Today's video is a continuation of a reaction video that we posted on our YouTube channel, where we listen to BTS CYPHERS Pt. 1 & 2 for the first time and dive into the lyrics for each! If you haven't already seen that video, go check it out now and then come back. We'll be waiting for you…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qz4fppBdUms

Here are some of our takeaways (and favorite bars from each Cypher):

1. We don’t know whether today’s experience was a RAP FEAST, a FLOOD, or a BOUNDLESS OCEAN. 🤯🤯

2. RM, J-Hope and Suga are among the best rappers in the world. Their meticulous “sculpting” and cultivation of their lyrics blew us away.

3. Cypher Pt. 1 gave us that that OLD SCHOOL hip-hop vibe. It felt like a real cypher, whose lyrics took us for a spin:

- “Poppin’em, rockin’em, stoppin’em, blockin’em, like the Cassius’ lance.”

- “Now look at me and tell me, who are your top 5? Rap Monster, Randa, leader, RapMon, your daddy.”

- “The resolution of my pronunciation is 4K.”

4. Cypher Pt. 2 COMPLETELY DESTROYED US:

- “If you’re Pride, hey, I’m Chrysler.”

- “This is a kingdom, I’m a king, you’re dumb.”

- “Above a running man is a flying man, then a man who’s riding the flying man.”

- “The name of my charge is “assault with tongue.”

- “I draw the period onto the artery of your music career.”

5. Cypher Pt. 3 allowed us to RIDE the beat like a BIKER:

- “You’re a sewer, and I’m savory.”

- “I’m not Buddha, but I’m a butcher, shaving your flesh like a…” (WAS THIS LINE BUTCHERED!?)

- “My flow job that catches those arrogant, no-name rappers and trifles with them.”

6. Cypher Pt. 4 was an unexpected BOP that was dripping with SWAG:

- “SORRY BAE!”

- “I like hate comments better than no comments”

- “Click on it, I’m a cat and you’re all mice.”

- “I LOVE I LOVE I LOVE MYSELF!”

That's something you can not miss!! the opening cermony has 5 BILLION viewers, the fotball world cup is the biggest sport event in the world. We are so proud of Jungkook, our golden maknae! The song has such a fotball feel to it, like waka waka with shakiras world cup song! You guys really need to check it out! Melie

Cypher Pt. 4 is my ALL TIME FAVORITE 😍 It's a flex, self-confidence, self-love and positive too which makes it much more powerful for me!!!

Aylaᴿᵖʷᵖ

you got j-hope and SUGA confused a bit in Cypher 3 too but its ok <3

Kayla Marie

Cypher Pt. 2 "My voice even bewitches your girlfriend." - Min Yoongi/Agust D/Suga 🥰🥰💜💜

LIBBY WILSON

I told you before when I commented on Cypher 3. To listen to all 4 Cyphers was a must. The first three Cyphers basically put all those who hated on BTS in their place. Cypher 4 let's the haters know BTS love and know who they are. No matter how much they are hated it won't affect them...they know their rule...Sorry Bae...I love myself, I know myself...BRRRR!

Alishea

Amazing reaction to all 4 cyphers I can only imagine how mind-blown you both are by the end of it but you guys are real ones for giving us 2 hour long reactions twice in one day plus a performance video! 💜 Thank you so much I can't wait until you play Cypher pt.4 in the car XD

Sokha637

Cypher pt.2 and 4 but since busan concert love the 3 too and what 2,3 and 4 without the one then finally they just perfectly match together

Tiffany1013

Guys, this is totally worth the wait. Thanks for taking your time with these - you're keeping me company this evening!

bts

LOVED THIS ❤️

BeTheLight

So my favorite cyphers are 2 and 4 and it may seem weird but it took me awhile to really love cypher 3. Thank you for your reaction. 💜

Precious Lafleur

You guys are awesome! I thank God that BTS found their way to us. You are absolutely right!!!! Now I’m heading to part 3 of the Cypher Experience!!! I can’t thank you enough for this. By the way, part 3 and 4 are my favorite. The lyrics to both got me. As a poet. It’s always the lyrics for me.

silja

I like listening to you guys talk, it's soothing kinda like a podcast. Doing som artwork or doodling and you guys on the screen is a perfect combo 👌 😅😁😁

Zaynab Layla

I think you guys are now ready to listen to BAEPSAE also called SILVERSPOON also called TRY HARD. In the 4th cypher you can hear SUGA starting his verse with « back back to the basic microphone check call me BAEPSAE (try hard) » this is a reference to this song. This masterpiece has a lot of meaning and their live performance is incredible. If you ever watch it please also refer to this explanation video by DKDKTV. Until then stay safe always. 💜

Johana

Jared, Jordan you guys did it again!! Amazing analysis like always. Silly of me to think I was going to get through all the videos tonight 😂😂 I am very inclined to sacrifice my sleep and binge watch all of the videos, I’m SOOOO hyped for the Live experience. Anyway, it’s so hard to pick just a few lines from the cyphers so I’ll just say pt.2/3 are my favorites 😂😂

LizP⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷

My favorite Cyphers in order 4,3,1,2 And RM was right when he said he was my "daddy" 😉🤣🤣🤣🤣

Jane Rogers

To continue couple of explanations from YouTube’s Cypher 1 & 2… Cypher 3: Buddhist monks/practice are vegans and butchering is for meat; unnie is pronounced as un-knee; Impossibe-to-kill (Bulgasal) is immortal creature that cannot be killed (there’s a K-drama on Netflix called Bulgasal); Daegu is pronounced as day-goo; satori means regional accent so hyung-nim becomes hang-nim (nim is honorific way of saying their name/title) Cypher 4; Bapsae also called Silver Spoon is a BTS song about generational struggles

Navi

All cyphers 🔥🔥🔥

Aparna

Personally I think the reason they aways put Suga at the end is cuz, I had a Korean Army friend of mine tell me once that Suga's rapping is a lot like a machine gun going off, he's precise with his shots and doesn't mince words, and never bothers to sugarcoat. She calls his rapping "raw and painfully to the point", which is why I think BTS like putting him at the end. He's a great closer.

LizP⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷

Keep in mind guys I told you the Cyphers are part of the full meal in which Tear is the main course.....or something like that lol I can't remember. Seriously guys this was such an awesome Tuesday night because of your videos!! Jordan you almost made me cry when you spoke about how music that is so good will almost never make it to you because of boundaries etc. I feel that here in the US, most of the industry and radio listeners were only exposed to BTS after their English songs came out. Yet their Korean songs are the most beautifully created, sung, written, produced and performed and will probably never reach the majority of listeners simply for the fact that they're not in English. That's such a sad reality. P.s. poor lil 🐁 Jared sleep with 1 eye open 🤣🤣💜💜

Neha

I'd like to believe that the reason ARMY kept quiet about Cypher 4 was so that you both could be surprised. Honestly, if I knew you guys in person and was physically with you during your journey, that's exactly what I would've done... because that reaction you both had, is priceless. Cyphers 3 and 4 are my favorites and I'm so happy you both enjoyed them as much as I do.

joaniewwh3502

rm's verse in cypher pt. 3 has a lil onomatoepia. for example, when he said play the beat backwards, the beat literally played backward. when he said everyone raps the same like they're critical patients, he stumbled on his delivery... ahh the brilliance of rm. my favorite bts cypher if strictly cypher speaking is pt. 2. sonically and with a mix of lyricism, my fave is pt. 3, and cypher pt. 4 is more of an anthem -- and a good wrap-up to the bts cyphers... from speaking about their entrance to the music industry to dissing haters and "killing" them (cyphers' 1-3) and then finally, to understanding that the core message has always been "i love myself" (cypher pt. 4) -- that confidence which comes from understanding who they are and not being gravely affected by the haters. it's like them saying, "i've achieved this while you were busy hating. i was once angry for your hate towards us but now, nah... we're good... we'll just slap you with how far we've come 'cos we work hard and we are on a journey of knowing and loving ourselves." so cypher pt. 4 arguably not being the "hardest" cypher is the most profound and a showcase of maturity from the bts rapline. hence, the fandom loves it. 💜 add-on: i love how j-hope's final words in cypher pt. 4 is actually "fuck you" lol he told us to lean in and listen but many miss out on it hahahaha

Maya001

Hey guys! Finally got the chance to sit down and watch this and WHAT A TREAT so excited to get into the live now but I gotta say one thing! The definition of cypher reminded me of Circle Room Cypher where ALL the BTS members were freestyling looool. It’s in the 2cool4skool album. It’s fun so maybe check it out wherever if it’s something u wanna see :) Oh! And Yoongi’s verse in Cypher 3 reminds me a lot of his mixtapes. He loves to use the terms ‘sending to Hong Kong’ or using tongue technology with the double entendre in his songs like ‘Agust D’. It’s the TT of his first Mixtape. Anyway I’m off to catch the other vid. Hope u had a good night sleep after these looong hours of bars getting drilled into ur head lol

Stephannie

I’m voting for “Suga Daddy”, but excuse me, how many times can one person vote? Bc I’d love to win.😳

Marellea

Personally, I think the reason why Cypher pt. 3: Killer is more structured because like a killer, they must blend in with the crowd (blend in with the current music industry) and strike without drawing attention. You can't help but listen to the song even if you don't know Korean because it has a melodious sound. But once you (you as in those who had been hating on BTS) learned the lyrics, you didn't even know a blade had already struck you down and you are now a ghost lingering around the body of your prejudice. And basing from the definition of the word cypher, it solidified my theory since it is "a secret or disguised way of writing a code" ;)

joaniewwh3502

omg. sorry for double-commenting but what you guys said about being frustrated that you never heard the bts cyphers, i can totally relate. and i believe armys who came before me, that's what's driven them and now us too, to want to spread bts music. back in 2018 when i started listening to bts, i couldn't believe what i've been missing out on... and i felt a desperation to share their music. i wanted the world to know them because they have reached my soul in ways i didn't know possible, despite being an avid fan of music in general. i was scared that i almost missed out on them and was also very grateful that i came across them. this is the kind of music bts makes -- the kind that you'd want to spread, hoping that others would keep an open-mind. because truly, if you're open, you'd have no room to appreciate and be touched by bts' artistry. thank you so much for getting it, jared and jordan. thank you from the bottom of my purple heart. also, no wayyy... i don't get sleepy listening to you. i really appreciate that you take your time and you want to talk about bts and stuff. i mean, that's what i'm here for... watching you dive into the beauty of bangtan. 💜

Gabriela

Hi guys! Personally I never understood with cypher 4 is not as popular as 2 and 3. The sound they used in 2016..they were ahead of everyone! Also is much more mature, both in lyrics and production. My favorites in order are 3-4-2-1 (tho 4 and 2 are more of a tie). Now I think you guys are almost ready for OUTRO: Tear…eventually just dive in a little bit more in how was the group situation when they released it, ‘cause that song is drenched in pain and fear. You need to have the whole vision 💜 thank you as always!

Marellea

"Any votes for "Suga Daddy" ?" How about, Agust D-addy? 🫣

Jackie

As an army who joined back in 2016, cypher pt. 4 is so nostalgic to me and definitely my favorite but they are all amazing💜

Lourdes

Shout out to you guys, this was a major analyze. I Respect how you guys take the time to understand the lyrics and choose to do a deep dive no matter, how long it takes.

PamTan

OMG, guys, I saw this post last night (11 pm for me), I prefer to wait for today to watch it. Then I realized I did all 4 hours nonstop!! Ufffff Now, going to the fun part!!!

Hana

I think a lot of people didn't say much about cypher pt 4 to not spoil you, since the theme changed a little bit. That's one of the reasons why (Next to Cypher 3), part 4 is my favorite. I love the change in mindset to "We're so far above you, at this point we don't even care anymore and I'm not gonna waste my energy on being mad about you". It shows how much they have grown. And telling your haters that they should learn to love themselves so they don't have to push themselves up by belittling others... chef's kiss.

Bagnath Mari

Hey guys- just some info on the KAWS & Bearbrick references. I think Hobi is flexing (majorly) here as KAWS & Bearbricks are not actual toys to be played with- they are pieces of art that are collectibles (and can get VERY VERY expensive. Both RM & JHope collect KAWS & Bearbricks. Hope actually owns three of the KAWS+Bearbrick collaboration bears totalling nearly $35K. But he has much more- his collection could be well over 100k easy! Oh also, KAWS is a renowned artist whose works travel the world and are shown at big international galleries- I had chance to see his work when it came to Melbourne. The Xs for the eyes in his works, I've always felt is like when in cartoon, characters die- they have Xs for eyes. So essentially, Hobi totures the haters with his rap and success.

Bagnath Mari

Oh & the flex here is great! I'll high five with my bricks in ma house that I'll move into next year" as mentioned before re:Bearbrick $$$ but also the fact that he will own his own house next year something that is becoming more of a dream for most y & x gens in Korea (& other places). So when Hobi says keep looking up and saying "dreams come true" for the haters (because it probably won't for them), he has already made it- he is not only living the dream but the embodiment of the dream as a result of his talent & hard work and not just wishful dreaming.

Kiki

WELCOME TO THE OTHER SIDE, GUYS!! YOU MADE IT👏👏👏

SilvrArmy

Thank you for taking the time to do the Cyphers justice! It’s a lot and we definitely appreciate the many hours you spent on this! 💜I love all of them and my #1 switches from day to day depending on my mood, but Pt. 4 was definitely the one that first hooked me. The flows and lyricism are off the chart but the way they hype each other up during live performances - OMG!!! 🔥🔥🔥

J-Lee

Ahhh I am so late so I don't know what to comment anymore coz they all said already what I had to say!! Lol 😆 But yazzz I am on for Suga Daddy!!! His lyrics in Pt. 3 made me weak again 😩🥹🤧 And wow interesting how the lyrics explained BAE coz I only know it as the classic "before anyone else" 🤭 Thank you for this reaction my FAVE brothers! You totally delivered and gave it your best for the Cyphers! Love it!! 💜

soyaspinsxxx

I can't thank you enough for all the effort and dedication you've put in this reaction. All that content and all those lyrics in one sitting? You guys are insane, but hopefully you'll see how it was worth it, to see the narrative they embarked on from the first cypher to the last, their growth as not only rappers but as people! A few comments: 1. Highly recommended listening to j-hope's 1VERSE if you want more of its addictive swaggy flow, especially since it's a short one (as the title suggests it's literally only 1VERSE). It has some of the most out there and downright *disgusting* bars in BTS discography and might show a side of j-hope you haven't seen yet! 2. On the topic of j-hope, I saw you guys being confused with some of his bars and wanna offer my input as a korean learner. Hobi's verses are notoriously hard to translate since he's very unconventional with how he uses language. He often omits the subject of his sentences, flips words around, and deliberately misprounounces words for double entendres and internal rhyme schemes. Imo that's why his flows are so catchy and memorable in every song, he really goes all out with the rhyming scheme and sometimes that makes the verses difficult to understand for non Korean speakers! 3. If you want to enjoy how the rapline rhymes, take a look at doolset's coloured lyrics in the Korean section of the lyrics. They use different colours to show internal rhymes and end rhymes (I think it's green and orange but I'm not sure) Thanks so much again, can't wait for outro tear so you can get another taste of the rapline (not swaggy or aggressive, but emotional and heartbreaking) 💜

Christina

There's one more cypher... on 2 Cool 4 Skool they have Outro: Circle Room Cypher, which has all 7 members taking part and is a more light-hearted kind of free-style rap battle over a beat Yoongi produced. I absolutely love this track and would highly recommend giving it a listen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAh1W8MgF84&ab_channel=wokobee

Jhope loves KAWS. His IG is filled with them, you can see how he has so many items from there in his house

Tri

Random but i'm not keen on the background photo not being the rap line on this lyric video. Like it throws me off, why would they make that call?? I much prefer when they highlight who is singing. It wouldn't hurt to have Namjoon Jhope on the picture for a song they wrote? Anyway...

Cheryl ⁷ Lambert

Guys, don’t ever stop talking! For however long it takes to breakdown, reflect on and vibe with every song, I’m here for it. This is what you do best and why we’re here. From Yoongi going off like a missile in Cypher 2 to breaking the haters in 3 and that gentle ride in 4, I can’t pick a favourite but Suga daddy is living rent free in my head. 🫠😉😂💜💜

Johana

I loved the little rant Jared & Jordan! We all feel the same way about BTS 💜 Their music is truly amazing and healing. It’s unfortunate that many people disregard them or refuse to listen to it because of the different language. Im also grateful to have stumbled upon your guys videos 💜💜 Anyway oof this is a hard choice, I have always struggled between Cypher 2 and 3 😭 they’re both amazing, but the RMs verse in 3 is my fave

Purple

Considering the order they follow in Cyphers (RM - Jhope - Suga) something came to my mind! Since these Cyphers are them responding to the hater or entering a battle field to fight the haters, almost like Catharsis to release their pent up feelings - RM being the leader leads them in to the battlefield, surprise attack cause the haters didn't think they would respond or fight that too in such a classy way (RM lyrical genius), Jhope, being the hope and the sunshine, keeps them energized and keeps up morale during the battle and finally Suga gives the final blow to end the battle, protecting them from the back silently but the most lethal, you don't see him coming like a cat. This is how ARMY tend to discuss their relationship in the group as well and how they contribute to this family.

Zoi

Can’t wait for you guys to dive in to Suga’s “ tongue technology”

Selina T

First off, WINGS is an incredible album! From that, we got Cypher 4, Jimins Lie, Vs Stigma and others. I think if you’re into the Cypher 4, you’ll probably lovvvve the tracks Home or Paradise. They are both OT7 songs, but they both have that rap/singing you guys like. Home, they perform all the time. Unfortunately there’s no live performance for Paradise. But every ARMY been dying to see one lol, great song.

ORETHA MCBRIDE

Do you know they perform these cyphers live in one show. Reaction requested please

Bwana

JORDAN! I nearly swallowed my Tootsie roll pop whole while listening to you go off on subpar rappers on behalf of the true artist, AKA- BTS🤣. "your so disrespectful for even mentioning my name.. Like you should not even mention me, I'm so far above you" 🙌🏽💜

Michelle Tetzke

Ok. I fully admit that I belted out a high pitched 4 year old girly squeal when you guys read out my comment referring to the RAP FEAST. I am so honored that you thought so well of my comment. I messaged a bunch of my friends to tell them, "I'm kinda on YouTube." *squea* Lol. Thank you again. FYI- RM (and I think JHOPE) collect the KAWS & BE@RBRICK toys. In RUm's earlier VLives you can see a portion of his KAWS collection. I might be wrong, but I think JHOPE had a (maybe 4ft. tall) BE@RBRICK wooden figure in the background on one of his VLives. I can't imagine how much their collections are worth. I just saw a BE@RBRICK statue advertised on Black Friday Sale for $699.00. It was under 10 inches tall. That's more than my monthly rent. I cannot fathom l that kind of success, but the members of BTS deserve every bit of it. As always, be well, be strong and God bless. 🙏💪💜

Astrid

Wait till you hear Outro Tear...this song is a tear in every Army's heart. You absolutely have to watch the live perofrmance, there's a really good stagemix on you tube.

Denisse⁷

Pt. 4 is my favorite cypher song. Thank you for reacting to all cypher songs. I enjoy your reactions 💜

Juliana Krampf

Great reaction! I would have to say cypher pt. 3 and 4 are my favorite!

Carille

the video does not play guys.... i subscribe thinking I had to pay to see it but it won't play either way... please how can we fix this?

TM

you never disappoint with the reactions

Mailea Stewart

Love love loved 🥰 both of your candor and reactions!!! The Cyphers are truly a (ear)sight to behold!! 🫶🏼💜🫶🏼

Kitty Tomaszewicz

I did watch it at normal speed and didn't fall asleep ;) You guys are quite entertaining, you know :D I especially loved the hidden story suddenly appearing in the middle of the reaction 🤣 I'm so happy you got through the life threatening adventure known as the Cypher Ocean Incident 🤣 I think I like Cypher nr 2 the most for how it sounds but if we talk about the lyrics/message I love Cypher 4 the most: like, come on, only the genius BTS rap line could say to their haters that they should love themselves, literally! 😂 If that's not the ultimate closing bar then I don't know what is. And now I'm going to watch the live performances reaction 😁 💜🫰💜

Rongrong

I always watch your vids at normal speed :D I always learn something new with your little detour LOL 💜

Tyla Vidal

Cypher 4 is my fav💜💜
