he said in the short clip, he doesn’t have to pretend now. He has accepted and love himself and I am so proud of him. It wasn’t an easy journey to overcome insecurity and he got through it. He now promotes self love as he knows how dark it is to be on the other side. I hope this helps. Much love and more power to you twins! Borahae! 💜

Yeritza

Oh, just wait until you watch Hobi and Jimin dancing blindfolded completely in sync for their Boy Meets Evil performance in MAMA 2016 in Hong Kong!! A complete jaw-dropping masterpiece!

Kiki

omg this is my third comment under this video but I can‘t stop: I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this reaction so much. - loved that you watched these tiny video snippets here and there - loved that you reacted to reactors (welcome in our shoes :D) - loved your little arguing over your jokes - loved that you feel more and more comfortable to show us your vocal skills 😁 - loved how passionate you talked about the emotions of the song and what Jimin wanted to project through his music - loved to see how Jared fell for Jimin through Serendipity and Jordan fell for him through Lie THANK YOU GUYS💜💜💜 oh yes and talking about dancing blind folded. Look at this performance from Hobi and Jimin: https://youtu.be/Q_hQjxGSS7k You are NOT ready! (edit: Warning! After Jimin pulls down his blindfold they perform Blood, Sweat & Tears.)

SilvrArmy

Lie is just so hauntingly beautiful and tragic at the same time. From RM’s explanation of the lyrics, and how hard we’ve seen Jimin be on himself - my takeaway was the lie is the lies he tells himself about himself which kept him in a negative mindset for so long. So glad you also took the time to view the musical structure breakdown (Andrew Berg is very passionate and great at explaining all this!). BTS is so deep with their lyrics, music and performances but this just adds one more amazing layer of epicness (😁) to the mix!! This is one of my very favorites but the whole Wings album is one huge chef’s kiss! Thank you both!! Borahae 💜💜💜

badbye

guys thank you so much for these two amazing reactions! once again i love how much of a deep dive you guys take into their music. as a music nerd i love talking about and listening to others talk about the details and the hidden meanings behind every thing. as to the meaning of "lie", as doolset's note stated at the beginning of the translation of the lyrics, jimin wrote lie about his anxiety lying to him abou not being good enough and the praise he's receiving being undeserved. his perfectionism lying to him that he has to be and do better to be worthy of all the love he receives from his fans. it's basically about imposter syndrome that he was struggling with a couple of year ago. he has stated multiple times that struggles with these thoughts way less now and has grown from it. side note; am i the only one who's not a big fan of stage mixes as a first time reaction to a performance? idk i feel like for example the performance with the blindfold would be way more impressive if seen as a whole. i feel like stage mixes sometimes take away from the quality and integrality of a performance.

Alix Drifty

Loved watching you witness the epicness of Lie! It really is a masterpiece. Others have mentioned it, but the way I always interpreted the "lie" based on everything RM and Jimin have said over the years, is that the Lie Jimin was trapped in was, was the lie that he had to be behave in a certain way and perform perfectly - "don't be like a prey, (be) smooth like a snake" = "don't be weak, be perfect, confident and strong" Jimin used to struggle both with negative thought spirals ("I'm not good enough") and also the pressure to have some sort of "manly" image, both as a male teenager and as a member of a hip-hop-based group. Jimin tried to put on a performance of what people wanted for years, but living a lie is unsustainable. Thankfully, Jimin has a high emotional intelligence and came to realize that he couldn't continue that way - I fully believe that he wrote and performed Lie as a way to say goodbye to that old way of pretending and to begin the process of accepting his true self fully and to stop hiding the fact that he's human (imperfect) and also has a very loving and gentle soul that doesn't necessarily fit the hypermasculinity that the world tries to push onto young men.

Salena G

I suggest Jordan and Jared watch it again KNOWING Jimin is SINGING LIVE WHILE DANCING sounding PERFECT. The way his voice stays so stable and soft on the softer sections while spinning, jumping, bouncing and being lifted and spun. There are no words to explain Jimin only phases such as not from this world and once in a generation or life time. To have so much exceptional talent in one person. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 💜💜

I feel the same about stage mixes. They show the amazing consistency but can take you out of the moment a bit with all the changes.

leat

that´s exactly what it was an experience. Jimin never felt like himself in his body. he was different from other people. and he is not good at sharing what is going on inside him. so that was drew him to the contemporary dance. he liked the fact that he can show how he feels instead of telling it. and he forget all around him and just live in the music and his movements. he also never miss a beat it´s like clockwork. and being a dancer myself i can see how it effects him. i have the same feeling. i was immerged into the melody of the song. i did not see the people looking at me witch i normally hate. jimin is do relatable to me that´s why he is my bias. he has always had a softer side and Busan is know for having these tuff and cool guys and all Jimin wanted was to fit in but he was to feminine and cute. he played on his cuteness to gain friends i think but it was also a part of who he is. i think Jimin still feels trapped witch he often talk about without reviling the reason. he just said he felt lonely and his friends made him realize that he has 3 good friends outside of BTS and he also have his members and family so why would he still feel lonely? i think he wants a relationship but it´s hard for him to meet someone. and even harder when everyone want to know everything about you. and he is a shy person but he can befriend people easy because he is kind but when it comes to him opening up he is to shy. a girlfriend would be good for him, someone he can talk to about his feelings someone who wont judge you. i truly hope he finds someone all i want is for him and the rest of the members to be happy.

Susan Grayson

Many of the people that Andrew berg referenced were from a YouTube channel called Classical Musicians React. They do a really good job of breaking songs down. They LOVED Lie.

Mady Hunt⁷

Not sure what Armys are telling you, but Jimin is NOT lying about anything personal 😔 There is sooo much you're missing regarding the concept in which this song is framed!!! Please do yourselves a favor and watch this to see how LIE is one part of seven CONNECTED stories. https://youtu.be/4Xs-WyzB_zg

Definitely agree, from his debut JIMIN was always anxious and talks about how even though he was a trained contemporary dancer, his dance skills were lacking for an idol (re: to... "BTS, Burn The Stage." Hence why he would practice dancing every night until 4am only to wake at 6am to repeat his daily schedule. Even JK says that Jimin was a hardworker, both V and Jimin mentioned he almost got cut from debuting with BTS 8 times. Jimin also had a smaller idol trainee window to make the final cut for BTS's final group. Jimin was known for being a perfectionist and for being extremely hard on himself. If he couldn't hit a note, or get his stage quality/performance exactly right or make the slightest mistake he would feel excessively bad, extremely guilty, and overly critical about himself and be weighted down by/with the negative emotions he would "drown in." RM stated (he helped Jimin write "Lie") that Jimin would blame himself for anything and everything that would go wrong, even when it wasn't his fault. RM suggested that those were Jimin's "Lies."

leat
>>93543658

people have said he has a good ear for melodies and rhythm and i can feel it i have the same as him i am just not that good at dancing but i can always move to the beat popping my head and shoulders to me it´s second nature. but for Jin and RM it´s the total opposite.

Chris Augustine

This song has multiple meanings actually, The 1st meaning of lie is based on Jimin's insecurities about himself. He can't escape feeling like he is not good enough and admits to getting swallowed up by the lies he feeds himself. He once said he didn't eat for 10 days because he was so insecure about his weight. It is an inner battle between his 2 sides his real self and insecure self and his insecure self is always feeding him the lie but he can't escape it. Also, you have to look at this song in the larger picture of the Wings Album which is based on the book Demian by Hermann Hesse and the teachings of the philosopher Nietzsche. The Wings Album gave each member a solo song to express their individual stories and I believe Lie for Jimin expresses his struggle with his life as a KPOP idol. Wings is a full concept album and the book is key to understanding the Album. The book is a coming of age story about the journey to find your true self and leaving the innocence of childhood behind, facing temptation and embracing both the light and the dark, good and evil. The song Blood Sweat and Tears is the centerpiece of the Album and it is also a masterpiece. Honestly, the whole album is.

Hi Jared and Jordan, if you are so fascinated by Jimin's blindfolded dance, then please watch Jimin's and J-Hopes Dance to Boy meets Evil/Lie at the 2016 MAMAs (MNet Asian Music Awards, a very important Asian Award Show) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTVny1Z0CQg I promise you, you will gonna be blown away. Both danced synchronized (Jimin blindfolded) in such high quality - woah.... I can't wait until you watch their award show performances - these are HUUUGE and will leave you speachless - I swear 🤞. BORAHAE! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Thank you for this amazing reaction🥹 when you mentioned reacting to other reactors, the first person I thought was Jordan Orme. He reacts from a music editors perspective and points out so many hidden meanings that I never picked up which made me appreciate the song so much more. I think you’d enjoy his reactions as it’s more informative!! Looking forward to more reactions from the both of you🫶🏼🫶🏼

Ms Redsoil

amazing, genuine, sincere reaction full of "duande" as always!!

Viral MajicJ

Thank y’all sm for this amazing reaction! Broke my leg running here to watch this. I’m kinda still mad people voted serendipity over filter but it’s fine. I knew lie was gon get y’all. Bless you

Eli Min

Oh you should check out Jimin's Lie + Hobi's Boy Meets Evil live performance, both blindfolded but completely dancing in sync! It will end you. LOL ORRR just watch the full MAMA Awards performance as a whole. :D Thanks for the drop as always, Jared and Jordan! :)

lou marquez

loved the reaction, as always! in my opinion it'd be better if you didn't watch stage mixes at first, because you cannot fully experience the performance, as it is always changing

Yes! The way that Lie/Jimin and Boy Meeting Evil/J-Hope are juxtaposed with one another during that performance (paired with the blindfold and in sync dancing) is incredible!

Aparna

He IS art.

I just joined patreon for the first time with you guys, simply for Jimtober and this reaction has made me glad I did. I don't regret it one bit after watching this. Lie is a terrific song and Jimin the absolute epitome of perfection in his performance. Your reaction with all the different videos is one of the best reactions I've ever seen, IF not THE best! Thank you for making Jimin's birthday such a treat! Loved your insight and Andrew Berg is excellent with his explanations. The snippet of the classical musicians (in his video) reacting was very short and I do recommend you watch that too. Another is professional dancers explaining how Jimin moves with bone crushing force in his dances, his explosive power and speed of movement is incredible. It really helps to watch the professionals reacting not just to Jimin but the BTS members and getting a full insight to the amazing talent and skill they display (agree it would be a great idea to react to them too). It's really breath-taking and makes me appreciate their music and ART sooo very much. Thank you again for an awesome reaction! I won't miss that kidney now!!😂😂😂

Laurie Brennan⁷

Lie is a beautiful song. I don't think Jimin is talking about being caught in a lie with another person. To me the lie is his inner voice telling him he's not good enough. He knows it's a lie, but he can't stop the negative self talk and he spirals deeper and deeper into the abyss. His brain is telling him constant lies. When he says "please find me that was innocent"....I think he is talking about childhood...when most of us are bursting with confidence until the negative self talk and opinions of others start to affect us. Jimin has struggled in the past with low self esteem and body dysmorphia issues. Jimin has said that Jin has helped him in the past with his mindset. I remember Jin in a livestream encouraging ARMY to talk themselves up and give themselves compliments as a first step to "self love". Maybe Jin taught Jimin how to reset that inner voice? Oh Andrew Berg...he gives such great musical theory breakdowns. I love watching all types of reactors and always look at every BTS song from different reaction points of views. I will watch videos pertaining to musical theory, choreography, music producers, video producers etc and get so many different perspectives. Now I know exactly why the word "lie" in the chorus gives me chills every single time. My one word would be "tortured". Trust me when I tell you that ARMY have been saying "Screw the Grammys" for a long, long time now. Thanks for another great reaction.

Bwana

MAMA 2016 (Hong Kong) you two were impressed with the blindfold he wore, wait till you see this. It's the intro to their performance that night and Jimin and Jhope shared the stage for about 2-3 min doing a small part of their choreography for their singles from this album. It's iconic! There were so many haters accusing him of wearing a blindfold he could see through. That was until ARMY pointed out that he's literally lead onto the stage by Hobi first, then Hobi crosses the stage to his position. Idk what videos can and can't be shown on YouTube but I will send a FM video from the performance just to guide you in the right direction but like I said, not sure about YouTube guidelines. Regardless, I'm sure if great footage of this moment is out there and can be shown there is an ARMY that can guide you to it. I just didn't want Jimtober to pass without you knowing about this iconic stage in ARMY history. Thanks for sharing this Jimtober with us. BANGTAN Hard🙌🏽💜. https://youtu.be/oc0sC4V_Cuw

Ylda Rodarte

I can't wait for you to react to Jimin and JHope dancing together while Jimin is blindfolded. It's during a MAMA award show in 2016 to Boy meets evil.

justjhen

I really love your reaction guys😍 Jimins' amazing work of ART is so amazing😭💜 Im always in tears whenever I listen to this song. Coz I can feel his pain from his past😭 I can relate to this music, I used to wear a fake smile in a day like a jolly person. A mask covering my sadness😔. I hope our mochi really got back his back his Smile. He deserve all the happiness💜💜💜

J&j BY FAR YOUR BEST REACTION 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 no one is reacting to other reactors ... you might be on to something... Andrew Berg is one of a handful I follow .. be picky with em .. so much mediocre out there in this 🌎 of reactions... YOU TWO ARE THE EXCEPTION 🌌🖤🟪🟣💫 ...thank you for My two fav Jimin songs ... 💜💜

Maya001

Wow what an experience! To join u guys in the one word game, the word that always comes to mind when listening to Lie and any song in Wings album is Eargasm. I can’t really explain it but it’s the feeling that gives me shivers and I have to listen to it with my eyes closed. The first time I heard the wings album I was In tears. it’s hit after hit without a break! Stigma and boy meets evil all give me that similar spooky feeling with the beat. -About reacting to reactors I think it’s a great idea it’ll be hilarious. Though it’s probably best to get suggestions from Army of who to react to lol. I also have a idea. BTS do react to their title tracks so maybe reacting to BTS react to BTS’s MV will be cool. Hahaha - About Lie, I think it may be referring to his Imposters syndrome. Jimin has mentioned it multiple times in the past. I think he is past that stage in his life and i hope so. He deserves everything good that comes his way. Success and love- everything. I think it’s ironic when Jordan said he needs forgiveness but what if he has to forgive himself? If he is unable to forgive himself how will he ever get out. Maybe that’s why at the end he felt defeated. Idk anyway thanks so much for the video! It was a nice surprise getting double vids 💜💜💜 -I have to say tho I can’t wait until u get to Louder than Bombs. It’s in the MOTS7 album and it gives me wings vibes for some reason. My fav song on that album even tho it’s a tough choice!

Cassie Fenstemaker

I was going through a very personal struggle with myself when I found this song. I was in my last year of college, my family was becoming more estranged than they already were, and my job was breaking my camel’s back for the final time. I felt alone in a crowd of loved ones, aching without a sound to life. Then, Lie creeped in. It breathed a mood into the silence. A prickle of something. The truth of my situation. (Ironic, right?) Lie will always allow me the freedom of movement and expression. When I couldn’t get out of my struggle of life, I felt understood with the lyrics and dancing the routine. Even though that sad phase in my life is history, I can’t forget that song, my favorite song ever. Through the hurt and the healing that could be had through this song, it will forever have a good place in my heart.

Christina

My favourite BTS reactors reacting to other BTS reactions??? Yes please!!! That could be very fun 😂 There are some pretty entertaining compilation videos out there for reactions to BTS songs, one being a compilation of reactors watching Filter...thirst trap indeed! Thank you for gifting us with not one, but TWO great songs today! Much love from Canada 💜

Tiana

LIE...Masterpiece. Also, Inception Reactions is Genius 💜 ...yes please!

bee

I really hope you guys react to a video about his personality or just him being himself haha. like: "“Jimin knows that he’s cute” | how Jimin gets away with things bcs he's cute" OR "BTS JIMIN being himself :)" OR "BTS not letting Jimin breathe in peace 😭" OR "BTS is totally whipped for jimin"

Tiffany Helton

Jordan's face at the end of watching the live performance had me dying 🤣🤣🤣 cause I felt that lol. I would have to say all the guys solos on their Wings album has to be my all time favorite solos. Honestly all of them are masterpieces

Sonia

Been watching your videos since your very first BTS reaction and even rematched some because you guys are so amazing! Love following along on your journey of discovering BTS and love both your personalities that make your videos so enjoyable. Funny how you guys talked about watching others’ reaction videos because my 2 kids and I laugh so hard at you guys sometimes (in a good way) that we even said it would be hilarious to record us reacting to you!

Tiana

WHAT! Lie-cream-Sundae is hilarious! 😂💜

Veronica⁷

Wow! 😮 Speechless. Loved your reaction. I'd love to watch you guys reacting to other reactions. I'm here for whatever you guys decide to do. Thank guys! 💜💜

Jules LeAnn

Lie is from the Wings album and all ARMYs know what a MASTERPIECE that whole album truly is. Honestly- if you're able to, I'd recommend listening to the whole album in order? Its all apart of the BU but when you get there, listening in order just makes it all so unbelievably cosmic. Its an experience that I wish I could have for the first time again.

bee

I think the lie is about what his thoughts were telling him. Like no matter well you think he did, he himself thinks otherwise because its about every single detail. (and I would say most of the members specially Jimin and Jungkook during performances/concerts often give what seems like to us 150% but to them only 30% or even less). Jimin was also dealing with himself and how he truly felt vs how he had to make himself look a certain way or act a certain way to seem more "manly"(because of them being a hiphop based group in the beginning and the stereotype that often comes with hiphop). Actually in one clip (I believe it was in a bon voyage episode) Jungkook and Jimin took a selfie and Jimin asked to see how it came out but Jungkook, Taehyung, and Jhope were saying that "men don't check their selfies" and "mean shouldn't do that" and etc.. and Jimin said: "here you go again, what the heck is "men"?". I really feel that Jimin is a big reason why there isn't sm toxic masculinity in bts (or just even in Kpop). Because he isn't afraid to say and do what he wants. I'm so glad he finally accepted who he was and was no longer forcing to be something he's not.

Daniela

We appreciate your in depth reactions so much, truly couldn’t agree more this is such a masterful and epic piece of art. ✨ Jimin and JHope also performed blind folded during 2016 MAMA if you want to check it out, their dance is so extraordinary

Mel

I guess you guys have figured it out. 😁💜💜 EVERYTHING BTS does is intentional. There is nothing for chance. I realized this with Blood Sweat and tears and HAD to be a patron for their art. I HAD to give them money. I never paid for a fandom until BTS and I'm over 40. I do believe that's what we older ATMY love about this group. Intelligence in ART.

Meli613

I honestly can’t wait for u to react to the entire Wings album! Wings is a literal MASTERPIECE! The album is filed with their most raw emotions. Also let’s not forget how they sent this album for Grammy consideration and it went from someone’s desk to the trash without giving it a second thought! I really hope u can react to the entire album when ever u start to dive deeper in the wings era! One of my favorite Bangtan albums!! Every song from Boy Meets Evil to interlude: wings is a MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!!! I can’t stress this enough!!

Cianni

I feel like a better word for this song is Haunting

Members of QHC

Lie really reminds me of how I feel playing Shadow of the Colossus and I love it so much lol I hope im not the only one seeing you say “dancing blindfolded” and being amazed but thinking of the time he ACTUALLY danced blindfolded. This was just him briefly moving surrounded by others. The time he dances “alone”- it’s insane! Hecc, this reminds me of how much Stigma is similar- kind of. I’m going to froth at the mouth when y’all get there lmfao

tara

totally off topic but you know what, I thank the stars for recommending your video about reacting to black swan on my YouTube homepage. Super happy to witness your journey of discovering Jimin and BTS. You guys are killing it, keep it up! :))

ada

Lie is truly special. As years go by it's more meaningful and you appreciate it more and more. I was intrigued when I learned from Classical musicians disect this music and lyrics. This ranks high on my list of Jimin's performances. His dancing reflects the angst he conveys in this song. It's genius, a masterpiece. I think only Jimin can perform this. I've read rookie idols cover this but do the dance and song separately. The passion & complexity of Jimin singing and dancing this song is a masterpiece in my opinion. Thank you always for the in depth review. 💜

SkyWatcher

A great reaction as usual, and if you're not finished with Jimin yet, even though it's a collaboration, I hope you will react to With You, there is no choreography, but hearing Jimin and Ha Sungwoon's angelic voices is worth it, the song broke a lot of records in iTunes etc. 💜

Kia

Lie is indeed a masterpiece. Honestly, I would love to hear it on a movie soundtrack one day. I definitely think it would be amazing for the right story and scene timing as a highlight for storytelling because of how cinematic it already is and sounds. It would be beautiful in an eerie way, of course, again, with the right story and scene timing.

Cherry Valens

No matter how many times I listen to Jimin, his songs never get old! It’s like hearing them for the first time each time and I love more than anything watching someone react to Jimin performing and hearing his voice for the first time! Amazing reaction and OMG I love the idea of you watching reactions to what you just reacted to! Another amazing reaction, love you guys so much! Borahae! 💜💜💜

Ana Yunuen Lau

My dad is a musician and this is his favorite BTS song, the first time he heard it asked me "who is that?"... let me tell you, his face when i said BTS for me is priceless. Everytime he plays it in the car (because he has it in his playlist) he is genuinely inmersed in the song, and always says: This is the best song a boyband/boygroup member has ever done... and the Harry Styles song ( LOVES Sign of the times).

Da Lantis

If you watch other peoples reactions, then I highly suggest "Shiki". I have never seen anyone - aside from you guys - who enjoys and truly appreciates the performances, the music, and the boys as much as he does.

Right!! Whoever or however they were drawn to make a reaction video I thank the heavens for them too. I'm so happy they dove in the hole amd now share their journey with us. It's a beautiful thing to witness.

Sherry Xiong

Wow!!! Can I just say how much I appreciate you two appreciating BTS!!!!! I should’ve known you guys would do a super deep dive into LIE and I’m glad I was here for the ride!!!! As for your Inception Reaction idea…I love it!! Along side Andrew Berg, if you get to it, other crews/content creators who genuinely love BTS and react to them are WhatchaGot2Say (they have dancing backgrounds so they love the dance practices but they also love the music so they also try to break down and decipher the lyrics as well) and Mexinese Family. I hope you guys go over to their YT channels and check them out. Thanks again for these reactions ( Serendipity & LIE)🫶🏻🫰🏻 in the words of Jimin “you nice, keep going!!” 😁

Kecia ⁷

As always that was masterful reaction to a masterpiece! You 2 keep leveling up every week! Thank you. It was such a nice surprise to see Andrew Berg in your reaction. I've been following him since his first BTS reaction. I never learned music so I enjoy learning a little bit about it from him. Looking forward to the rest of Jimtober.

Jimin Angel

Thank you guys for your reaction to Jimins lie❤️

Alright...okay...I have been waiting for this reaction for what seemed like forever. One of the best compilations to watch for Jimintober is the friendship between him and V. Jimin recently stated that V is his soul mate in an un romantic way. They have the purest friendships. They are called "Vmin." Now you all see why we get soo excited to see you react to the content we know you'll love. I am all for you reacting to reactors. You both have witnessed the Jimin effect. Once you Jimin you can never Jimout. 💜

Sandy Camillo

I loved the idea of reacting to others reactions. And YES, this music is art, a masterpiece! Thank you guys for this amazing reaction. Can't wait for more 💜

Adi

This song gives you the WHOLE EXPERIENCE! And I had never seen the video that explains the elements of this song. I'm in awe! Probably one of my favorite songs ❤️❤️❤️❤️

shelby🖤

i think this might be my favorite reaction from y’all yet! when i say y’all just get it you really do. i’ve never seen another reactor appreciate BTS’ music like this and especially not solo work. this is one of my favorite songs of all time and i could drone on for hours about it and my interpretation. i was there for the release of this song and it was truly life changing. i love every BTS’ song i’ve ever heard, which is insane bc i’m very picky about my music, but jimin’s solos have always been my favorite in personal preference next to jhope and i’m not jimin biased either. i’m an ot7 bias to my core. i think his solo album, often called pjm1 by army, is my most anticipated of all the albums. we’ve been getting a lot of pics of him in the studio and he’s referenced working on it and i practically start to vibrate from excitement thinking about it. it’s going to be amazing. also, totally off topic. jordan, what tea brand are you drinking?? i love tea and you have me so intrigued now lmao.

Theresa George

A couple thoughts, one: absolutely do the inception reactions! And then two, jimin actually dances blindfolded at another wings performance on a dance break with jhope. It's a medly of boy with evil and lie which are jimin and jhopes songs on the album. And lastly, I am sorry that people compared you guys to each other, cause to me you guys are completely different and compliment each others vibe. To me you even look and sound different, it's hard to explain. But I whish you both the best!

JennY77

"LIE" is a masterpiece on its own. I really appreciate your in depth reaction to Jimin's art and to BTS. Thank you

Jackie

When I was a baby army and knew basically nothing about BTS yet, "Wings" was the newest album they had released. Immediately "LIE" and 'BEGIN" caught my attention. But the whole album is truly golden. The ah woo woo parts are my favorite part!

Sharebear

So happy to see you enjoy Andrew Berg's reaction so much. I have been following him since he started down the BTS rabbit hole and he has so much love for the group, but also is so knowledgeable about music theory and playing instruments, so it is makes for a great perspective. This is like a crossover episode of my two favorite reaction channels!😂💜

Julie Kühnell

I love this song so much. At some point you should also check out Promise. It acts as a MUCH lighter sequel, where he finally accepts himself as he is and promises to never put himself down like this again.

Julie Kühnell
>>93562506

I love that MAMA 2016 into with J-Hope. I've watched it so many times and it still gives me the chills. They are just so incredibly talented.

Julie Kühnell
>>93565814

Also the MAMA 2016 intro with J-Hope is a much watch. It's mindblowing. He is blindfolded though the entire thing and still manages to not only spin several times, but also dance in sync with J-Hope.

PamTan

Watching others react to BTS is always fun, but I really enjoy when musicians explain all that I missed. This video is a great compilation of classical musicians explaining why Lie is a masterpiece. https://youtu.be/vba2H4i_kJU

Jen Roe⁷

Okay I'm actually watching this while in line outside of Jimin's father's cafe Magnate in Busan. It's the day after Jimin's birthday and the day before the Yet To Come concert. I've been in line for hours and I'm surrounded by ARMY. This feels very surreal. Thank you for such an amazing reaction and for making this experience even more unique.

Jen Roe⁷

I'll also say that you should definitely react to other reactors. BUT you should also react to BTS reacting to their stuff too. They do it quite a bit and have done so for most (if not all) their music videos. It's usually very funny and where some memes and inside jokes in ARMY stem from.

Soniia Dot

If you ever get to reacting to more songs from the wings album, you will notice that escaping temptation is a reoccurring theme

avAndres

lost track of how many times they blurted WOOO!! and WOW!!

Susan Grayson

I believe that the lie Jimin is referring to is that he is lying to Armies when he performs as an idol. In his heart he doesn’t think that he is worthy of being an idol and that he is cheating us, the fans. Obviously, this is not the case, but we don’t always feel confident that we are good enough. I think Jimin is now more confident that he is an outstanding performer. Wings was way back in 2016. Filter is very confident LOL. Lie is on the Wings album. This album is almost entirely part of the Bangtan Universe. Wings revolves around the book Damien by Herman Hesse. This album it a masterpiece itself. Blood, Sweat, and Tears is the title track. As psychologists, I think you will really like this album. PS I think BTS should be required listening to all psych majors.

Susan Grayson
>>93566827

Please make sure you are watching BTS reacts to BTS from their YouTube channel. A lot of people make up their own, changing out the songs.

Amelia K ⁷

Your faces after you listened the first time LOL! You share something with Jungkook: when JK eats something that tastes really good, he makes an angry face. You both looked almost angry at how good "Lie" is. He can be your triplet in this. Now that you've heard it, isn't it crazy to think that Jimin can be insecure about his voice? I want to hug him so badly and tell him how incredible he is. I also appreciate you including Andrew Berg's breakdown! I enjoy his reaction channel as well, even if some of the music theory goes over my head! It serves to make me appreciate BTS and their talents even more. Thanks for another great reaction!

Shalia

great reaction guys. Lie is a masterpiece. i can’t believe tomorrow is the Busan concert. it’s so exciting to see BTS together again. 💜

Christina

Hey guys, I know from the song alone it can be quite vague what lie Jimin is talking about. RM spoke about the song in a Vlive about the Wings album, and he summarised it perfectly, how it is Jimin lying to himself and blaming himself for his perceived shortcomings: “Jimin wrote all the lyrics. I didn’t know. It was written so well. Recently Jimin told me this. Jimin said he was really happy recently. He got better and is more relaxed. Before our debut since we were trainees he was quite similar to me. He would always blame himself for his own short-falling. I’m not good, I’m not enough, I’m doing wrong, I’m bad. He said he thought like that all the time. Though I keep running I am trapped in lies, return my smile. Putting oneself in a corner. We talked about that and agreed a lot. Jimin told me this story. He thought about his past self while writing. He was deep in lies in the past. I blamed myself, regardless of the truth. I always thought about my flaws and my mistakes. Even if others didn’t, I would blame myself. He wrote Lie while thinking of that time. He wrote it after hard work, the producer said it was so well written and goes with the song, he said it would be amazing. Even now I can’t imagine if this song wasn’t those lyrics. There is nothing complicated about the lyrics. They are perfect. I think working on the lyrics, Jimin was able to prove himself once more. It was a step forward. That’s what I think.”

Amina

Great reaction ! Really happy that I don’t have to fight you 😭 I knew you guys had taste ! If you ever do paper scissors rock again here is song suggestions:, my personal favorites 134340 Home Love Maze

Edana Ulf

Thank you for spoiling us with both Serendipity and Lie. Thank you for as always for how much you both delve deeply into learning and appreciating the music. I always feel the sincerity. Several comments have explained what the lie is, so I won't go into that. But yes, Lie, without a doubt an absolute masterpiece of all encompassing art.

ButterButtersBetter

This is without a doubt my favourite BTS solo song. When I first came across it I was mesmerised and a bit obsessed! Hobi has said that it is his favourite as welll. I recall seeing footage where Jimin said that he doesn’t really like performing it because it reminds him of dark times in his mind. I hope he reaches a point where he can transcend that and perform this masterpiece without being emotionally hurt by doing so.

Zoi

All I can say is “Welcome to the Bangtan Universe”! I can’t wait until you get into the HYYH era. Rosan (xCelest on YouTube) has an explanation video for the BU. When you’re ready it’s a must. So much goes into the storyline. 💜💜

Kaezie

I'm a baby army, and I have been for a long time. I have heard "Lie" before, but I hadn't thought about its deeper meaning. After watching The Intro to Jimin, it was fresh in my mind that Jimin is careful with his words in order to protect those who's minds get~ caught in a lie. He knows what it's like. In the song, he paints a brief reminiscent picture of the time before when he was innocent of the lies he tells himself about his worth. I think "Lie" is now my new favorite song. Wow

Mel
>>93574938

Ooh Amina pulled out some gems with this list!!🔥🔥 I'm gonna steal your line.... these songs along with Paradise are the best deep cut RnB tracks BTS have. Fight me! 😁

Kristin Zuehl

This was beyond awesome! Lie has always been my favorite song of Jimin’s but between The Intro to Jimin, your reaction and the reaction you watched my mind is blown. I love me some Jimin! 💜

Kaezie

(TW) When Jimin talks about hell, pain, and punishment, I think he is referring to his intrusive thoughts. The negative voice we hear sometimes is an echo of things said to us in the past. Those words can become internalized, and it's no longer some else's words but our own. It's like punishing words "for not being good enough." The pain is self inflicted because it's a near constant drowning of negativity. It's torment~ hell.

Kaezie

I think the first verse may be other people smiling to appear helpful and friendly, but their advice is unwanted and damaging. I was thinking during Jimin's Intro video~ the person who is always a therapist and a support to others rarely had that support themselves. Who is going to save him? For the second verse, I think "You want me" is his innocent, past self(maybe,) and "I've lost my way" is his current self in the song. It's hard to know who you are when you don't like yourself. You change and grow, but the growth- if based from a negative mindset- can be more like an abscess. You have to heal to grow healthily. You have to draw a line between what is actually you and what is not. "An overgrown lie is trying to swallow me whole. My last thoughts about the song and what the musician, Jared, and Jordan said (there is only defeat; there is no hope.) is that yes, negative thoughts will never completely go away. Remember~ BTS is a mindset; the bullets may keep coming, but they have a shield. Anyone with depression, anxiety, and/or anything else will come to realize this at some point in their journey to healing. It doesn't end, but that doesn't mean we can't find a way to defend ourselves. Don't forget shields are weapons too. We can fight back. There is hope.

emmaleeanne

I know a few people have mentioned it, but if you wanna be wowed by the blindfold dancing, just wait til you watch MAMA 2016… but you can’t do that yet cause you need to react to several other songs first… Blood Sweat and Tears (the absolute crown jewel of metaphor, symbolism, cinematography, you name it, it’s the best), Boy Meets Evil (talk about mind blowing dance 🤯) and Fire (which, outside of it being a banger, doesn’t necessarily require an in depth analysis). The BS&T music video is part of the BU, but - and this may be an unpopular opinion, ARMY, let me know - don’t let things being part of the BU make you think you have to do them all in order or that the lyrics are part of the storyline. They can sometimes overlap themes, but the songs stand alone as their own art as well. Some MVs are MUCH more BU heavy, but BS&T is more tangential… kind of conceptually part of the BU, but has an ocean’s worth of depth of its own.

Alicia

This is my favorite BTS song, always move me! Thanks J$J 💜💜💜💜

TuffLikeToph

I could literally give a whole lecture on the vocal storytelling in this song, it's 👌

Jaeyi

If you talk about blindfold, all I can think about was when Jimin did Lie blindfolded in MAMA 2016, that was gorgeous, magnificent, I think the best word is ELEGANCE. He danced and twirled completely blindfolded, I’m shocked he even knew he was facing the stage. I seriously can’t wait till you start the MAMA and MMA performances. It is an understatement to even say that these are the best live stages in the world, no exaggeration and not biased. I haven’t seen stages better than MAMA 2018 and MMA 2019. I have a personal attachment to MAMA 2016, because that was when they got their first Artist Of The Year Daesang. I was watching that live, can you imagine what I felt? It was a big, big deal and you’ll see why in the future rise of bangtan episodes. I remember watching MAMA 2016 live in a hotel because I was visiting Korea at the time. Jhope started performing Boy Meets Evil and just as I was getting immersed, Lie suddenly started playing, and we all collectively lost our shit because it was so unexpected. I had shivers down my spine when I realized he was completely blindfolded

Sally A

are you guys' streaming tomorrow Busan concert.

Jaeyi
>>93593727

Nope, I’m pretty sure they’ll be recording their reaction and posting afterwards because most ARMYs will be watching the live directly on Weverse

Sabine Schubert
>>93548833

Dear Mady, I think it's way to early for Jared & Jordan to start with the storyline. When they reach the songs from "The most beautiful moment in live", then they might dive into the Bangtan Universe. Although this is a very good explanation video.

Biljana Monteleone

Jiminie is one of those few remarkable people that when on stage you can't help but focus on him - I do watch other members too , of course, after several times focusing on each one of them. A truly mesmerizing- these incredible ARTISTS deserve all the accolades and praise and awards and love. Plus the way they act and the messages they send - we need more of that , especially now. Borahae to all attending concert in Busan - stay safe and have the time of your life. Lots of love to all ARMYs watching around the world as I will be . United by our love for Bangtan 7! 🙏🏻💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Dear Jared and Jordon, some more thoughts: 1) As much as I like the idea of inception reaction, I'm afraid a little bit. As there is so much BTS content you have to discover: the discography (and the solo mixtapes), The rise of Bangtan, Run BTS (with more than 150 episodes), Bon Voyage, In the soop - and the upcoming solo albums - this will gonna take you years... So I think it might be dispensible to do the reaction reactions - just my cup of tea ;) 2) I'm so glad to hear that you are gonna celebrate the whole Jimtober, so I would warmly recommend you some more Jimin songs: - "Promise" is a song written by Jimin and published for free on Soundcloud. You can take it as a sequel of Lie, but it is more positive. Jimin again talks to himself and you can see how his mindset changed. This song is very precious to me, it helped me a lot in dark times. Here is a lyric video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFeT8k2WTOQ There is no official MV but you can find nice fanmade videos on YT. And here is one of the rare life footages for this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxnoOqNrkIs - "With you" is a OST for the K-Drama "Our Blues" that Jimin sang with his friend Ha Sungwoon. This is such a beautiful love song, both voices blend so nicely together, it warms your heart: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxnoOqNrkIs - "Friends" is a unit song from the "Map of the Soul 7" album by Jimin and V and its the story of their friendship since predebut. Here is the lyric video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7C0W70FgeWo They performed it live in one of their online concerts, this is so nice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zY21naMApa8 And now, if you are curious about the dumpling incident, then watch this please: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uylFkHW1sY It's so touching and endearing :) - and a wonderful way to learn more about Jimin and V. Now I happily look forward to the Busan Concert - ARMY let's enjoy this! - and to your next reaction video. BORAHAE 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

FRIENDS is my fave song of Jimin. It makes me feel happy so I play it when I take a shower in the morning to set my mood for the day. 😅

ARMY_Maenad

Yes! Thanks you for this! Lie is one of my favorite BTS solos ever. It’s just brilliant! I was going to suggest you watch Andrew’s analysis also but my surprise and delight when I got to that part, you probably know by now. Andrew is a very dear ARMY musician, whose BTS journey we have watched closely. Regarding the blindfold dance, wait until you see MAMA 2016! 🤭 I don’t remember if I’ve said before but I love your approach to music and genuine interest and honest opinions. Looking forward to more content.

Nanjareth

Me encanta! Thanks for appreciating this art! We still need Filter though 🫣 . Lots of love 🤍

PiedPiper613

Maybe the lie was the ones told to himself. He was insecure and afflicted with things in his life. He had to realize that was all a lie and to be true to himself is to stop telling yourself the lies. The real truth is what's inside.

Belemy

I think the lie is that he wasn't good enough, cuz that belief could take the smile from anyone. He was being swallowed by self-doubt and hate, so then the breakthrough he needs to get out of the lie would be learning to love himself.

Fernanda

Thank you for this!! Everything you guys said at the end could not have described this song any better! You’re so right about this song being an experience! I remember when I first heard it, I thought the same thing “spooky” the ah woos get me every time and the ending is just so powerful it’s like accepting defeat like you all said 😪 their album WINGS in itself is a whole experience and I can’t wait for you guys to listen to the rest of it!!

Princilla

I just kept switching from Naver to Weverse to YouTube ,etc... the struggle!!!!

Jaeyi

Hey Jared & Jordan, in case you have not reacted to the Busan concert yet, please don’t watch any replays ARMYs uploaded because it’s all very low quality. I’m 100% sure Bighit will post the HD replay on YouTube or Weverse like they did for Hobipalooza, so please wait until the official replay is out. It’d be funny if you watched it live though🤣🤣🤣 Everything crashed

Miglena

Second that

leat

hey Jared and Jorden the concert stream crashed so if you are planning on reacting to it wait. i hope weverse make a play back they did for j-hope because it crashed a few times to but this time 50 million was watching it on weverse and many on another platform too but both crashed soi am not sure if they got it all recorded but i think they did. each member also did speeches so they need to translate that also. so i hope you wait until then. and besides you haven´t heard any of the songs they played

Wasn't Hobipalooza uploaded on Youtube though and not Weverse? Either way, it doesn't matter where they upload it, I really hope they will! I stopped at Young Forever because I just couldn't take it anymore. The constant switching between platforms, and refreshing. Naver worked the best for me but it was reaaaally low quality. At least with me anyway.

Hai N

Lie, Serendipity, & Filter are all great solos from Jimin but I still have to vouch for Promise. The song is personable & truly reflects Jimin’s feelings for ARMY & himself. I really do hope you guys listen to it! It’s definitely up there for me with Magic Shop & Euphoria. A feel good, soft, & light song. I described it as if you were wrapped up in a warm blanket, drinking a cup of warm tea on a rainy fall day. Please give it a listen when you guys get a chance! As always, thank you for creating high quality content & for sharing your journey with ARMYs! Have a wonderful weekend! BORAHAE!!! 💜

Sally A

Are you guys uploading today

Nickleshia James

I am in the eastern time zone so 5am was the concert for me. I went to bed early and woke up at 4:30 was so excited concert started at 5am heard mic drop run Bts and half of run that was it for almost an hour. I had to go over to twitch to watch the rest of the concert. There was so much I missed but what I did see was fantastic as always. I just love the guys they have change my life so much for the better I would do it all over again for them.

I highly recommend Knox Hill for a reactor to watch for the breakdown of lyrics, he's done a handful of BTS songs (not all) but he is very good, he's caught/said things that other reactors never mention-its impressive. https://www.youtube.com/c/KnoxHill Andrew Berg (who you watched in this video) is a jazz musician/teacher and he is awesome for the music breakdown. He's watched a lot of BTS songs so you have plenty. https://www.youtube.com/c/AndrewBergSax Donald Isom is a dancer and chorographer, if you ever want a breakdown of their dances he takes the time to explain the nuances. https://www.youtube.com/c/DonaldIsom

Antalwyn

If you want to see other performance of Jimin dancing blindfolded, this is the Intro he and J-Hope did at the MAMA 2016 Award Show. It's a mashup of Lie and J-Hopes Boy Meets Evil which are their solo songs on the BTS album "Wings". Here is the link with Eng Subs for that performance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypOr9w9n_Ac I know its Jimin week, but you may want to watch J-Hopes Boy Meets Evil MVM/Comeback Trailer to see his dance in full before watching the performance. Here is the link for that: : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJJSh-eEdRk

Rae Avilez

I love Andrew! His musical breakdowns are so amazing. I would totally love to see you react to other reactors. It would be a lot of fun for me. Any of the ones mentioned above would be great.

bts

Hi! Love the reaction - as always. You mentioned that you would react to other reactiors, I think it would be great if you reacted to other reactors that specialize in one thing - like you did with Andrew Berg. For example if you did a dance practice or a dance performance reaction you could react to a dancer/professional dancer reactor, if you did a reaction to one of the rap songs you could react to a rapper reactor and so forth, you get my point. I just think it would be really interesting because they have a totally different perspective, could present certain theories and concepts in that specific subject - we all would learn something :)

bts
>>93670725

Yes!! I totally agree, love all of these reactors - especially Knox Hill, I watch his videos all the time! As you said, he’s really great at breaking down the rap and explaining all the different techniques/wordplay etc.

DanielleM

I love the idea of an "Inception reaction", lol! As long as that what you guys feel like doing! 46:55 Yes, this is why I love reaction videos!! Not only do I get to re-watch something I love and feel like it's the first time again through the reactor(While also feeling like I'm watching it with a friend 💜), but I also get to hear different feelings, thoughts, insights and interpretations that it invoked in them! My favorite reactors that give me the same vibe as you two are Andrew Berg, Caitlin Benson, Michael Beveraggi, Cedric Gegel, Sir Austin, Waleska Herrera(And her brother Efra), Landon Mark, LoveTheBasics, Max Beaumont, Roscoe, JohnReavesLive, Mexinese Family and Whatchagot2say(All of which are my favorite content creators who have some knowledge in music, film, dance etc.)! Waleska Herrera and her younger brother actually interviewed the Drummer (His name is Khan) that was/is apart of a band called Ghost, they worked with BTS for a lot of their live performances/concerts. They were the band who played with BTS for the Tiny Desk concert, the MTV Unplugged and the BBC Radio one performances.💜 There's also a dance studio YT channel called STEEZY that started doing some reactions to Kpop artist and they did a reaction to BTS's dance line, one of the reactions had the choreographer of Jimin's Serendipity choreo as a guest.

Inamar de Souza

Please do not react for the first time to stage mix videos, because you miss the emotion, the moves and the live sound of artist voice in one unique performance. Stage mix is edited. It is useful to rewatch and compare, to see the diferent outfits, like blak shirt and grey shirt.

mettemirella

The whole Wings album gives me chills. There is so many good songs in that album, but Jimins lie really is different. You get the change to learn little more about the song when you watch The Rise Of Bangtan. Jimin is going to talk a bit what the lie is at one episode what is coming to your way. Also the song will have a new point of view when you see the bangtan universe starting with the I need you music video. It might be a little shock for you as it was to all of us.

Kirssy Mago

I loved this soooo muchhh. OT7, but Jimin is my weakness 😫. The heart this man carries (all 7) the world would be a better place if there would be more kind hearted man like him.

flowersforaghost7911

I don’t know if this was mentioned above but Andrew Berg was actually on John Reaves YT channel for the series of Breaking The Stereotype, which I hope you guys will be taking the time to partake in soon. Anyway, I absolutely loved this video and I would definitely love to see you react to other reactors in your videos as well. ReacttotheK, Form of Therapy, Rebs N’ Graz React, You and Me, and Andrew Berg are great places to start.

Nugget

looking at these lyrics again, they sound like what my mind sounds like when im spiraling into a panic attack 😭 the mentally ill part of my brain is saying all these lies about me, while the rational part of me is saying "stop, get away from me". its a constant back and forth until im actually able to get away from them. temporarily. i knew these lyrics were intense, but its been a while since i went over them again and... wow

Cess Daloos

I've been listening and watching to reactors on YouTube about BTS for a long time and it's my first time to join Patreon because I can't wait to witness you reacting to Jimin's masterpiece. He is my bias since 2013 and this song stillgives me goosebumps evrytime

Cess Daloos

Please checkout his dance solo compilations.. he has an elegant performance in MAMA dancing contemporary and also in a FAN dance.such elegant and mesmerizing

Inamar de Souza

I watch some reactors but do not follow them. Only 3. People just say I like BTS and do not have content. Love you guys because you pay attention to the full performance and compare to your experiences and background. I always learn something new with you.

Sarah_Rxpx

Jimin is always so mesmerizing..

Redg C.

Jordan's The Office/Fleabag look at the camera everytime Jared tries to hit that note kILLS ME HAHAHAHAHAH

Nisrine Nona

The lie is that exact smile you're talking about Jordan, if you see what I mean

Vanesa

Jimin es absolutamente impresionante.

Vanesa

Jimin es arte.

Miriam Oquendo

I feel like the lie was told to him. This song is so haunting. I love it. I love Jimin 💜

I was wondering if something is wrong with video? I can’t seem to get it to work on any device.

Hi April, we’re sorry you are having issues with the video. We wonder if others are having the same issues? Does anything pop up on the screen when you try to play the video?

Thank you for getting back to me. I finally had to hard reboot and I’m now able to get the video. Thank you again for your reaction.

"He's dancing blindfolded"... Yes, Yes he is... But wait until you see BTS's performance at MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) in 2016. Let me tell you...I lost my SH*T the first time I saw this performance, and I just can't wait to see you two lose yours x))) This performance is ICONIC!
